    I’ve watched all the IFR videos you and Karin have uploaded. I’ve just started my IFR training. I especially love the comment about using the airplane’s inherent lift when trimmed for level flight to not overload the plane. Never thought of it like that before. Thanks for adding to my aero knowledge... Keep up the great work Karin...

      Michael, Glad you are enjoying the videos. We are in production on the next one now. Good luck on your Instrument Rating. It’s a big challenge but it’s fun and rewarding.

    This is an amazing video Mike and Karin. I also fly a G6 and I really appreciate your emphasis on trimming and letting the plane work for you. Great work you both!!

      Thanks Marlon. We will keep making these videos and trying to make them better each time. I'm learning how to make the videos more fun and interesting so hopefully everyone will see the progress in the quality.

    Great explanation of lift vectors. Just the way you say it makes all the difference. Thank you Karen and Mike.

      Thanks Tracy, my explanation in the plane wasn't exactly, technically 100% correct but it got the point across to Karin which is what I was trying to do. It's funny, when you see yourself instructing and hear yourself, what you are thinking in your brain isn't always what comes out of your mouth and the camera catches it all.😂😂🤷‍♂️

      mikegoulian it made total sense to me. It was like a light bulb moment even tho I’ve taught it myself I’ve never really explained it like that. I’m going to use this in my lessons. Keep the videos coming! And good luck Karin ✈️

      Thanks, she's doing great. For whatever reason, she has always lacked confidence in her landings. I'm pushing her to be comfortable with them without me helping. Hope you like the videos. Make sure to tell your friends if you like what we're producing.

    Michael is a consummate professional .. always teaching .. "give way to that .. " "keep that nose up . like that .. that's beautiful" "see how much rudder you need though .. "hold that Rudder, hold that Rudder, hold that right Rudder " "Put the airplane in the command bar pleeeeeseeee:" I really enjoy this video! Lots of fun memories when I learn to fly at Executive Flyers many years ago!

    Karin is awesome. So calm through all the procedures. Thanks for leaving in the details like radio calls and spotting traffic. I wonder if Karin was cheating a bit on the unusual attitudes by leaving her hand on the controls and following what you were doing to the plane when her eyes were closed.

    Great video, thank you.
    So I understand the going to level and letting the extra speed and level flight trimming bringing us back to level flight. But, not quite sure about the other case. The slow flight, pitched up. I can see the pitching down, but why also the slight banking to correct?

    What is your opinion on turning on and off the boost pump. A lot of Cirrus pilots say that due to the possibility of vapor lock issues they leave the boost pump on continuously. What is the right thing to do? Thanks.

    • @mikegoulian
      @mikegoulian  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Craig, Pretty much everyone I know leaves the Boost Pump on at all times in the SR22T. I've owned three of them and did that. The airplane seems to be a little "happier" with the Boost Pump on in a Turbo. For the 22NA most everyone I know shuts the Boost Pump off during cruise and then turns it on during the landing checklist. I've personally never had any vapor clock issues but I've never flown a 22T above FL180 or a 22NA in high Density Altitudes in hot weather. I'm sure if you work a 22T hard on climb to a high altitude during the heat of the summer or a 22NA in high DA conditions you might encounter some vapor locking. IMO, the Cirrus Checklist does a pretty good job of explaining this and giving the pilot guidance. Hope that helps. MG
