  • Fiona Edmond, owner of Green Island Gardens, takes you through the different rambling roses we grow here at the gardens, and why she chooses these over other rose species. As well as this, there is a full tutorial on how to grow a rambling rose against a tree for yourself from Estate Manager, Jason Gozzett. He gives in depth knowledge to planting a Rose, and tips and tricks to help the plant along the way.

Pauls Hymalian Musk rose is across my garden width.Over trellis with gazebo and trellis other side .170 feet . If she finds the way good nothing stops her. Must grow clematis too hoping not to crowd her ,

Love your videos! How do you manage your rough grass areas under and around your trees and shrubs?

We strim the long grass areas just once a year starting at the end of June with the last areas done in June. We leave the clippings to break down naturally and do not discourage the wild flowers

@@GreenIslandGardensVideos Thanks for the reply, we have similar planting but on a much smaller scale, obviously, but ours has been over taken with brambles which I need to try to get on top of without damaging the grasses and ferns underneath.

    Hello ❤
Pouvez-vous nous faire une liste de ces rosiers (les meilleurs) qui sont remontants et parfumées ? J'ai un petit jardin et (malheureusement) je dois faire des choix drastique (ma liste des préférences est encore trop longue 😢).
    ❤❤❤ from France

Hi there! A rambler needs a lot of space, so unless you have a large tree to put one up these probably aren't the best choice for a small garden. However if you do have a large tree, our top pick would be Paul's Himalayan Musk 💚💚

If you have to cut back hard a rose it is wrong rose for the spot.

We let our roses grow up into the trees freely so we do not have this problem
