When elder Ephraims says - "She brought him and he was praying day and night. However, I knew he had not confessed"- Does he mean his father was praying day and night or his mother?

    • @BegoMekerTube2127
      @BegoMekerTube2127 2 роки тому +16

his father was actually praying; some people actually like in the protestants confuse the sacrament of Confession with prayer. Confession is Confession; you must go to the priest and confess, no other way. I know a real miracle where some guy committed a sin and did not confess but died. God gave him a chance to raise him from death and confess. My grand father loved St. George and used to give alms in St. George's name and at old age, my grand father fell and hit his head on the floor, was clinically dead. My grand father told us while he was in that state, a young man asked me "why did you come here without confessing and taking the Holy Communion?" , ordered him to go back and confess and take The Holy Communion. After he wake up he actually confessed and took Holy Communion and lived another 8 very holy days at home. Spiritual life is more real than this temporary life but we are so confused we reversed it. We make the temporary world (almost a bubble) like something real and the real spiritual world like secondary.

At the general resurrection, when the soul is again join with the body, we either enter the Kingdom of Heaven, or we suffer in Hell/Gehenna. Which is Eternal.
The Orthodox know from the experience of many holy people and saints that souls in Hades Sheol can be prayed out and into
Paradise, since they have not yet been judged.
See how simple the issue is now that you understand it? Now please repent and come to the Orthodox faith, time is very very short. God guide you
When we die, our soul "rests" in either a state of Paradise/bliss, or in Hades- a place of torment. This is the state in which the Elder's father was in- in Hades, in anxiety over knowledge of what would happen next. He had not been judged yet, since the judgement happens at the second coming of Christ and the general resurrection. But in death, the soul already knows where it is headed, even if it has not been judged yet.
Souls cannot exist Hades because they have no body with which to repent/ confess.
But Hell is a different thing. We are told we will be judged in body and soul.

I am Byzantine Catholic and I like listening to these Elders give their spiritual wisdom, however I have one problem with this video. The orthodox don't believe in purgatory [which, there are references to it in the Bible]. I believe that the Lord didn't pull his father out of hell, but he was in purgatory instead. No one can leave hell. Ever. The Bible and Jesus has said that once you are in hell, you are there forever. Matthew 25:41 is one reference of everlasting hell. Additionally, when Lazarus was comforted by Abraham and the rich man was in hell, Abraham told the rich man he cannot have Lazarus cross over to give him some water. No one can cross over. In Luke 25-26, it says, “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great CHASM has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ But, there is a place similar to hell, to spiritually purge yourself before going to heaven, since no one can enter heaven without being spotless. Heaven is a place for Holy Souls only. We all need to be purged in purgatory before entering heaven, if you die in God's grace. You can't get out of hell - ever. The references to hell in the Bible are about weeping and gnashing of teeth [and the rich man's agony in a place of fire] is hell. God gave us the intellect and spiritual communion with him to connect these dots to understand there is a purgatory. This video just proves Orthodoxy to be wrong on this topic, for me.

Thats not entirely true because there exists a judgement before the final judgement. Souls judged at the final judgement may no longer be benefited from the prayers of the living, whereas they can before the end of this era. In other words it is the prayers and the offerings of the living that are able to help and free a person from (temporary hell), not fire itself. What is happening right now, the souls of those condemned are in a place of torment without body, and likewise those judged for their rightfulness are experiencing the joys of paradise, again bodiless. They may be helped and benefitted by the prayers of the faithful. After the final judgement however both the condemned and the righteous will be resurrected both body and soul, to be judged according to their deeds. This time however their resting place will remain final for eternity. There is no purgatory, but the souls of those who have passed away are judged accordingly, and remain in their respective places until the final judgement. The difference is they are without body now and can be helped by the prayers of the helpful. After the final judgement a souls resting place is final and eternal.

It amazes me how many such stories one hears from Orthodoxy's holiest men and women. And yet, they are more willing to believe that one was delivered from hell, than to allow for such a thing as Purgatory. Hell being a permanent place of damnation, as attested by all of the Fathers... this they will flout, in order to avoid the so-called "heresy" of Purgatory. But they will none the less tell such stories for centuries with the greatest enthusiasm and conviction, describing Purgatory with such verisimilitude, one would naturally conclude it was their own doctrine. False Teaching. Hell is Eternal. JESUS has the keys. Lazaruse's prayers couldn't get the rich man out of hell and neither can anyone elses.

Where is it written in the Bible that Lazarus prayed for the rich man so as to free him from hell? It is the contrary, the rich man asked to speak to Lazarus and to the prophet to warn his brothers.

@@gabri3l875 My point is that departed souls have ZERO power to free another soul from hell. So it's pointless for people to be praying to "saints" to free their loved one's from hell.

@@dustindustindontworry-jz8dh no it's not. Of course it depends if the soul you're praying to is a Holy one.

Hell is eternal. You must learn to understand Hell properly dear friend.
When we die, our soul “rests” in either a state of Paradise/bliss, or in Hades- a place of torment. This is the state in which the Elder’s father was in- in Hades, in anxiety over knowledge of what would happen next. He had not been judged yet, since the judgement happens at the second coming of Christ and the general resurrection. But in death, the soul already knows where it is headed, even if it has not been judged yet.
Souls cannot exist Hades because they have no body with which to repent/confess.
But Hell is a different thing. We are told we will be judged in body and soul.
At the general resurrection, when the soul is again join with the body, we either enter the Kingdom of Heaven, or we suffer in Hell/Gehenna. Which is Eternal.
The Orthodox know from the experience of many holy people and saints that souls in Hades/Sheol can be prayed out and into Paradise, since they have not yet been judged.
See how simple the issue is now that you understand it? Now please repent and come to the Orthodox faith, time is very very short. God guide you

Hmmm. It seems God in these rotten days is doing a lot of mistakes. There were times when it was safe listening to Orthodox people. Now, you have to go back to the Holy Bible everytime someone who claims Orthodoxy speak about death! But hey such a teaching is very Eastern and Not Western at all!!

Fr E. Embodies all the superstition that is characteristic of the heretical Roman Catholic Church. His behavior isn’t holy it is bizarre!!!!
