DEBUNKED: The Submachine gun is actually in hipfire position. I misread the sprue and thought the detached mag meant it was reloading, or something. But it's actually a 2 part assembly with the left hand holding the magazine. First time I've seen this on a Warlord Sprue.
One of the nice things about about the rules of Bolt Action is that an SMG is an SMG, so you can always give a guy a spare MP40 or something and say he captured it. My late war Germans have some spare Soviet weapons mixed in
great review looing forward to seeing some of these. i will probably do a fall of France. but i will look into the chasseurs a pied and see battles they took part in as they look great.
Plastic french + greenstuff + civill war cavalry = plastic french cavalry. I always bring a unit of cavalry when I play my soviets. 18" charge is nothing to shake a stick at. I'm preparing a D&D game. I miss bolt action though. You guys have fun with your armies. And remeber - - a painted miniature rolls better dice than an unpainted miniature.

Not sure of others approach, but as I've already got the Warlord French metals and the Wargames Atlantic for base infantry, this new box will probably have me model, three squads, one each of inexperienced garrison troops, Chasseurs and engineers. Should round out my army pretty well for the 1940 campaign.
@@HollywoodWargaming I think you're probably also right, the way it's done looks like you could rotate the gun arm up slightly to have a reloading pose or rotate it down to the side in an off hand pose (albeit with the mag missing). Quite a versatile piece.

I'm keen to do wlg belgians but the cost is killer, maybe a plastic kit one day.
One weird French squad rule: the standard infantry squad its the MG loader who can take a SMG not the sergeant.

Already got a starter army ordered. Always wanted to try french or belgian but all the metal detered me, Untill now.
Pretty sure the SMG is in a firing at the hip pose; top left of the previous slide behind the guy firing the rifle grenade.

Pretty sure they are WAY down the priority list, especially since they arent played very often. I imagine the fins could be next with a plastic kit
