I did this with a cute "velvet" blazer. I bought a metal hook and eye set to use replace the button. It turned out very nice. I used fabric glue and some hand sewing to finish it. I made it for the Jane Austen Festival in Bath, 2023, but sadly, did not wear it because of the record heat that was ocurring in the UK then.
