Brother Ameen your tutorials are really great! Thank you so much for the effort :) Really! If i may request..do you think you could possibily get the time to do a thermo-mechanical simulation of hot-forming with cooling? :P Would be really helpful!!! Thanks again!
You are welcome bro. As I always say, my videos are tutorials for only the basics. I am working on another tutorial now for a problem for Fluid Structure Interactions. I am planning to do a simulation for thermo mechanical problem but again, it will be just basic one.
hi sir, is this type of material can be used for low velocity impact simulation on thermoplastic plate? cause i try run the simulation without defining the strain rate and the model did not fail. thank you in advance
First of all, you need to consider strain rate effects in impact problems to get better results. Material models which are recommended for plastics are MAT024, MAT124, and MAT198. There's a webinar uploaded in UA-cam about this topic. Search: Modelling Plastics LS-DYNA
Good afternoon! I really like your lessons. And do you have any experience using or examples of the NVH (acoustics) unit. Is it possible to use LS-DYNA to evaluate the sound insulation of the car. Simulate a noise source and compare the noise in a car without a noise insulation part, and then with a part made of noise-absorbing material?
Hey , thanks for this great tutorial . I am working with your tutorials day by day and it is really helpful. Also I wil be in contact with you for an article. I am working on it too. I have a question about this tutorial. I added air material *null and add *eos . In *part, I connect them. After analysis I didn't notice a change in history. Do you know where the problem is? I took datas for air from this article: Structural response of laminated composite plates to blast load, F. Dolce et.al.
You are welcome. Please share my videos if you find them useful. To successfully model the air, you can't use LOAD BLAST ENHANCED (LBE). This approach is based on empirical data of incident pressure curves. Meaning, you have the structure, and you apply load on it. That's all. There is no air or explosives here. To explicitly model air, you can check out my tutorial: TNT Blast on Composite Column. Looking forward for research collaboration with you. You can text me on Facebook or LinkedIn.
Thanks for the sharing the knowledge. I have a question. In the Load_Blast_Enhanced card, we input "m" as the mass of the charge. However, in Load_Ssa (subsea analysis) card, there is "w" input as weight. As far as i know, w is in terms of Newton in the MKS units while mass is kg. If 1 kg of charge is used , in the Load_Ssa card, should i input 9.81 as newton or 1 as kg in the "w" input? I'm a bit confused, highly appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.
I have never used this card and validate it with other data. Yes you are right, W is weight and N is the correct unit. And according to the manual, they mentioned the weight, not the mass. You can try to put 9.81 and 1 then compare the results and see which one is closer to the reference data you have.
If you tried both 1 and 9.81 and it didn't work. It means the error is in somewhere else. You are still young, you need to live at least 100 years to be able to try "everything" in the software 😆😆😆
@@AmeenTopa İ am trying to valide an article which already validated another article and by using this control card, i have made at least 500 parametric analyses :))) But i have nothing :) well, actually i have something, but the parameters in the articles are not telling the truth i suppose :)
I am doing project, circular plate deformation using shock tube. It is case of high velocity forming. So I need to apply pressures for around 0.4 miliseconds .
@@Ya_baba_tajuddin As I mentioned, for shock tube simulations, you can use the ALE method. If you have the pressure history data, then you can use LOAD SEGMENT SET.
@@AmeenTopa thanku so much sir you are doing very great work. It worked for me i tried with load segment. Some more things i have to ask, In Post processing How can i plot deflection of plate along its diameter and how can i measure thickness of plate after deformation along its diameter i want to compare those results with my experimental data
Let's say you want to model a beam with I section. The easy way is to use shell element. You make a rectangular plate, with length relatively high compared to height. Put the thickness of this part. Now you already have a beam with an I section. The height of the I section is equivalent to the height of the rectangular. And the width of the I section is equal to the thickness of the shell. If you still want to use solid element. Follow the same steps. Make the plate, now create solid element by extruding those shell elements.
You can use the Move or Copy command. With this command, you can change all elements that you select to one part ID as long as they are the same type (solid, shell, beam..etc)
Ameen, thanks for posting this tutorial. I'm struggling to get the Z deformation to be similar to yours despite following all the steps. Would you still have the .k file for this tutorial so I could compare to mine? Thanks
