Micah has a wonderful imagination! So sorry that you lost a couple Guineas. It was awesome that Josiah saved the White Guineas. So Happy that you all made if through just fine. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you, your family and your adventures.
@@MKCarol-ms7lg Absolutely. Mama Lacy is the ultimate nurse for all creatures, theirs and any wild one in need from the world. Lacy has shown us her compassion that runs deep and her first born boy loves his mama so much and knows how important the guineas are to her that he went out and was able to save the white guinea and bring it to his much loved mama. Just giving Josiah his earned props. Glad you reminded me that Lacy should get her much earned props.
I'm so glad you are okay from the hurricane! Those African geese are huge now! They are pretty! I just put plastic bands on each of my new layer chickens because I let them blend in with the old flock at roosting time. We at least had a barn stall to box all the birds in to catch them for banding. Then we opened up the door and let them meet each other. The new ones pretty much stayed in their stall overnight with the door open. Guineas are hard to catch. You did really well. So sad you lost your Harbor Freight greenhouse in a hurricane. Then the caterpillar tunnel got destroyed too. I'm glad the yurt seems to be storm proof. Thanks for letting us know. God bless you Dickson family. Sorry about losing 3 of your guineas. I love guineas too.
Sorry about the loss of guineas. My chickens all made it. Some of the fencing posts had to be readjusted, but there's bird netting over everything so nothing flew out. Nothing broken here, except for a tree than came down in the driveway. Posted a video of that. Everything else was tied down.
I see Lil Micah got a scratch from trying to catch those guineas in the tall weeds the other day. Your family is a great example for other families and homesteading y'all are a blessing to us
Went through hurricane Ethel in Pensacola (1960) while in the US Navy. The memory that stuck in my mind forever was the snakes crushed on the road along the swamp area from the rescue vehicles coming back and forth. The road was slippery like ice and some of the smaller vehicles were actually having trouble driving.
Wow! That's yucky! I live in the other part of the mainland U.S.A. Washington state. I don't believe that I have ever heard of Hurricane Ethel before. I was born in 1959.
Hurricane Hazel came through the whole area of NC in 1954> hit Appalacian mountains too. My birth mom was pregnant with me then...One of my maternal aunts was named Hazel. lol
I must say…you are very lovely Lacey. Pregnancy is agreeing with you! Your children are great! They all worked together to get things straightened out. You are a good dad Mike.
Glad you are all safe ! It must sound pretty cool inside with all the rain but scary with big storms on the horizon. A bit of a spa day with the baby birds .
I was wondering how the yurt would do in the wind. Im so happy you are safe and the animals are well. A farmers wife is chief cook, bottle maker and washer, and chief animal recue coordinator and nurse. Good job mom!
You guys are so cute together you are such a sweet family I cannot wait for this baby to be born To see another 1 of your sweet babies I just love you guys
Hi Mike I am so glad to see you and your family and to hear you didn't suffer much damage I will continue to keep you guys in my prayers, so sorry for the animals that you lose , but that is part of life continue to stay safe you and your family👍
I've heard of more people living in Yurts in the country now than I ever. In fact, I hadn't seen them as houses before a few years ago. I'd seen some big barns in that design build with brick. Those were really old but nothing was taking them down. Stay safe and well. God Bless. 😁😁👋👋💖💖
Lacey your looking beautiful absolutely glowing, and momma to all that guinea looked so happy to be getting warm in your arms lol 🥰 y'all have a great day much love from your neighbors in SC.
I'm in central Florida and thankfully I had no damage. I'm like you Mike, if we never have another hurricane it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. After seeing the damage from Ian I'm even more anxious just to hear the word hurricane. I'm glad you made it through with very little damage.
Born and raised in Fl. West Central. Use to those hurricanes. This last one Ian was horrible. Killed 100 people and the state is a disaster. So called y’all didn’t get too many high winds and you all are safe and sound. Everyone is looking top notch. Mike your wife is looking beautiful. Pregnancy agrees with her. Always enjoy your videos. Keep them coming. I’m a retired RN with 30 years under my belt. Grew up on a farm. I wouldn’t trade my childhood for anything.
Hi there. Make your self a chook ( chicken ) hook. Get a piece of wire firm enough to hold it's shape and five foot long, bend a shepherds crook in one end big enough to go around a chooks leg without slipping down over the foot. A little food on the ground near the hook ( on the ground ) to kept their attention, wait for the bird to turn away and just lift the hook and put it around the leg, walk up the shaft and slip your fingers around the legs.
We have some friends that have ducks and geese, they fenced in their pond and made a floating feeder that's tied to shore so they can refill it. They have access to shelters up next to the fence. Only ones they've lost were to hawks when young.
Yeah it's bad down here in central FL too. Had to try to buy food yesterday and failing that had to try again tonight ... I got a few little bits of beef liver (which is so.ething I don't like but it's better than no meat for my health. Now I'll suck it up and cope with liver for a few days and stay out of the stores. It's bad psychologically going in and seeing all the empty space day after day. I'll be praying for y'all!
I'm so glad y'all are alright❤ poor birds probably were scared I'd be too. I'm also thankful nothing happened to your yurt. 🤗❤👍 have a great day you guy's
Things can be replaced but y’all can’t! Glad you are safe!
Amen Jan ! 💚

!!
Glad to see that y'all are okay God bless
I'm impressed that your family caught those guineas. From what I hear, they're much harder to capture than chickens.
They are.
