"we need to prioritize certain demographic groups because they're disproportionately affected" is such a bs excuse. if you completely ignore the demographics and give aid based solely on individual need, the most affected demographic group will automatically receive the most aid, and that aid will go to the most affected individuals in that demographic group, not to people who don't really need it but get to cut in line because they happen to have a certain skin colour.

My job (big shipping company) seems to prioritize the females who are more.... tan... for promotion. Completely ignoring competent males and females of paler colors, despite work ethic and ability or "seniority" which is *supposed* to be the rule. These race discrimination in appraisal stories drive my crazy! I AM AN APPRAISER. I have been one for over 20 years, about 10 of which has been spent doing differing levels of appraisal reviews. It likely has very little do do with staging, but simply a marginal difference of opinion. It is VERY RARE, when comparing 2 different appraisals completed by 2 different appraisers on the same property, that they come in at the EXACT same value. I have seen opinions of market value differ by greater than 20%. This is because things like quality, condition, view, etc. are very subjective. Also, adjustments applied to comparable sales can differ depending on the appraiser's methods. Also, just like in every profession, some appraisers are better than others. APPRAISERS DO NOT CARE, AND OFTEN DON'T EVEN KNOW THE RACE OF THE PEOPLE LIVING THERE. People who think there is some grand conspiracy by appraisers have no idea what they are talking about.

Being an appraiser for over 30 years I can tell you I have never seen an appraisal done differently due to the race of the owner. It is difficult but not impossible to significantly over or under appraise properties especially today with licensing and appraisal management companies. There is no good reason an appraiser would fudge a value at the risk of law suits, loss of business or loss of license. Also, the furnishing of a house are meaningless Shaun, that is only important to impress the potential buyers.

EVERYONE in Florida shops at Publix, they are conveniently in every neighborhood and they are the best grocery store probably in the country with the best service. Florida residents would probably complain if it had gone anywhere else first.

I would love to see a large study on when different groups of people acquired and dropped certain attitudes about things related to COVID.
For instance, I'm conservative. COVID popped up on my radar in late Dec 2019. I started to become concerned (acquired masks and essentials, started disinfecting high-touch surfaces daily) in mid-Jan 2020. I stayed similarly vigilant through about April 2020. I maintained a hesitancy about large gatherings through the end of 2020, because I have some unique medical issues. I loved the Americana/Moon Shot aspect of Operation Warp Speed, but have long had a policy of not taking any medication until it's been _in the market_ at least ten years, so I knew that wouldn't be for me.
I found it really interesting that the Democrats in my family didn't truly start to worry about it (and stop making fun of _me_ for worrying) until I wasn't as concerned anymore (and then I became some sort of denier). The only thing they agreed with me on was Operation Warp Speed, until about January 2021, when they changed their minds.
Just the other day I saw a teenager with brightly colored hair, a crop top, and a mask. It genuinely broke my heart to think that this (beautiful, if misguided) young woman, in the prime of her life, is so afraid of COVID _three years on_ that she's still wearing a mask -- and has no one who loves her enough to tell her she _has_ to stop wearing it, or needs to see a counselor about becoming comfortable enough to take it off again.
Your time-line and policy concerning medications are so similar to mine. It's been a wild ride watching this change and liberals memory hole the way things happened.
My partner still wears the mask and I can't convince him not to. He's got a lung condition so I understand his fear but he won't hear that the mask doesn't do anything re covid. It's pathological. He would rather wear his filthy mask he hasn't washed in weeks. I've been hoping he'd just come around in time and with new info but he hasn't. He never got the vax because he feels the same about new drugs on the market but seems arrested mentality regarding the rest. It makes me sad. He's not unintelligent.
I learned about it Jan 2020 and stopped caring by March. I was still concerned for others for a while but we should have never worried about it let alone even have heard about it.
Yeah. I found it hilarious that people were saying that Covid wasn’t airborne during the beginning, while I was masking up in January and February. I was called a worry-wart for months until it was “discovered” that it was airborne. I just laughed over the phone.
Anyone who knows anything about viruses knows that any respiratory virus spreads through the air. Otherwise, it would go extinct. Most of my friends still think it’s spread via food or water, when it isn’t. I just don’t understand how they don’t follow what we learned in science class.

Not really an appropriate topic for the work place, but some blatantly admit they do not do research or check facts and shrug it off like facts just don’t matter. They are actually disgusted when actual sourced facts are brought to their face.

'Ear R*p*' . . . the audio editing technique you tried to achieve - by turning the volume of Ana up to super-loud volumes - is not how it's done, the effect of insane volume is achieved through distortion / saturation, you can get things to sound really loud and over the top without actually turning the volume up, without having your audience suddenly having to grab for their earphones to rip them out to prevent ear damage.

Great work Sean on debunking the “appraisal wuz reeeecist” issue 👍 I am in real estate, and it’s patently obvious that the story is bs bcuz that would be completely illegal and the appraisals are set up by also taking 3 other properties into account (comps) so this story on its face is sus. But thx for digging into it.
I don't think people fully understand that even the color on the walls and bathroom tiles will affect it. It's because if it's some weird color it's going to be something 99.9% of the population would want changed. Same for the exterior. There are so many factors that play into it unless all the properties appraised were completely identical down to materials used to build them, that's an impossible claim to prove.
Yup. And here's the clincher.... the way these hoaxes were "set up" is that they simply wait for a property or two in their neighborhood to sell high before getting the "white person's appraisal"... in other words, they are using data points from different time periods during rapid housing market growth to falsely represent as racist discrimination when the appraisals are done. It's laughable really. That's also why they won't let anyone independent assess their claims. It would be all too easy for an objective appraiser to look at the two numbers and easily justify them based on what the market looked like when the appraisals were done.

The fact that they could lie and defend everything the ad talked about is really sick. It doesn’t matter what race you are, EVERYONE should be against any sort of racial discrimination coming from the government, every single time.
I have a lot to say about the rest of this, but since I live in Florida, I have to comment on that bit particularly. And, my life (me, my husband, and our daughter's, that is) was indeed ruined by Ian, and the federal government literally gave us $1,000 in FEMA funds to repair our house... that was flooded with about 2 feet of water that sat in the house for DAYS because we couldn't even get back there to try to shop-vac it out of the house, our roof was damaged, sewage backed up into the house and mixed into the flood water, almost ALL our belongings were ruined, all our furniture was ruined, etc., etc., and somehow $1,000 is going to cover about $25,000+ in repairs and replacements, if not more, and we are poor. And there are other people that got $10k, $20k, etc. None of it makes sense. But, I can't help but be suspicious, especially considering it ASKS YOU YOUR RACE (and sex, etc.) at the end of the FEMA applications, and it specifically outlines that the reason they're asking is so they can collect data on whether non-whites are getting less or whatever and so they can use that data to change policy, etc. to get to a point where we have "equity." I can't remember exactly how they worded it, but they tried to make it sound less like it really is, but they specifically said that's why they were asking.
But yeah, and the reason DeSantis (or really, other state officials, as mentioned in the video) wanted the vaccines in Publix locations specifically is because.... PUBLIX IS LITERALLY EVERYWHERE HERE. There are Publix stores *within walking distance* of many neighborhoods, including poor neighborhoods. My neighborhood is relatively poor (not dirt poor, but some of the cheapest houses in the area, for sure), and there's a Publix right there, basically inside the neighborhood, and tons of people are close enough to walk to it if they need to. Publix is all over the place.

I have been a RE Appraiser for over 25 years; when appraising a property I am looking for upgrades and items that need to be repaired on the interior and exterior. Staging is what realtors do for potential buyers, not for Appraisers, I don't give a rip about the type of furniture and how nicely a house is decorated. WE Appraisers are looking at items that are permanently affixed to the house and site, we do not look at personal items. If two Appraisers are within 5% of the final opinion of value, that is considered to be credible results. When completing an appraisal inspection of a home it is very rare that the buyers will be at the property at the scheduled time, unless its a refinance, then I am meeting the owners at their house. Its horrible that I have to defend my trade to false accusations.

The disproportionality of the business owner races and how much business lost entirely likely has to do with the focus of said businesses. Such as with women, hair dressers would have been especially vulnerable to physical distancing requirements while if a restaurant can do app delivery then they will see less of an impact.

1) I agree with your points and they are as well researched and reasonable as usual.
2) I can no longer trust putting one of your videos on when I can't reach the audio controls. The massive spike in volume for Anna is just too much. I have my audio adjusted to a certain level for a reason and don't need to be attacked by goofy editing. That made me so mad I am actually considering unsubscribing and I like your videos generally. I just can't risk them auto playing now.
Then don't watch them when you can't control the volume. I feel you though lol it's like when you're watching a movie and they're whispering one scene so you turn it way up then the next scene is a bombardment of explosions and screams.

Hi. I make six figures as a *disabled cat breeder.* Mostly self taught, did a ton of homework, and just bought the best from the best, as well as learned things here and there. I can barely walk more than around the house a little, but it's enough to tend to the litter box (top of the line self cleaning boxes help), move cats to either switch them so that the boys (the ones that get along. Our dominant male is very aggressive.) and girls can switch from the story of the house with my bedroom to the more open lower floor, which will eventually have a cat door to a well-screened in catio (patio for kitties!)
I'm also a graphic and web designer, band manager, and in talks with a few different carpenters to help me make fully custom, down to the carpet used, even interconnected trees that can span a whole wall, and large breed friendly. I breed European Maine Coons and my males always hang off of normal cat trees. 🙂 Should be a good business in conjunction with my cattery.
I'll say it. I hate the poor. If I'm succeeding just breeding cats, working for bands and local businesses (I did work for a record company, but it was closed by the CEO for mental health reasons.) I still make plenty just freelancing.
My husband makes 200K per year himself. We are quite the power couple.
