Ted is definitely not country. I'm glad you did the Double Live Gonzo version of this song. This is one of the best live albums of all time in my opinion.
In the 70s Ted Nugent double live Gonzo Kiss Alive one Peter Frampton Frampton comes alive Bob Seger live bullet set the standard for how live albums should be recorded all incredible
Double Live Gonzo was pure fire. Boombox melting firepower back in 77/78 in school. Hell, even had a friend get suspended a few days from playing it 8th grade!!! Classic!!!
I was at the Seattle Center Coliseum in 1977 one of THE craziest concerts I've ever seen... crowd surge chanting OPEN THE EFFING DOORS OPEN THE EFFING DOORS!!! Windows started breaking cops on horseback grabbing longhaired guys and dragging them away... almost canceled the show... crazy.
Nugent did not drink or do drugs , he always said that he had the worst addiction of all , poon Tang , he was addicted to women !! You need to try , Spit It Out , or Terminus Eldorado !! But yes , Wang Dang Sweet Poontang is a classic that I thought everyone has heard , glad you enjoyed it !!
First time I saw Uncle Ted live I was in 8th grade and him swinging across the stage in a loincloth had the crowd going crazy. Now heading to the 2nd half of my 50's I still ❤ his music!!!
Thanks for reviewing this song by Ted Nugent, the Motor City Madman. I grew up in Toledo, OH which isn't far from his home town, Detroit, MI. When his songs came on the radio, EVERYBODY cranked the volume ALL THE WAY UP. He's an icon.
My high school band used to play this song. I will never forget playing it at a church picnic and the singer threw in his own XXX lyrics. Nuns in the crowd. Priceless.
Ted was my 1st live concert back in summer of 1981 . Let me tell you boys he kills it on guitar and still does at over 70 years old. He tours every summer between hunting seasons . So if you get a chance to see him if comes near your town I highly recommend it.

This was one of the best reaction videos EVER! Guys I worked for Ted back in the 90's got to hang out with him and he is AWESOME! The real deal. Nothing is fake with him! Thanks for doing this it made my day!!!!
If it hasn't been said yet the first guitar solo was Derek Saint Holmes who is a great guitarist himself and the lead singer on a lot of other Ted Nugent songs this song Ted sings the lead and he also plays the second lead guitar solo
In the 70s and 80s Uncle Ted was played at all the parties! He's a blazing fast guitar player - always has been. Saw him in the mid 80s and he melted the makeup and ears right off my head. Free for All is a great one. Hidden gem by Nugent is Writing on the Wall - lead singer on that song is Meatloaf, before he was famous.
I saw Ted about 10 times back in the late 70s and early 80s. I was at that show in Nashville back in the day. The wildest show I saw with him in it was one of Charlie Daniel's Volunteer Jam. He would have about 10 bands or individuals. So Ted was on stage with the caretaker of country music and had his own theater at Orpyland amusement park. That man was Roy Acuff. Two completely different music styles were on stage together Ted and Roy.
I love that y'all are interested in more Ted, I'm going to suggest some of his earliest known stuff from when he was in a band called The Amboy Dukes. They had a song called Journey to the Center of the Mind. The rest of the band was all dressed up in the Psychedelic regalia of the late '60s early '70s, but Ted was wearing a simple suit, standing almost motionless on stage, but shredding his ass off. And yes, Ted was a shredder long before that term was ever being used.
I wish every young soul. Could have seen one of his concerts back then, it was amazing nothing but chaos high energy, the crowd screaming the whole time the whole night
Hell yes Nuge! Love that you guys reacted to this. Living legend. He’s still touring and his live shows are awesome. He shoots flaming arrows at targets during his shows. Motor City Madman. Request: Beartooth-Devastation. Have a great day guys!
......'Gonzo' was a word first coined by journalist Hunter S. Thompson to describe his journalistic style as in 'gonzo journalism', a mixture of realistic investigative journalism with wild flights of fancy. If you like to read check out his books 'Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas & Fear And Loathing On The Campaign Trail'. These really exemplify gonzo journalism. Ted Nugent uses the word to describe his wild style of rock 'n' roll. Check out his band Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes and their psychedlic late 60's hit 'Journey To The Center Of The Mind'...... 🤠
Nobody's quite like Motor City Madman! One of the amazing things about Ted is that he plays that hollow-body Byrdland that in almost anyone else's hands would be feeding back like crazy, but he manages to get such a cool tone out of it.
Ted Nugent played guitar on hit records in three decades. With the Amboy Dukes in the '60s Solo work in the '70s and with Damn Yankees in the '80s. I saw him live in 78. Great show, Then mad can REALLY play.
Please do the song Fred bear. It's about hunting with his old friend who passed away. Fred bear was a professional bow hunter who was an old man when Ted was a kid and was his inspiration to get into archery. Very peaceful good song

Uncle Ted is a master guitarist and performer. You gotta see him live to get the full effect. They don't call him the Motor City Madman for nothing.
Ted Nugent in the late 60s and early 70's would challenge anyone who thought they could play guitar as aggressively and with as much feeling as he can. He is a man of extremes. He is very loud then he goes hunting and is very interested in conservation and nature.
The first half of the solo is his bandmate Derek St. Holmes (vocals and guitar on many songs) then when you hear the tone of the guitar change it's Ted coming in to finish it off to a fever pitch.
Smokey is on point all the time just about on your Q@A s mr Hollywood ! Damn . For real . Yall are cool as hell . Ive watched so many of your vids i feel like i know ya ! Im over here talking to the screen like " good point Smokey ! , but i see what your sayin too hollywood , yeah " HAHA ! Im goofy ! Love yall !
I met Ted in the late 80's in Fryburg, Pennsylvania where he was helping fix some things on his grandmother's farm. We hit it off immediately and have been friends ever since. We share a love of our country and it's freedoms as well as highly nutritional wild game protein and exercising our 2nd ammendment rights. He is an awesome, Patriot and has sent over 10,000 lbs of wild game jerky and meat sticks to our troops who were, at that time, in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Years ago I used to religiously watch this show called “Red Eye” that was on at 3 am and always loved when Ted Nugent was a guest. He’s wild but in all the best ways.
Seen Uncle Ted about 20-25 times being from the Motor City you get that opportunity. Here’s a few songs to contemplate. Great White Buffalo, Little Miss Dangerous, Terminus El Dorado, No No No, Snake Skin Cowboy, Motor City Madhouse is probably his finest, great review btw.
I remember when I was long past going to concerts and having my ears ring. Then I saw Damn Yankees. Ted's solos were so fucking loud my ears rang the next day for the first time in years.
Saw Ted several times. Grew up listening to him and many other heavy metal bands in the 70s and early 80s. One show at the house of blues in Chicago he came out on stage riding a white buffalo which one of his songs was the great white buffalo. After the show with 2 other couples my two buddies went to the washroom and I was waiting there with our 3 attractive young wives. A couple guys approached the girls with backstage passes to the after stage party in back with Ted and the band. When they said yes they were just waiting for their husbands to get back from the washroom they just turned around and went to the next group of women like they never talked to them 😂 rock and roll lifestyle!
This music is from my generation, I first saw Ted in the late 70s and my ears rang for 3 days afterwards. Those were in the good days .... pre-PC, pre-woke, pre-cancel culture. Notice their reactions when Ted says the word "pussy" and they don't even want to speak the word "poontang" ... Jeez!! This younger generation has been spoon-fed nonsense and it's sad.
I love the Acid Bath t-shirt... yall definitely gotta check out their catalog... I personally knew these dudes. Played some shows with them back in the early 90's. Baasses from south Louisiana. Part of the mid 90's New Orleans music scene
