I was born on the island in '46 and this is all my youth. Memories of the Clyde steamers.
Summer in the 60's, could be a song, was working in a hotel and using the last week before going back to studies to have a seven day pass on the boats, trying to get on every steamer that docked at Rothesay. I've just done Clackton to London on the Waverley, too much, she MUST go on for ever. Thanks for the memories.

@@joireson1480 Bonsoir from Goult in the far South of France. You dad's name rings a very wee bell, great at football ? I left the island in the early 60's so my school years are very distant. I've been back quite often and even more in the last few years as our grandchildren live in Edinburgh. Cheers Alex

@@alexbain9762 He was a good footballer. Was best mates with Jimmy Caldwell. He left the island when he was 17, now lives in the Cambridge area. Still returns to visit the island regularly though.

My wee home toon. Been gone 20 years now. It's a ghost town now unfortunately. Always be home though.

Rothesay is still a Bute-iful place! I go there regularly. There, Britain still survives. Hopefully the Third Worlders will bugger off to Glasgow in time.

What do you mean third worlders bugger off to Glasgow soon that could be taken as racism
