- Elivia Frixou is very clear about not wanting a cliché wedding dress, so her entourage are perplexed when she comes out with a traditional wedding ball gown.

She has a nice body, but the dresses make her shape look weird.
Her figure is difficult to dress but could look absolutely stunning in the right dress. These threee dresses did nothing for her, unfortunately.

I agree. It swallowed up her torso and made her bust look enormous.
What was going on at the waist?? It looked like it was bloused or she had a huge belly, I couldn't tell, and then she turned around and it still looked weird; and it looked like disco nylon or something.
@@laurakerschenbaum4079 at first I thought it was bunched because it didn't fit, and then I wondered whether the line was where her undergarments pinched her waist. It would be interesting to see how it looks in the proper size This one gave a top heavy look.

Well this is first time to me the budget was high and they showed lower budget dress.. the guy is a rugby player. Maybe, they asked them to show low budget dress jn secret so as to maintain the reputation.. I find no other reason..

I agree. The last one was no better or worse than the others. Hate to say it but it *was* just... nice. Nothing special. It always surprises me what the brides and their entourages go for and what they think is "different" or "unusual". I'm watching, thinking, "Oh that's awful. They're not going to like that one!" and then they're all "Ohhhhh Sally (or whoever) THAT's the ONE!!!" You'd think I'd be used to it by now but I'm constantly gobsmacked.

I have started to feel that David is just a good on-screen personality. I feel Gok, Monte & Lori and Randy are much much better when it comes to really highlighting the bride with the best dress
David was known as a designer from the eighties- and I hated that dress no matter how many millions it is worth. Everyone else is a sales director first. Having said that my favorite dress ever on the show is from David's store

The last dress was not even "just nice" I just looked basic boring and if I'm being honest it does not make her shape look nice

There is nothing different about this dress at all, it’s actually really horrible and makes her look huge. I feel bad for her. I think her friends were just trying to make her feel good. Honestly she looked better in the robe.

You know what’s even worse is that this is the U.K. version, so the prices are in pounds not dollars. Meaning that the budget she has is SO HIGH in dollars, if you convert £6000 to $ she probs has a budget of $7500-8000 which is ENORMOUS

For me it is even enormous.. i live in Mauritius Island. Here we use Mauritian rupees. £1 equals to Rs.40-45! Depends on change!
Here we can get very well made dresses for Rs.25,000. (Which is less than £500)
When relatives from uk come to Mauritius for weddings they buy all their outfits here.
Actually, she had over $7,000 to spend; pounds sterling was L6,000, but in USD, it would be $7,741 at today's rates.

This is the first time I've seen negative comments about the last dress and completely agreed. The dress is just hideous and does nothing for her. Just yikes
What was wrong with the bodice? It looked like a fat roll, very bad fit and the dress made her shaped like an ice cream cone. She needed an a line to offset her slim hips and flat backside. She had too large chest and shoulders for that dress shape.

@5:25 from back on the dress looked amazing on her butt area. It was quite flattering but the top half at the front didn't seem to suit her as well.

ive seen that dress too many times, this show should be called say yes to THIS Dando London dress.
That's due in very large part to the fact that Christine Dando, the designer of the Dando London line of gowns (or the Dandelion line...) is also the owner of the store in which David Emmanuel is a consultant. He has no say in which gowns come in, and he has to promote Ms. Dando's gowns above all others.
In the UK its Dando London, in the US they all choose the same Pnina Tornai stripper dress. And think they are original.
I have nto seen this particular one before. I think the one the bride said "no" to in the dressing room was the one I've seen multiple times.

Kathleen, often the very first dress is already over budget so there would be much more options to try and the bride doesn’t know the price until after the dress is on and can be emotional about it. And for many get budget isn’t just a number but you need to cut something else out of your wedding if the dress is over budget.
To be honest, the only things I loved were the denim boots.

I actually wonder if the entourage was really on board with the dress she chose in the end. Seemed more like they saw she liked it and then said it looked great, but I can’t imagine they were all convinced by this dress and how it looked on her. I just hope alterations made it work better for her body!

She hasn't got much butt or hips. She is very busty. The 1st dress was pretty on her but too lacy. The second one, the top was very flattering but she needed a skirt with a little flare or a line to offset her bust. 3rd one not too good either.
@@christine3941 thanks for the heads up. The dress she wore was beautiful. It also looked a lot more comfortable to wear for a long period of time. I wonder how many brides who appear on this show actually wear the dress we see them pick.

She's an example of someone with a body type that's harder to dress than you might think - triangle (large chested with small to average everything else so curves primarily on top). I know she didn't want strapless (maybe thought it's cliche?) but a corseted sweetheart a-line or fit-and-flare would have probably suited her figure best.

I have a similar shape as the bride and it is very hard to fit. She needed shape wear and an honest but kind entourage. I would never have let her leave the store with that choice. The staff should be ashamed.
The first dress looked best on her. I think the wedding party were so worried that the bride would look typical that they forgot she wanted phenomenal. None of the dresses made the cut. I think the bride's original instinct for A-line would have been perfect for her vision and shape.
It looks like a negligee. Could have done much better with that budget.

Then I watched.
It’s hard to pass final judgement because the dresses are clipped on and aren’t tailored. Having said that, none of these popped. Not a one. The last one will look much better once it’s tailored and she’s wearing shape wear.
This series has completely changed my mind about David Emanuel. He's so completely lovely!!
