Sent here by Chris from Highline. Grain filling is something I’ve struggled with. Will have to give this stuff a try! Subscribed. 😊

You won't be disappointed with solarez. I felt the same as you but now I actually look forward to grain filling. Lol go figure. Jeff at Woodessence is great. There's a link to the stuff below.

No surprise that this video came up in my feed. Great job on this Tele shape. Beautiful wood.

Hey, well its because of you that I turned to Solarez. Yes that shape was due to Fender going after me so I had to get creative.I'm so looking forward to using this wood, I have a few more bodies planned with it. It's 2.1 lbs right now. Thanks, I even subscribed to your channel way back.

If you allow that Solarez to sit for 30-45 minutes prior to exposing to sunlight, it will settle nicely. Those little witness lines will smooth out.

Just received my first guitar kit. Body is ash, and I want my grain to look like this video. What product do you use to darken the grain, to color the wood, and to make it gloss? Thanks!!!

@wurls1 I use color fx dyes directly on the wood then sand back leaving the dark color in the open grain. I use Anthem clearcoat from woodessence.com. I will add color dye to the clearcoat as well

How easy is it to sand back? I am looking for a good option to fill some black Limba that has a very similar look as your palwonia. I want something clear as the wood has several brown tones and I don't want to try and color match anything. I know some use epoxy but I like the idea of not mixing anything.

It sands very easily. I use 400 or 600. It dusts up nicely. Its crystal clear.
