I was there in Sydney during the 2007 tour. I remember standing next to this tall behemoth of a dude, absolutely soaking in the tunes. Dude bloody surprised the shit out of me by grabbing me and screamed. "Do you know why they wear helmets" ? I’m 50 years old, and this album played a big part in improving my life. I started regularly exercising during the Covid lockdowns a few years ago, and at first was going with Vangelis for a real mindfulness, focused vibe. Then I found this album and it has become the soundtrack to my workouts. As I’ve progressed, it has gotten to the point where it’s difficult for me to even exercise without listening to this album in chronological order lol. I now associate it with a fully beating heart and sweat.
@@vladimirharkonnen458 I’ve heard that one and it’s good, but I must admit that I’ve listened to the original album so much, that it’s a way for me to time my runs and hikes lol. Like when ‘Burnin/Too Long’ comes on, I know I’ve hit my 1/2 hour minimum. Stuff like that. The whole album really does pair perfectly for a workout.
I used to battle with depression back in 2022. I used to go to this 24hour gym at 2AM because that's when i felt the most energy. I used to listen to discovery and random access memories on the way there, inside the gym, and on the way back. The songs still remind me of that time.
Can’t stress enough how much I pray for a reunion tour to see them live…watching this with my headphones on full volume with all the lights off at 2 am tearing up with the chills. Simply magnificent!
My best friend and I have a running bet; when Alive 2017 didn't happen, we said we'd get matching tattoos if Alive 2027 didn't happen. When Daft Punk "ended", we kinda laughed and then realized that no matter the outcome, we just made a decade long commitment on an album. That's how good Guy-Manuel and Thomas are.
This is what I love about Daft Punk is they can mix their own songs in different ways an play it twice in a concert and no one would be tired for listening it twice unlike DJs today
I'm sure they are planning on it. The last thing Daft Punk has on their bucket list is the most epic reunion in music history, and to do that you have to break up first. Patience.
I was born too early to listen to Daft Punk during the prime time of their music career, and I was born too late to see this concert live. Man, what I wouldn’t give to have been able to see such a masterful duo live.
Keep in mind, electronic music was not as mainstream as it is now. Rock, pop, and hip hop still dominated pop culture. These made such a impact that basically all music in the 10s is because of them and this performance.
I remember when I first heard Daft Punk was playing at Lollapalooza. I begged my mom to go. Her response? "You're too young, you can see them the next time they come to Chicago."
they came to my hometown that summer, their concert was FREE, in a park: can you even imagine! over a 100K people attended. I had a university exam that morning, passed with flying colors, then I went straight to the park early in the afternoon, met some friends, waited for the show to begin (LCD soundsystem opening!), spent the night very close to the pyramid. unbelievable. I'm so glad I've still got vivid memories of that day and night. Years later I keep meeting people from all around europe who where there in the crowd that night. awesome. awesome.
The transition to 5:20 to Oh Yeah is one of the most SMOOTH fucking things ive ever heard transition wise. God I tear up thinking about how awesome seeing this live would have been. At least we still have the video medium.

I attended this gig in Dublin Ireland back in 2007 in the pouring rain… it is hands down my favourite concert I have ever been at. Even while it was happening I knew I would be talking about for the rest of my life. It was just perfect. The way the lights caught the rain… the park was shaking from the bass. Incredible 🖤✨
Oxegen 07, unforgettable! Embarrassingly enough I was convinced to go to the killers on at the same time, legged it to this as soon as I felt the bass behind me, mind blowing, can't believe it was that long ago 😂
Pure genius. On paper as individual songs crescendolls and television rules the nation should never be near eachother and are the last 2 songs you'd expect mixed together. How they managed to do it and make it so good is beyond me. No one will ever live mix them again.
I remember seeing an interview of Skrillex talking about seeing them on this tour when he was younger and on acid. He said it was one of the best experiences of his life and made him want to make electronic music. I forgot where I read it. But I remember it for some reason. I know Daft Punk inspired so many artists to create music. It's crazy how two kids from France made such an influence to pop and dance music. And the crazy thing is, they didn't have ego issues, or anything holy shit bad happen like some artists. They kept shit low key and just did the best they could. One of the few artists that did it right.
They have been part of the French Touch electro-techno music movement. They are the most talented and famous of them but they were quite a few at that time in Paris.
Honestly, a bad thing of being born in the 2000's was to be such a child who couldn't be at one of the best concerts ever. Fortunately, one of the best is to be born in the times UA-cam was conceived so we could watch and listen to Alive 2007 again and again 🤩 DAFT PUNK RUIES 🌟

Words will never be able to describe the sadness I have for not beiong able to experience Daft Punk live. I pray to god they will do a live show just once, anywhere in the world one more time (no pun intended)...
I am 1000% positive that if I attended any of these live gigs I would have lost my mind with sheer excitement. I missed out on this one but still appreciate that this mix up concert can be viewed on youtube.
With just how far stage setups have come in the last 10 years, imagine the epicness of a 2024 show. It would be some of the most mind blowing sh*t of all time.
I lived in Los Angeles from 2002 to 2011 and saw countless legends play live. Prince, Paul McCartney, WuTang. Rage against the Machine, the list goes on and on, artist I never imagined I would see live. But watching Daft Punk play Coachella in 2006 was hands down the single greatest thing I ever saw live before or since. I feel truly blessed that I got to experience that in my life.
One of their first concerts before they were called "Daft Punk" they had a loose wire that affected the sound - instead of stressing out they used that loose wire as an instrument/element included in the music by manipulating it. Legends.
No, they were called Daft Punk by 1994. The story is also somewhat a myth. Thomas used a loose wire to make the synths used in Rollin n Scratchin even more aggressive.
@@nikolai1714 They had only performed together with Julian as Darlin’ previous to this. They released their first single, The New Wave as Daft Punk in 1994, and had not performed any of their homework stuff until 95/96 when they started doing their own sets.
@@nikolai1714 And yes, it is. The actual synth was created using a Juno 106 and distortion pedal, but as I said they used the loose wire to further distort the sound making it more aggressive.
Imagine being Thomas or Guy-Manuel performing live and your nose itches but you can’t scratch it cause you have to perform and you’re wearing those helmets.
15 years later and this music still gives me goosebumps and you know it's good when you get goosebumps. Was listening in car and absolutely love the energy of the crowd - notice my son is getting quite into it so I show him this vid on the TV when we get home - he's loving it! May have started another generation of Daft Punk without even trying
Just knowing I was 4 years old when this happened makes me happy to know I can say I was alive when they preformed. Even tho I was a child I’m still grateful to be in the same timeline as they are

@brandovlogs this tour and the performances given set the new bar for how live performing works. And not only in a DJ setting, almost every single light show or live performance since has taken some sort of inspiration from these two's performance whether they know it or not. It was essentially a huge culture shift for music.

And just got blown away all the way till the end.
They played a lot as DJs before that
opening up with robot rock set it off perfectly
That’s Jim Henson for ya
Daft Punk with an amazing light show and stage set up
Cameraman: I must ZOOOOOOOOOOM
Cameraman 2: I also must ZOOOOOOOOM

I’m 50 years old, and this album played a big part in improving my life. I started regularly exercising during the Covid lockdowns a few years ago, and at first was going with Vangelis for a real mindfulness, focused vibe. Then I found this album and it has become the soundtrack to my workouts. As I’ve progressed, it has gotten to the point where it’s difficult for me to even exercise without listening to this album in chronological order lol. I now associate it with a fully beating heart and sweat.
I'm 50 as well, and this is totally my workout vibe. Try Alive 2007 (LeBlanc Sound Remake).
You guys are both awesome
For me, it's Boris Brejcha live at Grand Palais and Arenes de Nimes while I jog.
Check 'em out - Cercle has EPIC sets from a range of top DJs! 👍
I used to battle with depression back in 2022. I used to go to this 24hour gym at 2AM because that's when i felt the most energy. I used to listen to discovery and random access memories on the way there, inside the gym, and on the way back. The songs still remind me of that time.
The drop at 10:09…still trying to recover from it 15 years later.
Best drop ever created.
@@falpatricknope, I'm sorry bro. Not when we're all still recovering from 5:18
Man what a sick fucking concert. Would have loved to be there. And there's never going to anything like it ever again.
Something better is bound to come. However, pretty sure we won't be there to see them.

Litterly same

Honestly 😭😭
Saw them live twice: Second time was this set at Electric Picnic in Ireland. Best gig I’ve ever been at.
We more than billions doing the same
My best friend and I have a running bet; when Alive 2017 didn't happen, we said we'd get matching tattoos if Alive 2027 didn't happen.
There's plenty of great DJs today. Even more than before because of the accessibility of equipment and software. Stop your soapbox bullshit.
@@sirsbusiness why you mad 😂
I pray to God that one day these two will reform as Daft Punk once again and it will be the greatest reunion in the history of music.
I'm sure they are planning on it. The last thing Daft Punk has on their bucket list is the most epic reunion in music history, and to do that you have to break up first.
Patience.
I don't care where I am in life... if they ever do a reunion tour I will find a way to get to a show
I would travel to the other side of the world and lose every cent I have to see that
@@BalterBlack ill go to fucking Mars to see this.

Whoever directed this is a maestro. The transitions, overlays, zooms, everything is immaculate
literally, and especially for 2007
Bringing back the 1970 sound and doing it in 2000s making it album of the year.
Looks nice, at times it gets over-filtered but ok, the material is good!!
yeah you can tell the guy was a fan XD
Fun fact:Maestro backwards spells STROMAE who's a French artist
I was born too early to listen to Daft Punk during the prime time of their music career, and I was born too late to see this concert live. Man, what I wouldn’t give to have been able to see such a masterful duo live.
at least you're in the prime time of your liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife

Man, I really, really wish that I was a teen in the mid-late 2000s. I missed the mark by about 10 years. This show would’ve been unforgettable
same thought
You should have been there in the late 90s as well. The ridiculousness was out of this world.
You just had to be there, man. It was a really good time!
It was unforgettable. Never forgot.
Keep in mind, electronic music was not as mainstream as it is now.
Rock, pop, and hip hop still dominated pop culture. These made such a impact that basically all music in the 10s is because of them and this performance.
That robot rock still sends chills

Years later I keep meeting people from all around europe who where there in the crowd that night. awesome. awesome.
Starting off 2023 with this iconic set. Another year and they're still the greatest.
This is still top 20 best concerts ever
The transition to 5:20 to Oh Yeah is one of the most SMOOTH fucking things ive ever heard transition wise. God I tear up thinking about how awesome seeing this live would have been. At least we still have the video medium.

I was only 7 when this happened but I still wish I could have seen them live JUST ONCE
So we are.
the sudden realization that you'll never have another chance to experience this in person anymore
you can tell the director in the control room is in a different zone...he is feeling it!!!
Same as guys what a classic concert 💯❤️🇮🇪
Prime Time of Your Life fading into Rollin' and Scratchin' is probably one of the most epic transition I've heard. It's so satisfying
Manifesting them coming back for one last concert. I never got to see them perform live 😭😭😭
fr
Yes 😭
I don't even believe in it but i'm trying it too
I will pay an insane amount of money to see them just once
Fortunately, one of the best is to be born in the times UA-cam was conceived so we could watch and listen to Alive 2007 again and again 🤩
DAFT PUNK RUIES 🌟
I’m now 36 and have seen some of the biggest names in music live over the years this was THE best show I’ve seen to date so happy I got the privilege to witness it first hand ❤

Ever since daft punk retired, I decided to listen to their music to see what all the fuss was about.
I’m glad I started listening now, but at the same time. I wish I discovered daft punk sooner
Better late then never 🤷🏻♂️ started listening to DP this year in early jan 🤘🏼

But watching Daft Punk play Coachella in 2006 was hands down the single greatest thing I ever saw live before or since. I feel truly blessed that I got to experience that in my life.
Damn 2007, why you were so good.
Someone, give me a ride to 2007, there are too many things I would like to do
One of their first concerts before they were called "Daft Punk" they had a loose wire that affected the sound - instead of stressing out they used that loose wire as an instrument/element included in the music by manipulating it. Legends.
No, they were called Daft Punk by 1994. The story is also somewhat a myth. Thomas used a loose wire to make the synths used in Rollin n Scratchin even more aggressive.
@@slyfox333able Yeah, and this was before that. No, it’s not a myth.
This makes no sense 🙌

The best mix ever recorded. Daft Punk bridged the gap between generations and cultures and set the standard for the future of music.
Was at Vegoose show in 2007. Can confirm, it was bigger than life. Also it was the before and after moment for DJ culture entirely, I'll never forget it.
Lucky never got to see them 😪
@brandovlogs this tour and the performances given set the new bar for how live performing works. And not only in a DJ setting, almost every single light show or live performance since has taken some sort of inspiration from these two's performance whether they know it or not. It was essentially a huge culture shift for music.
