Remote islands offer sanctuary for some of the planet's strangest and rarest creatures. The rare pygmy three-toed sloth enjoys a peaceful existence on an idyllic Caribbean island, while nesting albatross thrive in predator-free isolation.
But island life always comes at a cost. On the Galapagos Islands, young marine iguana must escape an onslaught of deadly racer snakes the moment they hatch from the sand. On the sub-Antarctic island of Zavodovski, life gets more extreme still. Every day, one and a half million penguins risk being battered against the rocks by fierce waves as they try to get on and off the island.

I remember first time i saw this i was on the edge of my seat. This is like the 100th time and i still am. Shouts out to the videography team and the production overall… Planet Earth has to be the best nature docuseries ever.

one of the best wildlife captures on film, unbelievable camera work, we'll not see this beat for a while, the sealions hoarding tuna were second best in my opinion
It is a great moment! I also enjoyed the lions trying to chase down a giraffe and one Lionness went in front to head it off .nand got kicked and trampled as the Giraffe continued running as the Lion fell and theb rolled over before standing up...lucky to be not injured.
Seeing all of those snakes emerge was scarier than any horror movie.
For real I felt sad when they all wrap him up but he escaped so happy for him

Already stated I hadn't seen the source. Original comment states they edited out the birth, which I read as meaning there was knowledge beyond that which the show provided. I also adore the fact that being civil classifies me as a special snowflake. Rather an avalanche than one screaming at the mountain :)

it wasn’t a miracle it was the iguanas perseverance that got him out. he was caught and didn’t give up. never give up until the very end.
