I have heard of Krishnamoorthy Bhagavatar as a harikatha exponent but never thought he was such a vidwan. Astounding ! The whole task of transferring Oothukkadu venkatasubbaiyar's works to the music world was his accomplishment. I am proud of such elders.

I just listened to all three versions and I think this js unbeatable! The energy and rendition was amazing. Aruna didnt do the whole one and Kuldeep was a bit mellow probably due to the different instrumentation and voices used. This really had the gambeeram and rhythm

Really thanks a lot for uploading this in UA-cam. I saw it first time with Apoorva jayaraman and Shwetha Prachanda dancing in kalakriya series then I heard it from sooryagayatei, Rahul vellal with Kuldeep sir. All are excellent but to hear original is a bliss.

The mruthangam - mind blowing. Also people you need to realize that the recording was probably from the old gramophone discs which are prone to add speed to normal performance pace. He probably sang it at a slower tempo

M.Pai don't use modern instruments, the instruments used in his version were,mridangam ,tanpura,and veena ,though I am not sure about Veena
