I to this VERY DAY remember waking up, getting ready for school and going out to my living room and literally gasping as I saw a PlayStation 3 connected to our tv. My older brother had gotten it one night. It had TWO games. Uncharted 1 and borderlands 1. Whole day I couldn’t wait get back home and play. My older brother told me how he had made enough money at work that he got it on a whim. He wasn’t sure what games to get and talked to the employee who told him that uncharted is a pretty good game to play by yourself and borderlands was a solid looter shooter to play with friends. So he got both and me and my other brother, the three of us LOVED borderlands 1. So much that we continued the series all together!.. some of the funniest and happiest moments of our lives are just us laughing and running true vault hunter mode together throughout the series.
Uncharted obviously became our thing too cause lord knows those games go hard as well. But borderlands holds a special place in my heart.
… and this movie has NONE OF IT lmao. No heart, no fun moments. Nothing. I’m happy a movie came out, but I’m heart broken that it didn’t capture the joy it brought people. Borderlands deserves better.

Funnily enough, the way Atlas dies is basically just the way Commander Steele dies in the 1st game, she just shows up at the end to be revealed as a big bad, then gets impaled by the vault monster and dies instantly.
And i remember other reviewers who are more familiar with Borderlands, say that the Infinity pistol Lilith has, is the only gun in the entire movie that you see reloaded onscreen... the one gun that never needs to be reloaded (I havent watched the movie, so i cant confirm this, i just heard it in other reviews)

If you think it's a good idea for the actors to have played the video game. I've got two words for you: Henry Cavill. He knew what the showrunners were trying to do the Witcher wasn't right and he lost his job for his troubles.

@AC-hj9tv no they can't. He stood up for what he believed in and got fired for it. Granted it's not the same for him as it would be for you or me. But he still got fired. Was he right? Yes do I support him? Yes. But at the end of the day, You do what they say, how they say it. If not they can find someone else

@@AC-hj9tv Yes, if they want to get "any" roles. You know, job security and all. Which is not something you really have as an actor. The majority doesn't have that, only a couple of few are so beloved and always "in" that they can get roles like crazy. RE: Borderlands. Blanchett let it slip that she took the role because of Covid = no movies roles fears.
