Thank you so much, at midnight last night the dishwasher had the F78 sign, I googled and found you. I was in my nightdress on my knees following your instructions by torchlight. It worked, the dishes are clean and so is the drain pipe. I am your grateful pupil.
This video was an absolute winner! Problem solved. Miele suggestion of pouring warm water down with some rinse aid was not helping at all. Thanks so much!!!
Dear Dave, Thank you soooooooo very much. I had to repeat the procedure a couple of times before it worked, but it did. I really appreciate you posting this video. Regards Kate
I don’t know how to solve the problem because been an engineer for the last 35 years error if 78 is a fault within the wash motor nothing to do with drain pump ???
This video is very misleading. F78 means that your circulation pump is broken. However the machine will start at random if you try enough times. So you can just sing a song and you will have the same odds for it to start as if you do like here in the video. Ask your service man when he comes by.
Help needed our Bosch dishwasher is not completing the cycle and showing 1 minute always ,not stoping. I checked the propeller it's free and water is not draining
Hint: Next time film with the phone on landscape. All of the world TVs and monitors are landscape you know... it's a pain to watch this on a computer screen. Thanks for the info on how to solve the issue.

@@el_mazzo9215 I was a Miele tech in Australia up until Covid 19 scamdemic. F78 relates to the circulation pump not communicating with the electronic correctly. Sometimes, it can be a simple as a 'sticky' shaft seal on the circ pump and a squirt of rinse aid can help. It has been a bit of a problem for Miele for the last 2 or 3 years, even on new machines. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave, had the F78 problem, watched your video and fixed it. UA-cam has allowed us all to become experts
It works.. I put also hot (not boiling) water in that area ( wait for 5-7min) and start program.... Afrer 20 times trying.. It finely working.
Dumped a quart of hot water on the third try, just in case, and it worked. Thanks!
Thanks - it worked! Perfect to be able to fix this my self during christmas.. 👍
Best video on UA-cam - worked for me!!
Absolutely brilliant. Thank You, it worked!
This problem occurred today while I was vacuuming, luckily this video solved the problem. ahoy!
It worked. Thanks for the info!
Amazing video
Great stuff! It works now.
Thanks Dave it worked.
Thanks for this simple fix. I assume the rinse aid acts as a bit of a lubricant for the impeller and also the ball bearing.
brill thank you, did the trick
Thanks mate!! That did it 👍
I poured a big pot of boiling water into the dishwasher and ran it again and it worked :)
It worked for us. My guess is that the ball in the valve you remove before you get to the impeller was stuck in our case.
Excellent, that worked very well. Many thanks for short informative video.

Correct. The f78 is the recirculation pump under the unit.
The pump shown in the video is a drain pump and is unrelated

Flashlight please

;what tha crap
3rd time lucky sounds like it worked
F11 would be drain pump issues
F78 is wash pump not running fast enough
Thanks Gràham - good to know!
A better way of doing it... Close the door and let it do the drain cycle, anything caught around it will fling out and you can just pick it up.
Folks - does this permanently fix the problem or has anyone had it come back?
Hi Anthony Daniels it hasn’t come back for me since I filmed this.

Joao, I think you're wrong. People prefer portrait. Trust me on this one.

@@EkaZZ exactly
Hi Dave
I've done that twice error still coming up
Because it's a recirculation pump error not the drain pump as indicated in this video
Use next time a flashlight
Good job bro
Nope, didn't work. Tried it 3 times
Worked on the 4rh time
Motor pompe
Didn't work for me, but helpful nonetheless
Hahahaha, the drain pump impeller has nothing to do with F78
Mark Peters How did you repair it?
What is it then bell end?

Not sure I trust the written word of someone who thinks coronavirus is a scamdemic 😉
