After seeing the bar, I am thinking of going the same on my Wildtrak. Are you putting brush bars on as well as steps? Are you stiffening the rear suspension up for towing the van? I am thinking about some airbag man HP bags. Have them on my Y62, and they do a great job when towing........ Look forward to next instalment.
Thanks mate. No brush bars for me. I’ve wrapped the car with PPF panel protection so this should be sufficient for light scratches etc. Not planning to upgrade rear suspension at this stage. Handling the weight of our van quite well. May be something I’ll consider down the line if I opt for a lift
Question: I have a 2020 Ranger 4x4 … How does the bull bar work with having the factory front sensors from beeping or even functioning to prevent front close contact?
I’m sure you’ll get access to a lot of the mods, and you’ll get some other unique items in the local market. I’m eager to see what other countries come out with
Mate how much sag you get in the front of the car With the bulbar and winch without upgrade of suspension? Is it to much? and what are the negatives of having all that without the upgrade of suspension? Im looking to get the iron man bar as well but i just cant afford the suspension.
Hi Ray. I’ve driven 6 months on the standard suspension and surprised how well it coped with the additional weight of the bullbar and winch. I did find it challenging offroad on a rocky track and have a few war wounds to show - however have proved you can do a lot on standard suspension. No scrubbing on 33s - assuming you stick with a similar wheel/tyre combo (285 70 17) and +30 offset. You’ll see in upcoming videos a 2” lift added which will give me the right balance for off-road and towing 👍
I think spotties will generally push out more light and are directional so you’ll have a bit more adjustment. Main reason for lightbar was to not limit airflow into the radiator and pretty happy with the amount of light it pushes out - certainly ample for my purposes
G’day. Seals are pretty good in the tub. Little dust gets in if I do big drives on dirt roads, but I’ve added a tailgate seal which has helped. No issues with rain/water.
The guys at 4x4 extras drilled a hole through and bolted from the bottom. They added a rubber plug to stop any water entering. Looks quite neat. They also placed the bracket on a foam pad to stop any vibration and level out. If you’re in Perth - give Shaun and the team a bell at 4x4 extras if you’d like their help on the install 👍

@@Marcbarrington8 nice one thanks. Yeah I’m a big fan of this Ironman bar and wheel combo. Looks very integrated. Only thing to note on the Mickey Thompsons is that they are a hard compound and being 3-ply you’ll definitely notice a firmer ride. Was definitely scrubbing a little bit when we test fitted before the lift. Might get away with it on stock suspension with less aggressive tyres as the side bitters on three stick out a bit. You may however need to do trimming of the inside guards.
There would have been some front guard scrubbing with my tyre / wheel combo without the front bar. A bit of light inner guard trimming and you’d be fine. I just waited into the bar was installed to fit tyres. Cheers Mark

Hi Mark, big compliment to your ranger build. Well done. Question on your ROH VAPOUR 17" rims. What rim width did you choose and why. Is the offset of +30 (not too little?) the reason why the tyre is rubbing in the front wheelwell? I thought +40 would have been better? Your thoughts please? Great video mate, just picked an XLT, looking at mods yours have helped narrow down the first few, just wondering, do you know if the throttle controller will lead to warranty issues?
Not that I’m aware of. Pretty common addition to many 4WDs and I ran in my previous Pajero Sport. It’s not adding any extra power like a tune - rather just altering the throttle response to take away that lag. I’ve found it’s a good way to combat the extra weight added, which can make a vehicle feel a tad sluggish
Hey mate Just wondering how much you got your ford ranger xlt v6 drive away here in perth? did you put touring pack? and which dealership you got from I have ABN.
Hi, just wanna ask how about the warranty of your XLT? Is the car warranty gonna void? Installing Ironman instead of the ARB? I prefer Ironman than ARB, but the dealer told that I have to install ARB bullbar otherwise the warranty will be void, for my wildtrak.
Should there ever be a warranty dispute, Ford would need to prove that the modifications resulted in an issue. Ultimately, with any modification you are changing the vehicle from its original specification so my advice would always be to careful consider your needs. If in doubt you can always reach out to your local Ford dealer for advice. My personal experience has always been positive when it’s come to warranty issues (previously owning a modified Mitsubishi) but you need to weigh up the pros and cons for your own situation
@@Perth4WDandCamping That's why it's so much easier with going with ARB. Certainly no disrespect for Ironman products, I had plenty on my Navara, but with my new Wildtrak, having all ARB accessories fitted are covered with a 5 year warranty, that is incorporated in the factory warranty, it really is a no-brainer. Lets look at the mods, if you're looking at suspension upgrades, tyre upgrades, electric shutter on the tub, maybe it's worth looking at the Wildtrak. I was originally looking at a Sport, but considering what I wanted, the Wildtrak comes with All Terrain tyres, bigger rims, electric shutter on the tub, medium grade bash plates, auxiliary wiring loom to dedicated (and very nice looking) switches, auto parallel and reverse parking, zone lighting, remote start, full leather seats, brake controller, b&O sound system, bigger infotaintment screen, better side steps, xenon LED headlights that turn with the steering... I'm glad I spent a bit extra on the Wildtrak to have all that up front.
