    You could also use a small crochet hook to tie it quicker.

    it's a base chain for crochet - there are crochet hooks that could make this faster, they are the right size.

    I've been looking all over for some way to make a border for my dog tags. A silencer, and a kewl cordage way to hold them. this will do as a replacement for the chain, but still need a border around the tags. And ideas?

    If using 550 cord, you probably want to go with 12 feet.

    Just one thing you said you make a slip knot but the knot you made is a noose which is the opposite of a slip knot.

      Type I has a rating of 90 to 100 pound tensile strength. 550 paracord (Type III) has a tensile strength of 550 pounds.
