I was on GovPlanet hunting for a Humvee (Life Goals) when I came across this Grand Prix with 300,000 miles and a starting bid of $100. Of course I thought "Why not?" we work on plenty of Grand Prixs around here and it runs and drives, how bad can it be? I won the auction for $132 with fees, then found out just how bad it was. The car was actually falling apart once we made it up to Ft. Riley, KS for the pickup. On top of that the tires were flat and it would fire but not run. We trailered it home and got it directly out of my life!

$135? Sell it to Pick and Pull for $350 and walk away.
Altair Ibn-La Ahad true
350 for a f150, this car probably get 200.
Still a profit, but with fuel you're probable break even for the day.
It's a shame how some people treat their cars.
I have a ‘98 Grand Prix and it runs and drives like a champ, because I have taken care of it.
Sounds exhausting.
Can't have a sagging headliner if you just take out the headliner 😂
"It's just factory orange, bro! "
JR you looking for a Military HummVee, I was up on US 62 outside of Mtn Home Arkansas, was one on the side of the highway $4500
The GTPs were pretty cool cars... supercharged, heads up display (seriously, how awesome is that???), heated seats...
Pull the motor and dump it in the Geo. Maybe the wheels will fit too with some spacers
I literally sold a 99 Grand Am GT for $140 last year... with NO rust! lol
Well then you got ripped off Where I Leave You can probably sell that for over a 1000
@@zen4realfightman426 nah, it had no door panels, all window motors were dead, ran off of 4 cylinders and would flood every time it rained due to old sunroof. Had to call a junk car buyer to come get it. Paid by the pound in metal.
@@MitigateYT o ok
I just bought a Grand Am SE last year for 2K in pretty good condition
i bought a 91 for 1100 and sold it for 1500 after replacing the vacuum lines. cost a few bucks to fix.
I'm so glad you were able to get rid of that car within hours of buying it, I grimaced when you opened that trunk
It had a bunch of Magic cards in the back, sure they were covered in mold but I might have missed that black lotus 😬
I was a sophomore in High school when in '98. I remember when this body style was out I used to love Pontiac back in the day. This was the Sedan but one of my Teachers had the coupe.
It was one of the nicest body styles of any car 20 years ago. I had a black ‘01 GT Special Edition which I sold after a couple of years to get rid of the payment. Years later I bought an ‘02 40th Anniversary Special Edition which I passed onto my 17 year-old son who enjoyed it for about a month before he wrecked it...(!)
great video and good information I've been wondering how it would work when you bought something and had to go on base to get it. Curious to know what that sweet 80s style link music was when you were trailering that thing down the road. Put me in mind of Miami Vice sound track music... yes I am that old.
Think about it. It was in a locked storage area on the military base. It wasn't registered since 2016 and a locksmith had to make a key for and had to get inside the vehicle. It was most likely a soldiers car that never made it home.
Sam Mounce doubtful. It was probably just a soldiers car that was abandoned when he changed duty stations.
@@watchjaredwork1487 Ha, I did that with my Chevy Corsica. Left on the side of the road outside of a storage unit with a mattress on top of it.🤭
That was all quicker than my second marriage!
😂😂
Riley was my first duty station, 92-94. Went back to visit and my barracks was turned into the post Substance Abuse Testing facility, fitting end.
Oh shit chrome rims?! This things loaded ! 😂👌🏼
How do you only have 64k subscribers? Such high quality videos 🙏
I used to have grand Prix se now I have a Buick Lucerne. The Prix never had any problems. But it got totaled. So I bought the Buick, had the Prix rebuilt and sold it for 3,500.
Bro you want a Humvee, just hit up Selfridge up here in Detroit.. They got em rustin away out on Lake St Claire.
Humvee is a great idea! Hope you get one soon or show it soon if you got one already.
That same model of grand Prix.. Was my 3rd car.. Mine was old lady owned and had 200k.. Paid 1000bux back in 2005
I drove that car till it seen 346k
*300k? That L36 is just getting broken in..* 🤣
@Believe Inyourself Most GM owners I know, including me 20 years ago ignored that kind of stuff. We drove around with windows/doors permanently sealed shut, seats that were permanently worn into a ghetto recline position, and dashboards/door panels falling off. We snarled at Toyota/Honda people with perfectly functioning cars.
I have a 96 Buick regal with all working windows only a bit of rocker rust amd only 114k gm cars can last if you keep up with them but the old grand prixs that thing had 300k on it tell me how many American vehicles you know running 300k and if it was taken care of it would go further
Alex Youngberg got 400556 on my 2004 series 3 .3.8 . Original transmission and 3.8 workman’s sound like new .The key is changing oil and filter with synthetic every 5000- 5500 and removing 4-5 quarts dextron 6 every year suctioned out of the trans dipstick tube
David Moore 66 Hi Dave once you fixed rocker rust , if it were my car oil I would spray entire chassis doors and hood trunk wheel wells suspension fenders lower rad mount drill 1/2 holes in pillars and rockers put on oil mist approved respirator doing it annually on my older cars and truck no rust outs , I use chain bar oil for chain saw cooking oil and some diesel fuel 🤨. Just came in from doing my mint1992 chev tracker 4x4
Believe Inyourself sorry I don’t find that at all .First every thing is repair able and available Oem aftermarket and used . Last November I re did my brake on my daily driver 3.8 Grand Prix400000 on the clock front mid priced pads $ 27.99 rear pads 17.99 2 new rear rotors $29.00each . Required a front calliper 3 years ago local rebuilder charged me $ 40 exchange . Service my transmission fluid annually suction it out the transmission dip stick tube 15 min work save Transmission dex 6 for the service cost $20.00 hand suction pump and some fridge plastic water line to get in the dip stick tube $10.00 easy as can be
Your crazy 😂 keep up the great work thanks for the content
Good stuff I love these cheap car videos. 👍
I had one of theres junk back in the day (handed down by my father) had so many problems and couldn’t be fixed.
Hey Jr we have a Ford explorer sport Trac with the break light and abs light on but pads are good what is wrong
Got me a KOVE speaker thanks man!!
Even though it's not a GTP, this Grand Prix was probably really sharp in it's hey-day, love the bright red with the tan interior and chrome rims! Those rotted rocker-panels are known issues on the sedans, no amount of care would have prevented that....as for the rest of the car, it's a shame!
Adam & Jack conspire to drive Victor crazy for a whole episode!
We have two air pumps that are like that water pump.I guess they made as much air as you could ever want!Kansas Treasure!
I sold my 97 Opel Omega (think Cadillac Catera) with 425000 km on it for 100 € last year. That's about 110 USD. It was in better shape and is actually still running today.
And it is rare yet aftermarket parts are Ford!??
It was worth more in scrap
@@jarradmoore6939 Sure, but scrapping it where I live is complicated.
The name of the Song at 2:14 coming out of the Kove Speaker! The bass.
Look in the trunk and check the rear strut mounts. Probably all rusted out
Always thought these cars were real lookers, really wanted a supercharged coupe when I was 16-17(and they were new cars). Shame that the only condition you see them in now days is completely roached out, I still see Hondas, Toyotas, Tahoes and Chevy trucks of this vintage that are clean/presentable. Although 300,000+ miles, I say that person got their worth out of that Pontiac.
Cool nice little adventure👍
I'm really interested in how you deal with the title transfers.
Brings back memories of my old 97 Grand Prix. Such a POS, but it looked nice from afar!
But, sadly, it was far from nice...
Great video man! Btw, I like the Geo Tracker videos!
Editing the next one right now! 🍻
@@WatchJRGo Great! Can't wait✌️✌️
Reminds me of an Army friend, back in the late 1980s, who was driving around an old Vietnam War-era Jeep (not sure if it was a Willys M38A1 or a Ford M151), but it was in astonishingly good condition. He said he found out a section of his Army base was closing and he was able to buy it for $50, unassembled in a crate. He used a friend's truck and a crane to buy four and move these crates to some relative's house where he assembled one, keeping the other three in their crates for later builds and spare parts. He said he had to modify the Jeep extensively to make it street-worthy, such as installing seat belts, turn signals, a better rear end suspension and a roll-cage because these Jeeps were notorious for rolling on the slightest provocation. Due to liability concerns, the U.S. Department of Defense deemed all Jeep series vehicles "unsafe for public highway use", limiting their public use, unless upgraded with a better suspension and roll-cage.
Registering such a military antique may be problematic now, depending on the DMV requirements of the state, but some states only require the vehicle have all the systems it had when it was new in operating condition, such as lights, brakes, wipers, and a muffler for starters. Your left hand is the "turn indicator". Only one brake/taillight as when new. Most states require a windshield, but neglect to say if it has to be in the "up" position, but hand wipers are OK. Seat belts were not available when these were made, so you do not need them, but some states may require them on safety inspections.
Bat Guano - wow, it would be cool to buy a couple of those, assemble one and leave the other in the crate. A great display in the ultimate man cave as part of a collection. I’m thinking they would not be $50 now,,,,,,,,,
WOAH, first order of business in that car is pressure washing the entire inside of it and then spraying some sort of chlorine-based disinfectant everywhere. After that, a gallon of lysol just evenly distributed everywhere inside the car. After that, a large vat of vinegar, like a gallon, leave it open inside the car until all the vinegar has dried up.
Okay, watched a little more and yeah... Maybe not so much with the spending time on it =D
I could have bought a running and driving $155 Toyota Celica in ok condition in Salem, Oregon but I couldn't make it in time.
Just looking at rear seat in your brothers truck made my allergies flare up. 😁
I love your content JRgo
The first 2 generations of front wheel drive Grand Prix’s are the best looking is there another Grand Prix in the future maybe a supercharged one
Haven't watched yet, but for real, Grand Prix KART.
9:54 Thought for a second its Dexter Morgan getting rid of a body .
Cheaper than our latest family shopping to Costco!
These cars get parked on what is known as the Lemon Lot. Fort Sill had one as well.
How much did you make on this car? Or was it just for getting in to the BX? :-)
Hey JR, can you do a fix up on a cheap Acura CL 3L!
I just got one of those speakers from Aldi for $40
good times JR good times... love these flip vids
This one was more of a loss than a flip, still a fun trip though! 💪
@@WatchJRGo you win some, you loose some I guess.
Well I wasn’t doing youtube back then but I paid $100 for a ‘00 Neon in 2011 and I’m still driving “most” of it, the most reliable car I’ve ever owned to date by far.
Amazing deal on that water pump and the f*** is that weird red thing on the end of your trailer
Notorious for the intake manifold problem oil and antifreeze mixing
Well if he gets that Pontiac road worthy, mention it in a future video
LOL You bought an abandoned car because it was cheaper to dump it than try to move it during a PCS or store it during a deployment. Awesome.
Lar Ada-Koski this is correct
6:30 music brings the car to its former glory... kinda
Nice red color. Just the unique paint job is as least $400. And then the suspension, new tires--as least $600? And then the trinket interior, the trim repairs --as least $200???
I assume that was the Ft. Riley lemon lot lol
1:56 Jetta GLX, fun cars
my best friend was a Humvee Mechanic at Fort Riley, now hes in Korea got sent out like feb 7th
Dodged a bullet there ! Even when you fall into a bucket of shit , you still come out smelling like a rose ! Charmed life I guess ! Lol
Congratulations on the sponsor jrgo!!
Whats the pump for?
I got a crazy deal last year for a bmw e46 200$ CAD and the car runs and drives
You should’ve bought that Mercury Sable at that base
The rust coming off happened to my 98 Grand Prix too lol, i don’t know who would pay over $1 for that car
Maybe at the time you bought it... I bought my running and driving Volvo S90 for $100. And yes, that was the asking price. I also got a ‘95 850 for free, but that didn’t run or drive!
Love the tshirt....where did u get it 😁
Did that car have a title for it? How much you sold it for?
Get it running, throw a trip permit on it and run a Gambler 500 with it.
Just when I thought my old '86 Grand Marquis that I bought for $200, about 10 years ago, was the cheapest car purchase off the internet...you go and 1 up me!
Life of Palos brought me here and I am not disappointed at all. I'm subbed now.
Aaron is awesome! Glad you're here 💯
What did you sell the GP for?
Gland Pee.
Nice derby car. compact car heat.
Cool...I was in the Army at Ft. Riley
The cheapest car I bought was a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus for $220 with a bad rod bearing, everything worked perfectly, cold a/c , power everything and I drove it for almost a year with the rod knocking until it got so bad I drove it to the scrap yard and got $250.
Did you see any U.F.O.s when you were at the base?
Where did you get that t-shirt?
That car was once someone's pride and joy. Now, it's a major health hazard, and fit only for scrap.
That loveaudio thing is an aberration. Like we don't have enough noise all around us already.
Is that a picture of a Johnny popper in the back of the truck?
*I actually bought a 01 Buick regal for 125...*
How is it?
@@penopocalypse I want to get rid of it but I cant cuz it's has damage

Well, how much did you make selling it to your friend?
We had a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville V8 GXP
How much did you end up getting for it?
My guy always says "oooowwweeeeaaaa" like mr. Poopybutthold
What is it with 90s GM cars and nasty interior leavings?
What was the sale price?
That car looks like death, warmed up, lol.
Exactly what it was 😂
6:33 me and my grey pontiac grand am gt... I cant believe I was actually in one of his video after watching it and seeing this, that was had me entire year. Its so funny to think about, you can tell by the 2 white stickers on the back which have been on there since I got the car, and me wearing my sun glasses. I bought the car for only 300 dollars and its been a blast ever since and ive already put 20,000 plus miles on it with no issue. Keep up the great videos man!
When I buy the cheap Pontiac Grand Prix I puff on the Cannabis Cigar and get all schmoked up.
Holy shit that's a great ass deal for the speaker
my 2001 Oldsmobile Alero costed me 200 bucks for the whole car lol
It pains me everytime I see a grand prix ran down like this. I had a 99 gtp coupe as my first car and loved it to death. I'm considering getting another one
KOREE KASH there old and falling apart most of them since Pontiac is non existenting company
So, did you make any money on the flip?
What was that track playing on the Kove speaker?
