Bootsy on IG often just giving love. I knew him from James Brown then Jungle Bass was the first cassette I could find. Then even later I found Hardcore Jollies on 8-Track at a thrift store but my parents still had an old 8track/record stereo system in storage. Great passive speakers. Older tech, but what bump! That was my stereo system and fave 8track in high school in1990. I also liked They Might Be Giants and Butthole Surfers. Music is weird but just good.
All music is recycled. It’s all influenced by other artists and the genres that they grew up on. They integrate it with the new sound. Maybe instead of judging, we can support them for paying homage to the old school while creating at the same time.
I didn't realize Elmo from Sesame Street was on this Bootsy cut mane!!! LOL I remember when George Duke tried to emulate Bootsy'$ sound a few of his tunes after this Jam on "Dukey Stick" and "Reach for It"

Let's be honest. Dr Dre and a lot of other beatmakers recycled old funk songs. They never created a particular sound of their own. Only recycled stuff
Dr. Dre was pretty good at structuring it into a more consumable pop package. Funk can be meandering at times.
@@tooprime9938 You are 100% correct. He and other beatmakers know how to pick portions of a long funk song.
Erick Sermon did it before Dr. Dre!
Well, not exactly. Taking what they loved and evolving it into something else, that takes inspiration and talent and well...
