I got tricked by that too. I had seen/heard of espurr. I'm proud I got 33/35. Missed meowstic and leavette or however it was spelled. As a guy who stopped playing pokemon in gen 3 (except for sun/moon) and has not played palworld, I think I did ok.
The shiny form looks so weird when you're used to the color scheme that looks like an actual psychic type rather than a weird electric type

I feel like the convergent evolution lines like Toedscool would be a better argument as the regional variants share the same body shapes, names, and all around similar feel while maintaining unique personalities. Even when they do repeat similar concepts, they can be very distinct, each bird pokemon has unique wing proportions, feet, beak shape, patterns, colors, and so on.

Legit creative to show us redrawn versions of the pals/Pokemon so we can’t use the art style of the separate games to guess whether they’re one or the other. Makes this truly challenging
The 2d pal drawings genuinely threw me off on some of them, if only for a few seconds.
I think they're just the 3D models from both games but rendered with the same shading. You can tell by the way it looks and from some of the pixels.

Hey guys, did you know that in terms of male human and female Pokémon breeding, Vaporeon is the most compatible Pokémon for humans? Not only are they in the field egg group, which is mostly comprised of mammals, Vaporeon are an average of 3"03' tall and 63.9 pounds. this means they're large enough to be able to handle human ####, and with their impressive Base stats for HP and access to Acid Armor, you can be rough with one. Due to their mostly water based biology, there's no doubt in my mind that an aroused Vaporeon would be incredibly wet, so wet that you could easily have ### with one for hours without getting sore. They can also learn the moves Attract, Baby-Doll eyes, Captivate, Charm and Tail Whip along with not having fur to hide nipples, so it'd be incredibly easy for one to get you in the mood. With their abilities Water Absorb and Hydration, they can easily recover from fatigue with enough water. No other Pokémon comes close with this level of compatibility. Also, fun fact, if you pull out enough, you can make your Vaporeon turn white. Vaporeon is literally built for human ####. Ungodly defense stat + high HP pool + Acid Armor means it can take #### all day, all shapes and sizes and still come for more.

I dunno. They "look like" Digimon. I'm no Digimon expert but it seems more like an art style than assets thing on that front.
The Yamask type shown is wrong for the picture. The picture displayed is Unovan Yamask (Pure ghost) and the typing (Ground/Ghost) is for Galarian Yamask.

Palworld doesn't have underwater content (yet?), so all fish type pokemon should have been freebies. Pal has a handful of pals that sit on the surface of the water, or above the water, but none that swim under.
I recommend a rematch that omits all aquatic pokemon, and introduces digimon.

@@fahn.k.3348 The only thing with Digimon is a lot of digimon end up having over the top designs that have Mechanical/Cybernetic appearances or religious appearances that make it too obviously connected to the real world as opposed to the Pokemon world.

Cyborg- WarGrowlmon, WaruMonzaemon, MetalSeadramon
Over the Top Designs- SaberLeomon, Kabuterimon, Shoutmon
Edit: You could also say most digimon are dinosaurs. So if its not a fossil looking pokemon Coelamon, people are just gonna know it’s a Digimon.

@@rikudaman Thats not true. Digimon like Mamemon might get people. But like I said most Digimon, especially rookies are dinosaurs or too over the top. If they are neither of those they tend to be iconic like Patamon.
Digimon just has that edgy appearance. Sure Palworld has guns but Digimon has actual cannons melded/fused to these creatures.
Shoutmon is a literal rookie digimon that has a headset and carries around a Mic Stand. Closest thing we’ve had to that is maybe Hitmonchan with Boxing gloves? Marowak with its club? But Shoutmon is a dinosaur wearing modern day human attire with a microphone so its an obvious digimon.
Edit: If you really wanna throw people off and confuse them, use Temtem or Coromon
I got 34/35 because Meowstic tripped me up since they used the shiny colors instead of the original.
Lucky they didnt say names were part of it because I cant remember any since gen 5 up.
Also I dont think Lily knows about regional variants since she said "Pokemon wouldnt duplicate".

Personally I think the success of the small team of new devs on this game is completely deserved, as long as they stole no assets from Pokémon or generated them with AI
Edit: I don’t necessarily think AI is the worst thing for helping small creators, however that doesn’t take away from the fact that it steals artists jobs (and also it’s likely they didn’t use AI)

Prob so Lily doesn't rely on memory. The purpose is to tell if the designs are easily differentiable.
Shaymin is also shiny, that’s why Lily was like ‘the color looks off’.

It's Drapion. It has the same shape as Drapion. Which is kind of unnatural because Drapion is shaped that way because it's arms come from its head, while this one has shoulders and thus is just posing oddly.

Neither of the Maractus were shiny, although the drawing had miscoloured flowers. The shiny one has pink on its body.
I think there was one more shiny though, the drawing of Leavanny. It's hard to tell with the drawings in general, but the colours are much closer to the shiny than the regular form.

Toast. Munna and Musharna are actually based on Dream Spirits known as a Baku as depicted in Japanese traditional art and the animal Tapir. Its kinda why they have that curve like shape to them.
There should be a difficulty 2, where you play whos that pokemon, but instead of guessing which it is, its again whether its a pokemon or pal.

Toast also could have thrown in a few Dragon Quest monsters to confuse Lily since Pokemon basically lifted designs for a handful of first generation pokemon from Dragon Quest.
There wouldn't be any video then. Dragon Quest Monsters and Pokemon look nothing alike. Some of them are the same animals. Different art styles, different assets, different concepts. There's no way people can get that gold dragon thing mixed up with a dragonite. Theyre both dragons, yes. One is sharp, cool, viscious looking, and the other is derpy looking, and soft. If you looked at silhouettes, they would be very distinct.
It is heavily inspired in the monsters, but the compromise with the community is 100% less lazy and greedy unlike Gamefreak.
So for me its a win/win situation for us the consumers

For those who didn’t know, Lily use to manage a Pokémon forum, which makes this 10 times more depressing, especially since I got almost all of them right and i have played a total of 0 Pokémon games
35/35 nothing was even a question. Lily is such a fake fan. just kidding i see why some of them are confusing. it is clear that the developers grew up on pokemon so the fact some similar features that make them both distinguishable and lovable make their way into designs.
Franky, Palworld managed to be original enough. It definitely took the idea of capturing creatures in balls, which is owned, but they definitely made their own spins and while inspired, original designs, and definitely a different gameplay, which is more akin to ark or rust.

To be fair the artist did make a few mistakes on the pokemon, some of them have completely different colors but yh, I agree. It's a bit too easy

@@nbassasin8092 Because some pokemon are known from their actual colors. Like voltorb being white and red. People actually do think that voltorbs evolution is white and blue. But it isn't. Electrode is still white and red. What I'm saying is that shiny pokemons coloring can make things confusing for some new pokemon players.

Munna actually has dreamy clouds coming out of the circles of its body which isnt displayed in the raw 3d model so its design isnt AS boring as it first seems
