    Maja blanca is a yummy Filipino dessert made from starch and coconut milk. Coconut pudding is also a famous name for this dish. Maja Blanca is a simple and easy dessert to prepare. This version makes use of an additional ingredient: corn. This makes this Maja Blanca version one of the variations, which is more known as Maja Mais.
    Maja blanca is similar to gelatin or “gulaman” in terms of texture. It has an off-white color because of the coconut milk. Maja is best served chilled with some toasted grated coconut or latik on top.

    MAJA BLANCA:1 cup corn starch, 1 cup white sugar, 4 cups coconut milk , 2 table spoons cream kernel corn, 1/3 cup whole kernel corn.. ( do not use any fresh milk or condensed milk so you will taste the pure corn and know the original maja blanca), Mix all ingredients but mix first the cornstarch and sugar..Then put on fire, stir constantly and contineously for 1 hour. Spread latik evenly on top.. serve hot or cold.

    Thank you panlasang pinoy for this recipe. it was yummy and very easy to cook the only thing i can suggest is instead of putting 3/4 cup of sugar make it 1/2 cup as i find it very sweet . i tried it again for 1/2 cup of sugar and it was just perfect. the rest of the ingredient i leave it as it is. thank you!

    this one i tried today too! it was really good except it was too sweet for those sugar-conscious
    tips: i'll omit the 1 cup sugar ot make it 1/2 cup instead,
    make sure it is a deep dish so the maja blanca is nice in presentation,
    otherwise i'll make this again..it was really good!!

    now i know kung bakit yung mga ginagamit mo na coconut milk puro nasa lata kase states walang fresh na gata...di tulad dito marami...pero siguro naman masarap pa naman kahit de lata yan....thanks ulit sa video marami akong natutunan.

    nicknc, using flour or rice flour will change the texture. It wont have the consistency that we need. Hope this helps.

    How to make LATIK.. prepare 4 cups of pure coconut milk, put in a pan, boil and stir contineously til coconut oil and latik comes separately out. Continue stiring til latik becomes golden brown. remove the coconut oil from pan. mix latik with 1 teaspoon sugar, stir for 1 minute and remove from pan.

    I often mix and match flavors to give this all time kakanin a flare. I've tried adding yam, chocolate, langka and pandan.. i air dried the langka, chopped then mix.

    Can I use almond flour or coconut flour instead of cornstarch. And also I'm not using sugar so any other alternatives than sugar. Thanks

    nagawa ko na sya hehe maganda ang kinalabasan hinde gayang gaya ang mga sukat ng ingredients sa tingin ko ndeh nman kailngan na gayang gaya pwd nman tikman kung tama na sa asukal tama naba sa tamis .. depende ren nman kung ano ang gusto nyong kalbasan matamis oh medyo matabang ...     Thank u so much 4 ths recipe , Its amazing, i was craving 4 this recipe for a long time . I got 5 recipes of maja blanca from my frens n family but it turns out to nothing when i tried it.. Finally i got the best recipe .... I used cheddar for the toppings ,instead of using grated coconut..YUmmmmy awesome .. 100 Thumbs up for ur effort n ur site !!! more power !!!

    ako dati gumamit ako ng flour, at super nang naluto lasang tinapay hindi na maja blanca hehehe, can i suggest...for peanuts(grind) instead of grated coconut, then maybe siguro pwedi rin dagdagan ng maliit na sago ung whole corn. :)

    i made this last night and put it on thr fridge hoping to get the perfect texture. but then its still soft. can i re-cook it again and put some cornstarch perhaps? thanks

    i love u'r video. i tried this but i dissolve the cornstarch directly to the milk mixture. hbang tumtgal npncn q ngbuo buo n xa. anu b pwedeng gwin pra mging ok result nun?

    @GESSMITHful here in the UK it's basically just normal table sugar (sucros) that u put in coffee or tea. It's usually white, refined form and the brand like SilverSpoon has them.

    @applejoymatris yep, in the UK corn starch and corn flour are the same, although some countries have these products as separate types of flour. But the corn starch's purpose is to make the mixture thick.
