Great help, gentlemen. Video allowed me to DIY repair for $15 in parts vs a repair quoted at >$400 by local mechanic and +/-$700 by Honda Dealer. Took me 2 hours, including a complete undo/redo because of a connector problem w/ one of the harness clips onto the new actuator. Second time was much faster. I would recommend reconnecting the window/lock controller and testing the new actuator while holding it in your hand, before reinstallation inside the door and replacing window rail. Keep testing the function as you work to re-assemble the parts and attach back onto door. Definitely have a couple flash lights to assist your view inside door. The hardest part was disengaging the two unfinished metal push rods. The larger rod needs a strong tug to the right (drivers door), toward the door hinge to disengage. The smaller rod, closer to the door latch-end of door, is hard to see, and needs a slight tug toward you/the interior of car to remove. Be sure to swing the small plastic clips to the disengaged position before tugging rods to remove. Installing rods back into sockets is much easier.
I had to redo install a 2nd time because of a problematic white plug that dislodged from inside the power connector harness (see item at 8:00 mark in video) and stayed lodged inside the old actuator, preventing the new actuator from having a good connection with the harness, preventing proper function. Re-installing the white plug back into harness fixed the problem immediately and all finished completely functional. Lovely fix and saved real $$. Very much appreciate you both sharing your skills on your UA-cam channel.

Just wanted to thank you for the video. I have very little mechanical expertise. I bought an actuator on Ebay for $12 and installed it in 2 hours thanks to your video. Some of your video shots were tough to follow but your description was easy enough to follow. Trickiest part was getting the window rail to line up right. Thanks again.

The lock actuator on the driver side of my 2010 started making horrible noises. I googled the problem, found your video, ordered the part from Amazon ($12.99 + tax, $14.00 total), and started the project yesterday (on a Sunday). The biggest problem was the 3 screws on the side holding the locking mechanism in place, 1 was incredibly tight and started to strip, so I ended up taking it to Honda this morning to get help with that screw, and lucky for me, a nice guy got that screw out! This afternoon I finished the project and my door lock works perfect now! I agree with a couple other folks, putting the window rail back in was a giant pain, found out had to use a little mirror and little light to see exactly how to get that piece back in. Other than that, instructions were very well done! Thanks, you saved me a ton of money I'm sure! (And for all you ladies out there.... this woman did it - so can you!!!)

Great video guys, thanks. I did this to the passenger side today on my 2008, took me just over an hour. Hardest part was putting the window rail back, had to fiddle with it a lot to get in into place at the top. Since you can't see anything, you have to use the force and feel your way! Local Honda dealer was charging $315 CAD to do this job. I bought the part on Amazon for $25 CAD (for both sides). The foam piece on the white cable was all torn so I put some electrical tape on the rough metal edge of the door to prevent the cable from getting damaged.

Thanks Guys! I was able to replace the driver side actuator on my 2007 Odyssey EX with an Intermotor DLA87 in under 2 hours. My only suggestions are to only remove the left side of the Weather Lining and to use a few small pieces of Black Gorilla Tape to help hold the Lining back up....and take pictures before taking things apart so you know how they go back :)

Thank you. This project is in my near future as I deal with the lock problem. Seeing what to do shows me it is a lot of work, and that having a shop do it would be expensive, but it gives me confidence that I can do it. I'll get the part ordered to have it ready.

You guys rock! Took about an hour (was having coffee while doing it!). I agree with the previous commenter that it would have been helpful to see you put the window rail back in. That was the hardest part. For those who are going to do this make sure the rail is seated in the base of the window before bolting. Thanks so much! You probably saved me $300!!

I just replaced mine (2010 touring), and everything was easy, just follow instructions and apply some force to release those two hangers , firs u need to release the plastic lock , the big one with your hand, easy, the small one on the far back with the plastic tool or screw driver. Be careful not to break any plastic lock. The window part you need to feel where it seats on the top and push it up to engage the window and the screw in the back will just fit perfectly. Be sure you learn the position of the internal.parts before removing the metal plate from the wire plastic so you place it back in the same way so it will engage well and work fine, and yes, TEST it before placing stuff back! Both the remote and the window . Thanks a lot . Saved me a lot of money.

Thank you for the guide. Made it so I could do it. Hardest part was remembering to put things back in order... Put the window rail in before putting door panel back. Putting the handle cable back and plug the speaker in.
Helpful tip. You can peak at the window rail placement through the hole where the lock cable goes.
Also, don't remove the plastic lock grip like another video suggested. It is hard to get it to screw back on.

This was a great video! I was able to easily replace the door actuator, and i am not someone who is knowledgable about cars or car parts. It would be helpful if you could extend the video to show reassembly as well as you didn’t mention the window rail comes out of a bracket and needs to be reinstalled into this bracket. I also didn’t think about the orange wire until I had to reinstall and I didn’t have it in the correct place- it needs to go behind the window rail, which is probably obvious to many people, but not something I paid attention to until I put the window down to test out the locks and the orange wire was in the way. Those are two bits of information that might be helpful to others that I learned by trial and error. Thanks for your video! I know I saved a lot of money doing this repair myself!

Hardest part was getting the window channel back in - i used a telescoping angle mirror and a drop light and it made it much easier to align the channel with the bottom bracket/bottom of the window.

Great video! Got it all fixed up!
QUESTION: about a week after doing this the driver window suddenly stopped working. Before the actuator replacement it struggled to get up and down. After actuator replacement it seemed that problem was fixed as well. I attributed it to removing the window rail and cleaning it since I had it out. But now it’s just stuck closed. Doesn’t even seem to try. Could an electrical plug have come loose since I was messing with those? Or could it just be a coincidence that the motor or regulator went out just after the actuator was replaced?

I had a similar situation that I fixed by replacing a switch on the door jamb. I'm not sure what the part name is, but you'll see it when you have any of your doors open and there's a black rubber switch that can be pressed on. Lift up the flap and there's a single screw or bolt to remove it. I bought one from the dealership and installed it on one of the doors and waited to see if it fixed it. When it didn't I switched it to another door til I found out the faulty switch.

Has anyone successfully removed the door panel with the door closed? My door will not open, therefore, I cannot even complete step 1 of removing the door panel. Any tips?
