I live in Alaska and it’s definitely not -40. Going further north towards Fairbanks or heading towards the Arctic Circle it will definitely be colder. The colder the temperatures the more beautiful the northern lights are. There is some parts of Alaska that are -40, but you would just have to plan your trip and where you’re wanting to go. There’s nothing quite like the northern lights reflecting off the snow. It’s like a magical fairy land
I've been skiing and snowboarding; the most important thing is to fall correctly essentially don't fall forward; fall back. If you fall forward you can break your wrist/face all the important parts. You're mostly okay after that. I am not coordinated enough to ski but I'm fine on a snowboard. Definitely do the "gentle push" test too to check which way you ride. I thought I'd ride regular and I ride "goofy". I mostly taught myself as a teen on a huge hill behind a preschool (they left it open for everyone going tobogganing (sledding) and cross country skiiers on the flats). Happy Holidays! I've been watching your videos and learning about homesteading as I live on my own in a small cottage in the country. It's not technically a homestead but I'm working on being less dependent on outside sources for food and am planting an actual tea garden this year (2023). I have farm animals but they are pets in connection to my family's store in the front.

Absolutely loved this vlog - especially the scenes at the vintage store! I laughed so hard when Logan said the pattern reminded him of grandma's chouch but it ended up looking really good. Probably everything I wear would be labelled as "grandma's couch" by someone 😂 And I 100% agree that snow makes life 50 times more difficult - experiencing this right now as a nomad on the road wishing every day it was summer 😂

I used to teach Snowboarding to people who would say they'll "never do it again", and the key to doing it is to never give up no matter how many times you fall. another thing that will help you is by going boarding with someone is a pretty good boarder. they can help you simply by helping guide to learn your balance and not freakout amd move your feet as you start sliding down a hill when you brain tells your body to stop moving. the body has a naturL tendency to stop moving once you start sliding while buckled to a board.

Life is always changing - that's normal! The problems occur when people try to resist. I learnt when sailing as a kid that there is always change - wind changes, tide turns, there are no straight lines in life. Love what you are doing and the red onesees were a scream and look great on you.

I’m from Alaska! The trip will be worth it i promise you. The snow is unlike anything else. It’s different but it’s beautiful. It is currently 17 degrees in Wasilla Alaska.

Dec 16 was the shabat. I think you can sense it. It goes according to the stages of the moon. That is why you didn't want to do anything and just rest. And I see/know exactly what you say about snow. Except if you're skiing or boarding - then it's awesome. Props to Logan for being fearless.
Absolutely loved this vlog - especially the scenes at the vintage store! I laughed so hard when Logan said the pattern reminded him of grandma's chouch but it ended up looking really good. Probably everything I wear would be labelled as "grandma's couch" by someone 😂 And I 100% agree that snow makes life 50 times more difficult - experiencing this right now as a nomad on the road wishing every day it was summer 😂

Possibly because you’re going to the wrong time of the season? Alaska is perfect in the summer especially for the northern lights you can see the northern lights here in Northern Michigan which is amazing you should head south to go someplace warm down to South Carolina, the keys etc

I am absolutely in love with you Isabel your eyes are amazing. I used to teach Snowboarding to people who would say they'll "never do it again", and the key to doing it is to never give up no matter how many times you fall. another thing that will help you is by going boarding with someone is a pretty good boarder. they can help you simply by helping guide to learn your balance and not freakout amd move your feet as you start sliding down a hill when you brain tells your body to stop moving. the body has a naturL tendency to stop moving once you start sliding while buckled to a board.
Honestly he did pretty good for his first time boarding! I went for the first time last year... and welp did NOT make it to a chair lift lol
