Yeah I agree. People are calling it a reboot because for the first time ever they are getting rid of Timmy completely to focus on another godkid, with a (mostly) new cast of characters. So it is like a new beginning for Cosmo, Wanda, and us, the audience. It's still more accurate to call it a sequel, though.

Not only we know in lore that every Fairy have a Anti Counterpart, the voice actors of the fairies are also the voice of their respective Anti Selves. So it comes in full circle to have the voice who first did Anti-Poof to finally voice his good self as a adult.

Peri’s hair is actually a mix of both Wanda and Cosmo’s hair, it has her swirl but also has a spiky bit sticking out on top which reflects Cosmo’s hairstyle!
Honestly, I think this is the best approach to Poof in this new series. It's obvious that he didn't just disappear out of the franchise, he's an adult now, and his baby-like name would change, of course, his voice sounding like OG cosmo is very on point. All of it works and I'm glad he's here
I’ll be honest, I like this! His design is great. The hair looks like a perfect blend of his parents, but the suspenders and wand/scepter feel uniquely his. His voice and general mannerisms give ‘Season 1 Cosmo’ vibes but dialed up to 11. He feels like a game show host with a sprinkle of the genie from Aladdin. Poof, while great, would sound a bit baby-ish for an adult character. Kinda like how someone called Danny as a kid might prefer Daniel or Dan when they’re older.
I'm legitimately surprised that the people behind the show are actually trying to make something good. Peri gives me pilot Cosmo vibes, he's got such a likable charm to him already.

I haven't really watched this new show before but man, imo I think Poof or Peri as he calls himself now sure has a nice glow tho' :) Plus it's also cool that Foop's VA Eric Bauza's also voicing the character too.

everyone talks about the wanda swirl in his hair but non about the little spike on top that looks like Cosmo's like he doesn't have Wanda's hair only, he has both
(although it's a fairly (oddparent) common hair design in the series)

The cane-wand Peri has was a very clever spin to his design! It looks cooler than the regular fairy wands!
I haven't really watched this new show before but man, imo I think Poof or Peri as he calls himself now sure has a nice glow tho' :)
Plus it's also cool that Foop's VA Eric Bauza's also voicing the character too.

I know some hated Poof, I always loved him so this is a fun little moment. I hope he'll get a chance to interact with his parents in the future. Ive havent watched this show but from the things I've heard, it doesn’t seem to be that bad

... I'm glad they brpught him back. I was never opposed to Poof in the first place, and seeing him all grown up as Perry makes me so happy. I got to check the show out.

Given poof is the first fairy baby after soooo mmmannyyy years I wouldnt be surprised if he got a little privelege seeing his wand isnt star shaped and black sticked like every other fairy.
Privilege? In the Secret Wish, wasn't Poof essentially exiled from Fairy society when Timmy lost Cosmo and Wanda, due to Poof being born from one of Timmy's wishes? Little guy literally had no rights!
Either there were some changes regarding wish civil rights in Fairy World between then and now, or Poof isn't being entirely honest about why he changed his name to Peri...
Poof has really grown up!
I love how much thought was actually put into this, from the design, to the name, and even the choice of voice actor; this is how you do justice to characters in a continuation. I really hope they don't mess this up, because this is a phenomenal introduction.✨

According to co-creator Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, Poof's name had to be changed to "Peri" because apparently, "Poof" is a slur in many countries.
So what? They can deal with it or not air the show.

It is such an honor to see Proof again! Except that he changed his name to Perry as in periwinkle and it makes sense because he's purple not to mention that he's grown up now! But either way it's good to see him again I just hope he isn't a bad guy now! I mean he is the son of Cosmo and Wanda! But what is Poof ,or Perry would marry another fairy and they too would have a fairy baby if it's a girl perhaps!? And if she wore the same color as his mother Wanda perhaps she would be called Rose as in rose pink or something!? And I could picture her being a fairy god sister to someone else! Perhaps a descendant of Vicky who was once the meanest babysitter in the world until she became a mother of a little girl and she was abused by her own mother instead!? i feel like my ears are pulling tricks on me. When poof's cloud of smoke comes in, i hear a split second of the og theme song a bit. the part like "timmy was an average kid" but muffled.

fantastic fan service, as well as a great fit for a new fairy. fits in with both the new show and the old. a new wish is suprisingly solid, and actually gives me hope for the fairly oddparents franchise going forward

At first I wasn't really a fan of this sequel but as I see more it's grown on me hope we could see adult Timmy soon

I love how his personality reminds me of old Cosmo from the very first seasons of Fairy Odd Parents
I’ve always thought if would’ve been a cool idea for this series to have Poof be the same age as Timmy/Hazel and we could get a fairy kid character which I don’t think was something the original ever did. It would’ve been a really cool thing to have episodes where the human character and the fairy would be close friends rather than a caretaker dynamic
People forget that Wanda’s last name is Fairywinkle so by changing his name he’s Periwinke Cosma,which is really close to Wanda’s married name
