Also on camera I had Jace Leroy, Kristen Hillier, and Josh Contor who had full freedom to pick their own shots. We also had several other people help who jumped on camera for a little bit while we were filming.

We had one person get hurt filming the video, he was the second crash that appears. He ended up with 6 stitches in his knee cap. The week before we filmed someone had broken their neck on the jump.
On a technical note, it was filmed on a Canon 5D Mark II, 2 Canon 2Ti's, and one EX1. I used a glidecam 4000 HD for all the smooth shots. You can check out the exact model on their official website here where you can also buy them.

We also had an assortment of lenses, Canon and Nikon. My favorite personal lens that I used was a Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L series lens. I used this lens and the Glidecam 4000 HD for the opening couple shots with the biker before the jump.
For the shots with the camera on the biker, we used an HD Surf GoPro. It was my first time working with a GoPro, and I was super skeptical at first because of the small size of the camera, but with its slomo, and easiness to use after you spend a little of time with it, it worked great. And I was surprised how well it cut with the footage from our Canon cameras. No disappointments. All the GoPro footage was shot at 60fps as well, and 720p.

We used the program "Twixtor" for a couple of the shots, which put it in even more slomo then what we shot it at.
I converted all the video footage to ApplePro Res, which I then edited with Final Cut Pro. I then colored it in Apple's Color, it was my first time coloring myself, so it was a learning opportunity.

One of the first videos I remember watching over and over again was Huge Bike jump into Pond. Something that I loved about your videos years ago was that your approach to making videos seemed more simple and doable for anyone with a camera (and glidecam, haha). It wasn't about the lighting or the audio quality or the script, but rather, it was all about capturing the story of adventure. I realize that there is a large group of filmmakers out there that learn a lot from your most recent videos, but I think it's also important to realize that many,
if not most of us, are not professional filmmakers. However, we still have an interest in making videos, and you help inspire us to do so. So thank you! And I'm sorry that it's been difficult to navigate what to focus your content on right now.

heard that the kids on my old street still talk about the time that i rode my bike over the ramp and jumped 4 biikes 2 bigwheels and 2 green machines on our street. I got to ride bikes off docks and beaches, but i never got to jump one into the water like these guys. That guy Supertramp has the radical stuff.

The sound effects when hitting the water is not those in the video. Sounds very off and not right.

The audio is from the gopro that is in an underwater housing. This causes the audio distortion that you are talking about.

Hi! I saw this video long time ago, when i was in my highschool. This was first and the biggest inspiration, that i got, to be a filmmaker. Now im 28 yo and since four years im full time filmmaker.
It's still not the career that i was dreaming- there is still a lot of work to do to fulfill my dreams but it's kind of proof that dreams are available for everybody! I need to thank you for giving me that spark and making me believe that i can do it!
