Hi tennis warehouse, I want to put a hybrid in my head graphene xt speed Ltd using solinco revolution (mains) but unsure what gauge to use eaither 1.20 or 1.30 with any multifilament (crosses) that you think would suit the racquet and partner well with solinco revolution. i cannnot use the tru feel hybrid due to my location.
If you're are looking for good control, spin and power in revolution what tension is it best to string Solinco revolution 16 at in a old blade 98 18x20 and a new blade 98 18x20 ?
+Junious Whitaker , Tension is really a matter of personal preference, so you'll really want to experiment around and find what works best for you and your game. I'd recommend starting at 51 lbs and seeing how it works for you. Andy, TW
Also, does this string notch easily? I loved the way RPM team played on the first day of hitting with it, but the strings got notched up pretty fast, ruining the snapback. I'm looking for a good shaped or textured spin poly that won't lose tension or notch fast. Power and comfort aren't a concern at all. Is this a good option? What about Yonex poly tour spin?
Hi Andy, I used to play regularly with Revolution 16 at 50lbs, but recently I tried making a hybrid, adding in Wilson sensation to the crosses at 52 and I really enjoyed it. The issue is that I broke the multi in about 5-6 hours. Do you think I could just string a full bed of Revolution at a lower tension to get that better feel to make it similar to the hybrid? What do you recommend? Thank youu
The feel of the hybrid will be different than the feel of a full bed of poly, but dropping your tension a couple of pounds will give you a boost in power, comfort and ball pocketing. Try it and see what you think. Andy, TW
@Court Mojo, Revolution will be softer and deader feeling compared to Pro Hurricane Tour. Its slightly softer feel will be a little easier on the arm, but not by much because both strings are going to be pretty low-powered. Andy, TW
@ Yung Persian Productions, Revolution will offer less power and spin but more control and tension maintenance compared to Hyper-G. Overall, we do prefer Hyper-G. You could try combining those two, or for a bit more power try combining it with Luxilon ALU Rough. Andy, TW
@ Billy Ward, Revolution will be stiffer, lower-powered, more control-oriented and will offer better tension maintenance. ALU Rough will be softer, more powerful and more spin-friendly. Andy, TW
@Agus Domingo, Of the Solinco strings that we carry, the most powerful is the Vanquish 17 (1.20), which is a multifilament string. Of their co-poly strings, the Revolution 18 (1.15) is the most powerful/lively. Troy, TW
James Lee , Revolution offers a slightly lower-powered feel with better control while Cyclone is a little crisper-feeling, livelier and more spin-friendly. Andy, TW
Spin potential is really good with both strings. This one feels a bit less stiff, and plays with a bit more power, or liveliness. RPM Blast feels a bit stiffer, and is more control oriented. Tension maintenance is relatively similar between the two. Troy, TW
Sure, we would likely string it at about 53 pounds. Although that is mostly a preference, as some of our testers might string it tighter around 55, and some might string lower around 48 pounds. Troy, TW
Hi I've been using volkl cyclone 17 for about half a year which works great for me except the firm feel on my arm(I put it on my babolat pure drive with 52 pounds ) so I'm looking for a more arm friendly string now. Does the solinco revolution get the job down? And also what tension do you guys use for this string? Do I need to keep the lower tension or raise to 55? Thank you!
+Weiran Jiang , Revolution is a great string but it won't be any more arm-friendly than Cyclone. In fact, it will feel a little stiffer. A couple softer co-poly strings I'd recommend trying are Dunlop Black Widow and Double AR Diablo. Andy, TW
@Fernando Rodriguez, These two strings are pretty similar in terms of stiffness, and power/control. The Yonex Poly Tour Spin holds tension slightly better, but the Solinco Revolution has a bit better spin potential. Troy, TW
+Allan M , Marco put a little lead tape at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions on the hoop, but he doesn't know exactly what the final specs can out to be after his customization. Andy, TW
Allan M , Revolution will offer a lower-powered response with better control and spin while PP Hextreme will be softer, livelier and have better tension maintenance. Andy, TW
How would this string compare to Solinco's tour bite Diamond rough? More specifically, I was looking to string this in 18g and diamond rough in 17g. Thanks in advanced!
@ Ian “Skrapper” Lastname, Revolution will offer a stiffer, lower-powered feel with more control and tension maintenance. TB Diamond Rough will offer more ball grab, power and spin. Andy, TW
+Tennis Warehouse what tension would you recommend I string revolution at if I've strung diamond rough at 52 pounds in my PS97? I was thinking 48 pounds to get a similar response of spin and power to diamond rough but I'm not sure. Also, I like the control and spin of diamond rough but found it to be a little to harsh on my arm and wrist. Would revolution offer a softer feel?
Hey TW, out of the three tennis strings which string has better tension maintenance and durability Volkl cyclone 16, Solinco hyper G 16 or Solinco revolution. Thanks guys ;)
Andy, Is Poly Tour Pro 1.25 going to be more powerful than the Revolution 1.25? If PTP is more lively than Rev, how does PTP compare to Cyclone 1.25 in terms of power?
@Arun Kumar, Solinco Revolution is a bit livelier, and more spin friendly. Tecnifibre Pro Red Code provides a bit better control, and feels slightly firmer. I would likely go with Solinco Revolution for a slightly softer feel, and its spin friendliness. Troy, TW
also, andy, was the wilson prostaff 95s (2015, red/black) ever play tested? i've been considering the racket and can find no tennis warehouse reviews from players...
jarret shani , The 2015 black and red version is just a cosmetic update to the white and red 2014 version, so our video for the 2014 version would be applicable to the 2015 one. Andy, TW
@Shivam Dewan, This Solinco Revolution plays a bit softer, and more lively compared to Solinco Tour Bite. Tour Bite feels more firm, and has a lower powered response. Tension maintenance is a bit better with Tour Bite. Troy, TW
+Fernando Barrientos , Both strings will offer a stiff, low-powered feel with excellent control, spin and durability. PHT will offer a bit crisper of a feel while Revolution will feel a little softer. Andy, TW
Fernando Barrientos , Both are good strings so it depends on what type of feel you are looking for. For more power, comfort and a softer feel, go with Hyper G. For more control, tension maintenance and a crisper feel, go with PHT. Andy, TW
We prefer Hyper-G, as it is likely the top choice for a poly among our playtesters, just different gauges and tensions depending on the player. Revolution is a good string, but plays with a more lively feel, which some may prefer that added power, but doesn't quite hold its tension like Hyper-G does. Troy, TW
@@tonyxiong2606, most of our playtesters use 16L 1.25mm. Sometimes I go 17 1.20mm on dense pattern racquets, and sometime 16 1.30mm on very open patterns. Troy, TW
Both offer a lot of control and spin. This one feels like there is a bit more pocketing and energy return, but both provide a lot of bite on the ball. I would say based on the shape and feel Revolution is a bit more like Volkl Cyclone. Troy, TW
@Nuo Chen,
Revolution will be a little softer-feeling than 4G, but both will offer excellent control and tension maintenance.
Andy, TW
How does this compare to tour bite, especially in terms of spin and tension maintenance?

I'm not with tennis warehouse but no, Revolution doesn't notch easily. I only start seeing notching after about a month
Hi tennis warehouse i would like to try this string on my speed mp 360+ ,what gauge and tension you recommand me ? thanks a lot .

Hey guys, I currently use a Hyper-g 16l on my Wilson Blade 98s CV, what differences would a 16l of the revolution have in comparison to the hyper-g?
Also, what poly/poly hybrid would you reccomend to use the revolution in?
@ Yung Persian Productions,
Revolution will offer less power and spin but more control and tension maintenance compared to Hyper-G. Overall, we do prefer Hyper-G. You could try combining those two, or for a bit more power try combining it with Luxilon ALU Rough.
Andy, TW
how does it compare to the pro hurricane tour? is it softer on the arm? does it play similar?
How does this string compare to luxilon alu power rough? Thanks
@ Billy Ward,
Revolution will be stiffer, lower-powered, more control-oriented and will offer better tension maintenance. ALU Rough will be softer, more powerful and more spin-friendly.
Andy, TW
Wich is the most powerful string in the Solinco family?
Thanks a lot!
@Agus Domingo,
Of the Solinco strings that we carry, the most powerful is the Vanquish 17 (1.20), which is a multifilament string. Of their co-poly strings, the Revolution 18 (1.15) is the most powerful/lively.
Troy, TW
I have a question to TW faculty members.
What would you say to this string if you are comparing this with Volkl cyclone?
James Lee ,
Revolution offers a slightly lower-powered feel with better control while Cyclone is a little crisper-feeling, livelier and more spin-friendly.
Andy, TW
Revolution, hyper g, tour bite. How do they compare in terms of power and comfort?
+Eric Sreyn ,
Hyper-G will be the softest feeling and most powerful followed by Revolution and then Tour Bite.
Andy, TW
How does this string compare to Babolat RPM Blast in terms of spin, control, durability, tension maintenance?
Spin potential is really good with both strings. This one feels a bit less stiff, and plays with a bit more power, or liveliness. RPM Blast feels a bit stiffer, and is more control oriented. Tension maintenance is relatively similar between the two. Troy, TW
Hello, can this string work with Wilson RF 97 autograph? If yes, please recommend string tension. Thanks

How does this string compared to Yonex poly tour spin, especially in terms of tension maintenance? Thanks
@Fernando Rodriguez,
These two strings are pretty similar in terms of stiffness, and power/control. The Yonex Poly Tour Spin holds tension slightly better, but the Solinco Revolution has a bit better spin potential.
Troy, TW
I guess I should've bought this instead of Hyper-G.
What tension would this be good in a Babolat pd 2012 for someone with shoulder problems
+XxUgLY_DoLLxX 009 ,
Try it at 52 lbs and see what you think.

which is more powerfull, the revolution or the hyper-g?? thanks
We found both strings to be pretty low-powered, but between the two we found Hyper-G to be slightly more powerful.

@Arun Kumar,
Solinco Revolution is a bit livelier, and more spin friendly. Tecnifibre Pro Red Code provides a bit better control, and feels slightly firmer. I would likely go with Solinco Revolution for a slightly softer feel, and its spin friendliness.
