Im not surprised that Miyagi has a violent history. Some of the wisest and calmest people had a crazy past and they didn’t want to repeat their mistakes
The writers are not stupid. They know miyagi is the og and loved. That storyline will be resolved with a surprise or it will make sense on a deeper level, I’m calling it. They want you to worry, as Daniel is. It’s what keeps you on edge.
@@mrdr0161u put too much faith in human beings. I just think this season is whack. Daniel is annoying as hell still. And Johnny doesn't need to get Sam and tori mad. That was just weird, I don't think this show is woke, I hope they didn't swap writers
Hawk is one of the best fighters in the franchise. He was one of the top fighters of Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do. He really stood out to me, in terms of personality, transition, and fighting style. I was also surprised Robby wasn’t there during the transition from a person who was disillusioned from the Cobra Kai experience to Miyagi Do, which was odd. He introduced him to karate.
Johnny should have reclaimed Cobra Kai, the whole point of the first two seasons was Johnny turning the Cobra Kai Dojo around and making it something of his own. I feel like Danny is taking over the show now. Cobra Kai should have been the redemption of a failed Dojo, now it's just portrayed as a bad dojo just like it was in the original karate kid.
I think they are alluding to the possibility of it being redeemed. Johnny is trying Daniel s way with Miyagi DO, but it clearly is not working. And the history of Miyagi actually fixes my original problem with the old movies being too black and white miyagi do good versus everything else bad. I think the show will likely end similar to Good the Bad and the Ugly everything has a bit of good and bad be it Kreese's Cobra Kai, Johnny's, and Miyagi Do. I forsee that Johnny will come back to his version of cobra kai not because it is good and everything else is bad, but because it suits him and he can acknowledge the faults/ benefits of different views including his own.
Bro Daniel took over the show in like season 2 or 3. He hijacked Johnnys own show & turned Johnny into a side-character. I’ve been sayin this forever now too, it’s bullshit. It’s no cobra Kai it’s karate kid.
You made a very great point regarding Robby and Kenny that I didn’t even think about at all until now. They don’t even interact after episode 1 and that’s very weird considering that Robby’s whole character in Season 4 & 5 was to be Kenny’s mentor. I definitely think Robby should have been there for him when he crapped his pants but they didn’t do that to reveal the twist that Devon spiked his water. I find that very weird now that you said it but I guess Kenny’s major storyline is gonna be him trying to get over the drama with Anthony.
This season is getting mixed reactions because the writers undo past resolutions amongst the main rivalries in the story. Season 5 ended a lot of conflicts cleanly amongst the main cast and now they are back to the same predictable formula to add drama. It would be better if the writers focused on other conflicts like Anthony vs Kenny, but they decided to restart the drama of Johnny and Daniel Moreover, Tori's character arc could have been more interesting if she was still in Cobra Kai at the start of the season to help create the tension with Sam less forced as it means that Season 5 did not let them end as "becoming friends"
The writers themselves HATE the rivalry of Kenny and Anthony which is full of shit. Devon drugs Kenny with laxatives. Anthony got dunked in a toilet bowl. Time to stop.
You described my only real gripe with the series perfectly. I understand that they're actually doing a consistent job of making Conflicts, but because of the lack of Villains and/or goals outside of Karate, the writers aren't making a diverse pool of problems for characters to solve. Due to the fact that they continue to pull from the Source Material to make their Villains/Antagonists, the longer the go, the less they have to pull from. The longer they go, and the less the introduce, it makes it harder to believe that these characters are supposed to be friends. Because the Series doesn't introduce very much Outside Conflict, all the Writers have to work with are characters that are supposed to be on the same team. And the more they bicker with each other the less believable it becomes that they're supposed to be friends. I believe the Series would benefit from more motivations for characters outside of Karate, or within that Karate element, introduce more Villains/Antagonists so it doesn't feel like we take 1 step forward then 2 steps back insofar as the friendly characters resolving their beefs only to get angry at each other all over again each new Season. THAT'S my only critique of the Series. It's silly, but I'm biased. But even my biases for the Series don't blind me to the fact that the characters are supposed to have developed and then double back on their relationships. It's just annoying to see the characters that are supposed to be friends by now continue to bicker.
I hope nobody is expecting Miyagi-Do to win the Sakai Taikai, because none of the main characters learnt any new techniques. The only chance is that the other teams are weaker - although this tournament is supposed to be a global event -, or that Johnny or Danny boy secretly teach them a powerful technique during the tournament...
the whole tournament is a joke! the captains could come last and anyone could win it making captains pointless. Its hard to believe this dojo is representing the whole of the US when they have only won a very local tournament.
@@unit0033 Bruh first of all its probaly doesnt representing whole USA just one of maybe 5 Dojos who are from USA.And the Jury thit see how strong there are from the skills+ fight against Cobra kai.And most Dojos in USA arent taking Karate that serious like Peapole like Johnny or Kreese
Finally someone thinking out of the box when it comes to the tournament. No talk about about the other dojos it's always about the two we know. It would be very ignorant of people to think it has to be between those two. Personally I'm expecting the dojo to win from last year. All that matters really is that cobra kai do not win.
Season 6 is definitely missing something. When Johnny was okay calling it Miyagi-Do, I rolled my eyes. The reason why Season 1 and 2 and some of season 3 were so good was because it was Johnny's story. The high and the lows. It just seems like there is too much going on and it distracts it from Johnny's story.
ngl i was also kind of hoping the sekai taikai stage to be as big as Jaden Smith's tournament bc season 6 being the final season is also the 3rd act of the entire series. bc looking at the stage in the final ep, it pretty much just look like every tournament we've seen even in the original films, I would at least expect the set to be a lot more grand n pretty much a wider scale to further emphasize that this is a tournament w ppl competing worldwide, but also enhance the idea of uncertainty of what we'll be up against. I'm pretty sure it's due to them only being a tv series w a diff budget compared to big major pictures. Amazing season!
Bro this was such a huge gripe for me. I was expecting it to be as big as Jaden Smith's tournament with hundreds of people watching in a big stadium type. Yet it looks smaller than the all valley. And this is supposed to be the WORLD TOURNAMENT
@@MicyboaBetterWe don’t know that since the new movie is set in this universe. And Jackie Chan is in it. If he is the same character he was in Jadens movie. Then his movie will be canon to this universe.
My only concern for this season so far was how the hell Tory switched sides so quickly, and why the hell would she team up with Cobra Kai after what Kim Da-Eun did to her in season 5. It just makes no sense to me 😂
As much as I'm tired of the "oh no! This character betrayed us!" Arc, this seems pretty justified, she just wants to fight and win for her mom, Daniel wouldn't let her fight, however, I'm pretty mad that Johnny didn't even try to get closer to Tory due to their similarities and help her get to the Sekai Taikai anyways.
Yeah, Tory had a point when she said none of them understood. Because they didn’t. They don’t agree that fighting someone is the way to cope with your loved ones loss
I was thinking about that exact theory when Daniel makes a remark that myagi wouldn’t like the shared style of Daniel and Johnnys fighting and would only want the peaceful way, I felt that he secretly did embrace both styles and had respect for some of kreeses’ ways and wasn’t always about peace whatever. Daniel is blinded by the past and never got a straight look into myagis true self and one episode he will likely find out it’s true
I agree. A lot of what I didn't like so far I feel could be chalked up to this only being a Part 1. I still have hopes for the series. But it certainly felt off so far. Aside from the key highlights you mentioned, each episode seemed like they were just going through the motions, and only about 20% of it engaged me as much as the previous seasons did. A big part of it seems to be the tournament. Early Cobra Kai, it felt like anything could happen because Johnny was making everything up as he went, which prompted Daniel to have the urge to retaliate. Now, the tournament is a set-in-stone, "this is going to happen" thing, and we're spending multiple episodes just seeing them prep for it. It feels like a lot of waiting. That's why I'm glad they have the Miyagi storyline to give some mystery back into the show.
Yoooo, didn't know you liked Cobra Kai, Kuro. I pretty much agree with you, I think this is just the first part of the finale and we need to look at the bigger picture.
Great vid I agree with pretty much everything you said, I also think the way they went about deciding the 6 to go to sekai taikai was stupid. dude this is the most dangerous karate tournament in the world and to decide our strongest fighters they play capture the flag, hold a rock, and chase a chicken??? so ridiculous !
The thing I hated most was Daniel and Johnny repeating the SAME STORY for the THIRD SEASON IN A ROW. Their arguments across season 6 was just rinse and repeat, the same formula of their arguments in seasons 4 and 5. Johnny gets pissed, Daniel gets pissed, Daniel apologises then Johnny then Johnny gives an even bigger apology and submits to Daniel, then a couple of episodes later Johnny gets pissed, Daniel says ‘bUt tHaTS noT tHe MIyAgi Do way’ and Johnny leaves the dojo. Literally the same arc as the past 2 seasons just slightly more intense
@@friedrichmyers yes that was Season 6 Part 1. The conflicts didn't happen in Season 5 unless you are counting Daniel's anger (because of Terry Silver mind games) calling Johnny a wimp and blaming for letting Pandora out of a box a conflict then sure.
My issues with this season - beyond what has already been mentioned - are these: 1. Stingray's cameo. Stingray gave Johnny a good talking to, with some very good points, especially how Cobra Kai was great when _he_ was sensei. Stingray suggested Johnny reclaim Cobra Kai. The scene ended with Johnny looking like he's considering it, with bad-ass music in the background. But then that's the last we hear and see of Stingray, and this talk somehow persuaded Johnny to accept the name Miyagi-do. I hope we'll see more of Stingray, or that entire scene was pointless. 2. Daniel stopping the qualifying fight between Sam and Tory, on the specious grounds that Tory's mother had just died, and you _can't_ try to qualify for something when you're grieving, apparently. The purpose of this was, of course, so that Tory would go back to Kreese, but they should have given her ANY other reason to do so. Having Daniel stop the fight like that, denying Tory even the choice of whether or not she felt up to it, that's just bad writing. No sane adult, let alone a _parent,_ would intervene in this manner. There's nothing about the vaunted philosphy of Miyagi-do which precludes working through issues using a beloved hobby. Just the opposite: in all Karate Kid movies, problems are solved with fighting. Sure, Miyagi wasn't that keen on using karate for competitions, but he recognised that this was what Daniel needed in the first movie. But _now,_ that's suddenly Cobra Kai thinking? Besides, what happened to combining Miyagi do and Eagle Fang (which is just Cobra Kai under a different name)? 3. Just why did Daniel put Anthony's name in the original roster, before they brought in Barnes to assess them? It's like Daniel wasn't taking it seriously in the slightest. The best fighters were Robby, Miguel, Hawk and Kenny on the boys' side and Sam, Tory and Devon on the girls' side. And that's already 7. Anthony wasn't even close, and would have gotten eaten alive in the Sekai Taikai. 4. I don't like the direction they're taking with Devon so far. Cheating to get herself qualified, and getting Anthonty in serious trouble in the process. And Kenny, whose foreshadowed revenge might land him in juvie. I had hoped this season would be Devon's chance to shine.
Yeah the Stingray scene was super misleading. But also I'm a bit tired of the Johnny vs Daniel conflicts and at this point, I'm glad they're still working together. But Stingray's scene was impressive with the talk they had. I was getting ready to see where it goes just for Johnny to immediately disregard it by the end of the episode.
Well for number 2 I don’t think most sports coaches in general would allow a teen to play after one of their parent passes away. When you are grieving you aren’t necessarily in the right head space so I think it would have been irresponsible to let her continue to fight.
@@onebuc5874 I think most sports coaches _would_ allow the teen to play. Keeping busy with work, or better yet a beloved hobby is actively recommended. If someone feels too grief stricken to participate, that's for _them_ to decide.
How do you guys justify letting Tory fight through that 😭. Letting Tory fight in that state would have definitely gotten someone hurt. Amanda was completely correct when she told Tory she was not in the right headspace.
@@coldsteel7115 Sure, she was not in the "right headspace" - but fighting was a good way for Tory to work through her grief. It _may_ have been prudent to postpone the qualifying match until Tory had collected herself, but only after consulting with her and asking _her_ if _she_ felt up to it. To stop a fight that was already in progress is not only reckless, but downright insulting. Who is Daniel to _decide,_ without even talking to her, that Tory shouldn't fight?
It's been getting progressively worse since season 3, all these side characters & relationship problems do nothing to the overarching story of what cobra kai started out to be, it's just another teen drama show now
Seasons 4 and 5 were definitely mixed bags. 4 was kind of boring and dragged out the first half. Hated the Kenny and Anthony plot line. We've seen the whole bully thing already time and time again. Just felt like extra padding. Now, part of me understands that it helped to serve Robby's redemption, which was great in terms of putting an end to the cycle and becoming the things he hated without realizing it. That was done well, but it just felt pretty dragged and annoying. Daniel and Johnny needed to hash things out, which I understood, but I was really just kind of done with it at the end of season 3. And, nobody talks about this, but at the end of season 3, Robby very clearly drank the Kool aid kreese was offering, and yet he does an almost 180 at the very start of season 4, only to come to a similar conclusion he did offscreen at the end of S3 (staying with cobra kai). Terry Silver and Chozen really stole the show. Silver in S4 and the both of them in S5 made them watchable, though 5 I really enjoyed for the most part, even though it wasn't without its own share of problems.
Honestly the Miyagi plot is the one thing that I’m invested in because it strikes me as the most human we’ve seen Miyagi beyond his drunk scene recalling his wife in the Manzanar internment camp. Daniel and Johnny having blowup number 95-C though? That pissed me off. Daniel punching Johnny not only should’ve had Daniel realizing he crossed a line, but Johnny himself going “Alright… I deserved that…” would’ve been a good moment to show how far their relationship has come. Johnny KNOWS what kind of person Miyagi was to Daniel and even viewed Kreese the same way for a time. Johnny disrespecting the man who was Daniel’s surrogate father and the man who saved Johnny Lawrence’s life… I dunno that pissed me off…
I do believe that the Sekai Tekai starting in Episode 6 is extremely early and rushed. That leaves if the tournament is 5 episodes and questions what’s 11-15? Or maybe the tournament is massive and spans both parts
Robby has to win that should be what his arc should partially have been over the last few seasons. If he does not then he absolutely would be shafted far more than he has been at this point.
@@michaelpaterson4595bro imma be fr w u, if Miguel doesn’t face Kwon in the sekai taikai and take the win, Cobra Kai is gonna die and I mean the entire series. It started with Miguel it should end with Miguel
The show just got insanely unrealistic and stupid. Basically fast and furious for kids. It’s so cringey and stupid with how unrealistic the show got with things like an old man who escaping prison faking his death and fleeing the country. How tf did he even leave the country? And how did he get back in the country to talk to Tory? Once you start to think then the show just becomes stupid and it’s crappy writing doesn’t help either. It was great the first 2 seasons but flopped after 3
Another thing I don’t understand is why the police are never called to investigate when the characters get into fights. It seems the world in this show sees karate as an all-powerful form of combat that transcends the law. On an unrelated note, I know Kreese killed Tory’s mom.
I'd like to see the prequel of 16 year old miyagi who's passive and providing sage like wisdom to everyone like everyone seems to think he must of always been lol
You have to be like the only person who brought up the captain thing. I’m a Miguel fan so I might be biased but, I think we can all agree that having one person actually individually fight is stupid.
Robby quite literally didn’t care about Kenny or Tory he was smiling putting that headband on but they did the exact same with Sam but she at least looked sad about Tory losing her mom before they had her cheesing with the headband on. It was also very out of character for Anthony to be laughing and making jokes about Kenny crapping himself especially when they looked as if they were forming an actually bond. Another MAJOR complaint is Daniel he is the only character who hasn’t developed at all since season 1 he isn’t working WITH Johnny he’s allowing Johnny to work under him it’s still Miyagi Do or nothing with him which hurts because everyone down to KYLER and BRUCKS have developed as characters but Daniel is almost the exact same guy just sprinkled with a little bit of false change every season
Daniel has developed. At least until Season 5 ended. He lost earlier to Terry Silver because he was stubborn hot head who couldn't control himself. By end of Season 5 he was 100% balanced and centered that he won the Silver rematch without taking a scratch. He was also going to let Johnny name the combined dojo Eagle Fang but Johnny conceded first. The rest of Season 6 I agree he was the same biased hot head. They honestly should've had Daniel's arc concluded at end of Season 5 as he left on top. Just let Johnny and Chozen coach the tournament with Daniel making cameos here and there.
If Cobra Kai fails as bad as TLJ that would be insane. I think TLJ was so bad because it was a rediculous shift in character with no real redemption whereas Miyagi having something bad in his past isn't so bad because it shows how he had redeemed himself.
My biggest issue is Daniel and Johnny’s rivalry. I get why Daniel was upset about Miyagi’s past, anyone would. But he shouldn’t have gotten mad that Johnny trained the students first. And he shouldn’t have been mad about the logo. Johnny randomly acts rude to or about Daniel multiple times for no reason. And then he gets mad that Daniel trains for the students, which is what he did earlier. And then he wanted Tory to fight Sam despite her being unbalanced and filled with rage. She wasn’t stable. We know how fights like that go. He should have agreed with Daniel and Amanda. But they shoe horned in some bs about what Johnny wanted to do when his mom died to justify it. As if Johnny when he was younger made good decisions. Both of these characters were bad this season. They need to fix it.
my issues with S6 Part 1 1. the way Eli is being handled is really frustrating, he really doesn't look nearly as strong as he did back in season 4 2. Kenny and Robby should've had a at least one moment together after Kenny joined Myagi-do 3. how the heck is Kreese travelling from one country to another, and on the topic of kreese that entire sequence with the cobra was goofy as heck 4. Anthony should NOT have gotten this good so fast 5. some cuts were REALLY bad, especially Robby's second point on Miguel 6. some of the dialogue between Mike and Johnny was kinda cringe but honestly this isn't really all much of an issue 7. I am so tired of seeing Johnny and Daniel fight again over and over, Its getting old 8. I have mixed feelings on Tory returning to cobrai kai.
For a world tournament to show whos the best fighter, they sure like to limit it by adding so many rules that don't make sense. Plus it looks point based. be cool seeing it similar to blood sport
Worst season by far (so far). Especially hated how they ruined Barnes. First of all what was his purpose here to begin with? Then, in the last season he was insinuated to be the strongest of all (getting a clean hit at Chozen, one-shotting all the CK senseis, seemed to have the upper hand in the brief scuffle with Johnny), and now he loses fair and square against Johnny!!!! National champ against all-valley champ.
It should be hawk and Kenny no doubt. Kenny’s cockiness would be a lot more interesting than demitris. Causing him to maybe lead him down his brothers path but remembering how his brother doesn’t want him there.
I finished it in one sitting. It went by incredibly fast. The episodes aren't shorter but they feel shorter. Maybe bc their rushed and it's only 5 episodes
I remember watching episode 4 and watching the part where Johnny and Daniel are discussing on who gets to go to sekai taikai, and when I saw that Daniel had put Anthony on the list I was “wtf” first of all I’m genuinely curious how long has Anthony been training, second of all is there not any information of the sekai taikai and how dangerous it is because I’ve heard that it’s very dangerous
Honestly the season just started and I think things will be resolved as it progresses. I honestly enjoyed part 1 especially with it giving a cliffhanger so people can predict and speculate what will happen next.
People get a 3-part release and act like the first 5 episodes are the last 5. All logic goes out and people start to nitpick and complain about stuff that may be answered if they just wait to see all the episodes.
To be honest, they did Tory dirty this season. I mean, seriously, you want me to believe, that they would let her leave the dojo after that one? That nobody would've either tried to stop or follow her? That nobody would've cared? Truth be told, the season was great until that point. It turns out that one of their top fighters is in a real tough spot and nobody gives a shit? First they don't let her finish the fight, which she was winning. Then they let her just storm off and hand the captains band, which should've been hers to the person she was literally beating the snot out off a few minutes before. AND THEN they expect us to root for these guys? For people who not only let down a vulnurable person, but also piss on her. You want me to believe that Sam would take such a win and be able to smile? You want me to believe that Johnny would let her leave? You want me to seriously believe that not a single person would at least try to help her? Nah, these last few minutes honestly made me mad. I'm giving the show the benefit of the doubt and hope they fix it. But this move was just simply stupid.
@@unclippable there’s also a law preventing people outside of the family to get calls from the hospital regarding a parent or guardian died, the show defies the law all the time, I dont think it’s something it will stop doing unless everyone in the entire cast gets arrested in the end
Scorched Earth theory: -Miyagi stole the Medal of Honor -Daniel is proven wrong, as you do get the MoH by stealing it -Hawk wins the Taikai -Hawk was the main character all along -Hawk is the new Miyagi
6:48 the headband scene kinda annoys me, you can tell Robby isn’t happy, but then Sam is there with the biggest smile on her face even though she’d just realised Tory had lost her Mum, I just think it’s a bit wrong
The character of Luke Skywalker was completely destroyed in the Star Wars Sequels. He had no real redemption and his "Hologram Scene" was one of the Stupidest scenes in thr history of Cinema and his "Death" was equally as stupid. Cobra Kai (From a Story Sense) should have ended after season 5. Season 5 was absurd in Every way but it worked so good and brought together the first 3 movies perfectly. Tbe resolution at the end had a Great sense of Clisure. This season seems forced in many ways. Weak/Lame Story Lines. This season Seems like a "Money Grab" which honestly doesn't bother me as I think the creaters and Producers deserve the payday but yeah it should have ended after the near perfect Season 5
I felt the same way it felt different i didn't know what it was but was it just weird or the some of the characters are unlikable them fighting again is so repetative
the thing is people get concerned mainly because many things from the original karate kid saga are being shown as differently or somehow being changed in sorts and that does worry audiences who adore the original saga but for the 7 years this show has been going on they have never really made us upset with any of the shows twists or plots,
Johnny being Johnny made the first part of season 6. Some of the story lines felt a bit rushed, but I've not laughed as much as I did watching the first 5 episodes.
Just to give some hopes. I feel like Eli and Demetri were given an arc not because they wanted him to do something but because it was the most convenient. Big part of Season 6 is that they’re becoming adults, changing their own future. So college comes. So they weren’t going to let the two nerds do nothing. I really like the dynamic. They predestined themselves for MIT as kids. But some kids dreams change as Eli considered at the Fyrat party. Demetri is still stuck there, but Eli really doesn’t want to lose a friend after Season 3. Meanwhile Demetri was given confidence by Yasmine to actually be aggressive. Also don’t worry he wasn’t nerfed. Johnny and Daniel acknowledged in their top 4 fighters that Eli was up there. Devon said “after the power couples and Hawk only one spot is up for grabs”, Demetri says “it’s the big 4 and Eli and probably Kenny gets the last spot” and Eli briefly fights with Miguel and Robby but gets sandwiched between them For the tournament I gotta agree with the captain position. But just to note because the Sekai Taikai is in Part 2, we can’t even be sure Miguel or Robby will be winning. We may see Miyagi’s lesson of win-lose no matter and his negative opinion of tournaments on full display. Because this isn’t the end. Since the characters all need to learn a lesson. They all believe the tournament will solve all their personal journeys. But will it? Miyagi’s bloody banner makes things questionable. With Kenny yeah I wish Robby did more. Although Kenny is definitely picking up screen time after thinking Anthony did that to him. With Tory’s transition I think they tried to paint it as more personal. Which is why she only needs one scene with Kreese. They tried to empathize more of the mother thing and eventually, the mishaps of believing Miyagi Do just wanted to have bias with Sam . Also about the three part yeah you are correct about the whole releasing early. Either Hurwitz or Schlossberg empathized how they didn’t want to release it any later than 2024. The three act structure is probably because they didn’t want to post 10 episodes at once and then only 5 later on. Part 1 seems to be the set up. Part 2 the tournament. And how Schlossberg describes his favorite episodes of Part 3. As “payoffs”
I think the Miyagi storyline might be something like he had to sell his medal of honor to a pawn shop or something and the violent roberry was him getting it back. I don't know but that would make the most sense.
@@theirv043 it could be. My thought process is his path in life mirrors Johnny’s a lot. Kumiko was his Ali and his dead wife and kid were his Shannon and Robby. Sato was his Daniel in a weird way, but while Johnny held on to his hatred of Daniel, Miyagi later learned to forgive Sato.
so miguel cant participate in the final if they come this far? bro miguel is the protagonist. he has to win. not robby. and yes they did hawk dirty. hawk over demitri in all universes. and why is kreese not in jail? yeah he escaped but where is the police searching for him?
yup Miguel and Johnny are literally the main reason this whole story started to begin with doesn’t make sense for robby to win if he does they’re only gonna make him win to keep these 12 year old keyboard warriors happy
@@Wright805 If I was Daniel I would just call the police at this point. He cannot bullshit out the detention this time, he broke out of prision and assaulted the authority. How is he not on the wanted criminals database? He should have been arrested at the airport. He is not even hiding.

@@longhairedguitar Ehhh that only applied to earlier seasons. By season 6 its not just about Johnny or Miguel but almost all of the main characters in the series.
@@longhairedguitar And thats one of the reasons why season 6 is the last season. If they make anymore beyond the Sekai Taikei then the storyline will overstrech,
I get that people are tired of Johnny and Daniel arguing, but tensions are very high between all characters as they try to work out the best way forward for the final battle. If they agreed on everything and selected six fighters without issue it would feel unnatural.
Hilarious how they treat Sam La-Huge-O like she’s on the same level as Miguel, Robby, HawkTuah, & Tory but any scenes involving physical activities she was noticeably absent for obvious reasons 😂
The captains make even less sense when they say, umm actually male and female captain as well, bruv, yet, nothing about separate male and female divisions, the selection process completly ignores genders. If there is a separate division then it is stupid to have 6 slots for both genders, and not 3/3, hell, there are more guy characters doing katare, and it is mostly done by men IRL ( i think so ), so guys having more slots while girls only getting 3 would have made sense.
Yeah the writing for S6 has been crap so far. Its like they are trying to cram in too many ideas and twists to make is seem crazier and cooler but in reality tis backfiring. There are a lot of stupid subplots (MIT with Hawk and Demetri) and dead end subplots (Kenny redemption) as well. Its almost as if they rushed the writing process without thinking everything through. I also don't like how they've regressed some of the characters. I don't like how they made Johnny and Daniel fight again over stupid stuff while nerfing Hawk and making Demetri a jerk. I feel like a lot of characters did things that were out of character for no reason. It seems like the writers couldn't think of any clever ways to add new drama so instead they are just forcing dumb drama that makes no sense or they are just repeating the drama of the past because they have no ideas. This is frustrating.
Right off the bat, there is a main issue : this show is called Cobra Kai and now CK is no longer the main subject or focus. The season opens by showing us that CK is dead.
4:00 DUUUUUDE. I JUST mentioned this in my vlog I just done a HOUR AGO 😂 Absolutely ridiculous. I didn't hear nor read anybody saying this except for you.
It’s just heating up, why are you worried? There’s still 2 parts left. Lots of things could happen before the end of the show. If part 2 is all of the sekai taikai then what’s part 3 about? I’ve heard in interviews that this season is the darkest, or grittiest season yet. You have nothing to worry about
I think it's running out of gas, but I'd rather have more from these actors than no season at all. If this is the last season, maybe they can come back every few years and make a new chapter
They should make the final season crazy like the shield final season was with vic Mackey and Shane vendrell at war with each other the whole barn was crazy
Shout out to You, Sir. 👍👍The Shield is one of the Greatest Shows of all time, and the final episodes are a roundhouse kick to the soul. Incredible television.
I don't have as much of a problem with the other stuff as I have with the choreography. It could have been done a lot better. I know, there's a lot of really technical stuff that looks bad on camera, but this season also showed how there's really flashy stuff that looks terrible on camera. A lot of their combat is just flying kicks. Especially Robby vs Miguel, fighting for the position of captain. There's better looking stuff that's more practical, and easier for the actors to perform. Tory vs Sam (Captains fight) was also rather underwhelming. I don't remember the actors looking so unwilling to punch each other for the first five seasons. I won't yap about form, but again, there's a lot of simpler moves that would look better.
Great Video Man! However , I feel like you should have mentioned the Kreese travel plothole. Like how is a wanted man who broke out of prison able to travel abroad not once but twice in one season without the police even looking for him
I do realy like the Kreese storyline in Korea and with the same characters fighting each other so much it's cool to have some who feel like a new threat.
Great : Anything Tory related so far is great, The sam and tory reunion was great, guys working to make it happen showed their growth. sleepover was great, bringing shaun back and kenny was so great. We get why Tory is on the opposite side rn. This whole Kwon side shtick was real cool. Mixed feelings on master Kim, but the pushback on kreese was good I woulda just hoped he outright refused. The whole "is this the end or not" with Daniel is good. Loved the frat fight. Bad : kreese being back with no character development is weird, Everyone hoed Tory at the send of s6 part 1 it was so out of character that it goes against seasons upon seasons of moral development, but ig i get why they had to rush to their flight instead of taking time to go check on her ig. Her getting there same ishe time so fast and her knowing where to find kreese (she didn't even know the tourney was in barcelona she legit wasnt there when it was announced right b4 she arrived). Devon fucking Kenny up with the laxatives was such a bullshit end to his arc and opportunity to enter the tournament. Robby was almost set up throughout cobra kai as "the avatar" learning every style, life lessons th hard way, huge character arc, he's amost set up to be the best mentor possible to the point that I thought kenny would end up a huuuuge player. Wished Kenny went instead of Demitri. Demitri vs hawk arguing was dumb, i get Demitri's frustration but not selfishness and actions.
The things you're saying about Robby in season 6 with Kenny comes down to the rushed writing that seems to be getting worse ever since Season 3. Certain things feel off and glanced over, there's so many character interactions that needed to be included but it feels like they skip everything just to get to Barcelona. P.S The Devan storyline is really cringe and takes up too much TV time.
Bro, imagine if stingray remade cobra kai and recruited some people with actual potential and also recruited people like hawk, robby, kenny and miguel.
Imagine at the end Kreese imagined all the events of season 6 as he lay dying from his fatal stab wounds at the end of season 6. He never escaped from prison. Kreese died.
Tbh I'd like and hope Miguel wins the Sekai Taikai as he's clearly the best teen fighter of the series and without him, the entire plot wouldn't have existed.
Yes people are literally comparing all valley tournament to sekai tekai and yes in part 1 Robby beat Miguel but still there are 10 episodes more and according to some leaks and theory the things are going to get way different from what people are expecting
@@mightguy3118Miguel beat Robby in a no holds barred street fight so clearly Miguel is the better fighter if they make Robby win they’re just gonna do it to make you 12 year old keyboard warriors happy Miguel and Johnny are the main characters of the story it would make much more sense for Miguel to win and end it like Karate Kid 3
Appreciate your video. We all want the next 10 to be phenomenal. I mentioned on a few other platforms that it reminds me of Breaking Bad Season 5. Meaning, the storyline of that season purposely started over. The ending of season 4 of that season felt like the end. Kind of like the ending of Cobra Kai S5 felt like the end... Because, in terms of storyline, the first 5 episodes felt like the series was briefly starting over, I found it to be good. Not great or perfect, but good. And again, that next 10 hopefully will make the final season simply great. Waiting till late Nov and early next year is a complete disgrace. All about money. This world could fall a part by next year. Oh well, so what. All about money, lol.
@FozzQuaker Because it says more about a suspicious mind when they falsely accuse innocent things as being perverted. It suggests a guilty conscious trying to gaslight.
Nothing could be further from the truth...I'm not gaslighting and I'm certainly not making any kind of perverted allegations... All in all, it's funny, but still, a near 60 year old man hosting a slumber party for teenage girls...if it was in the real world it would be a massive red flag
A medal of honor is not a necklace. I think the necklace belonged to a friend or maybe a student of miyagi something bad happened at sekai taikai and that person maybe even died. Miyagi went to america to get revenge but showed the guy mercy and just took the necklace back.
Feels like in previous seasons all of these plots would’ve been a whole ten episode season and it would’ve had a big fight at the end. The tournament being in the next season. It’s probably why it feels rushed.
@@dyablod_z1657It felt like nobody even trained to improve for the tournament and the sekai taikai looks way too small scaled to be the world karate tournament. The all valley looks bigger
@@dyablod_z1657 Season 5 was rushed entirely, pre production for season 5 was happening while post production for season 4 was going on. The storylines in season 5 felt like the saddest buildup ever. Season 6 should've been them training for the Sekai Taikai and going to it (10 episodes), then 10 more episodes (season 7) could've been the aftermath of season 6 and a nice conclusion to the entire story.
I hate how they handled Kenny as a character in season 5. Everyone wants to see his redemption him do something to truly prove hes back with the good and hes found balance and hes back on good terms with Robby. but instead we get one scene with him and shawn that was great, then him and Robby fist bumping and thats it? Then he gets his spot robbed by a storyless, plot forced character like DEVON? in such a brutal way too, he had to shit his pants in an embarrassing fashion? thats such a horrible way to handle that entire character. Hawks nerfs are getting extremely out of hand, there is no way SAM or TORY should be considered stronger than him, when he literally WON THE ALL VALLEY over robby. I understand the loss to kenny in season 5, that wasn't really a nerf as Kenny is probably the closest character to the top 5 and he had many factors on his side. but losing a flag too DEVON? then LOSING TO DEMETRI? thats just flat out stupid. It feels like the writers favorite punching bag to show other characters are growing is Hawk and its getting really stupid. Also balance effecting fights is getting really fucking old and predictable. I knew the second Robby went down 2-0 and Tory walked in that he was wining that fight against Miguel. infact I knew from the fucking moment they had that argument, when Robby was talking about always being 2nd place and not going to college. I knew hawk was going to lose to Demetri the second he admitted the MIT thing to him and I knew Devon was going to somehow mysteriously beat Kenny when they showed 50 thousand fucking scenes with her and Johnny trying to get her a spot. Sometimes, the better fighter just needs to win and thats something this show cant seem to understand. I really liked when Kenny beat Anthony that just made sense kenny has trained much longer, and is naturally talented and anthony had just started they need to stiick to the better fighter winning more often. naming the episode " underdogs " isn't a subtle way to show how the underdogs ( Demetri and Devon ) are going to win. And Tory going back to Cobra Kai just makes zero sense. I dont know what they are going to do with that, or how they plan on writing that out but there is no reason she should have returned.
I know that you said it 1 convo with Kreese wasn't enough for tory to join Cobra Kai again, but Imo that would take away the suprise factor at the end were tory joins Cobra Kai at the tournament.
The season does a good job with continuing the plot and making us care for the characters whilst highlighting their struggles. But it doesn’t have the same chemistry between its core characters compared to earlier seasons; you’d forget that Johnny and Miguel are close, Daniel and Sam are family, etc. Because there are too many characters it’s near impossible to focus on each core character equally.
Tori does need to win cause. She just lost her mother. The only thing Terry, silver and John Kreese have in common is their hatred for Daniel LaRusso and Miyagi-do Karate
Im not surprised that Miyagi has a violent history. Some of the wisest and calmest people had a crazy past and they didn’t want to repeat their mistakes
The manga Vinland Saga takes explorer Thorfinn Karlsefni, and turns him into exactly this!
uncle iroh
He was in the navy. Of course he has to do something violent
Wasn't it implied in the original movie that his wife was taken away to a concentration camp? His life has always been tragic and dark
like kratos
The writers are not stupid. They know miyagi is the og and loved. That storyline will be resolved with a surprise or it will make sense on a deeper level, I’m calling it. They want you to worry, as Daniel is. It’s what keeps you on edge.
Oh please this is a show written by a bunch of lazy "woke" writers who only care about there paychecks at this point.

Agreed, some things never change and their biasness'
I don't doubt it will be the dojo by the end!
@@reeceaguilar8374and he will have a few Miyagi-Do techniques in it as well. Making it all around.
Bro Daniel took over the show in like season 2 or 3. He hijacked Johnnys own show & turned Johnny into a side-character. I’ve been sayin this forever now too, it’s bullshit. It’s no cobra Kai it’s karate kid.
I can tell no one watched karate kid 2 because that’s was the first instance we learn of miyagi’s violent nature
Taking 2 years to release 5 episodes is annoying. I get netflix want subscribers but they dont have to make it November
I thought each episode would’ve been 1 hour long each, I was disappointed to find out that it’s the same average length as the others
Yeah at this point I'll forget as soon as I'm done with the show
This season is getting mixed reactions because the writers undo past resolutions amongst the main rivalries in the story.
Season 5 ended a lot of conflicts cleanly amongst the main cast and now they are back to the same predictable formula to add drama.
It would be better if the writers focused on other conflicts like Anthony vs Kenny, but they decided to restart the drama of Johnny and Daniel
Moreover, Tori's character arc could have been more interesting if she was still in Cobra Kai at the start of the season to help create the tension with Sam less forced as it means that Season 5 did not let them end as "becoming friends"
Fr this is season (so far) is just recycling plot lines at this point seriously Daniel and Johnny arguments are so repetitive and annoying

My only concern for this season so far was how the hell Tory switched sides so quickly, and why the hell would she team up with Cobra Kai after what Kim Da-Eun did to her in season 5. It just makes no sense to me 😂
She's loyal to Kreese.
From her perspective, Kreese is literally the only adult who's always been in her corner.
No she didn’t do it because she trusts Kreese and Kim. She only did it out of pragmatic reasons and felt like it was the only option
Who’s here after part 2
Great vid I agree with pretty much everything you said, I also think the way they went about deciding the 6 to go to sekai taikai was stupid. dude this is the most dangerous karate tournament in the world and to decide our strongest fighters they play capture the flag, hold a rock, and chase a chicken??? so ridiculous !
Exactly. Especially after he gave that big speech about how dangerous it was.
Seasons 3&4. Season 5 they actually got along whole season.
@@jayzee7538 No, they didn't. Johnny himself said that "After we win this tournament, you and I are done; for good."
@@friedrichmyers yes that was Season 6 Part 1. The conflicts didn't happen in Season 5 unless you are counting Daniel's anger (because of Terry Silver mind games) calling Johnny a wimp and blaming for letting Pandora out of a box a conflict then sure.
@@jayzee7538 Oh yes, you're right.
My issues with this season - beyond what has already been mentioned - are these:

@@jayzee7538 Interesting villain but didn't reach the potential. He could've been so much in the story.

Another thing I don’t understand is why the police are never called to investigate when the characters get into fights. It seems the world in this show sees karate as an all-powerful form of combat that transcends the law. On an unrelated note, I know Kreese killed Tory’s mom.

OBLITERATED sadly had a negative effect on the creative abilities of the COBRA KAI series writers to provide a satisfying ending to their show.
I haven't watched Obliterated. Can you explain this? (Not gonna watch it so idc about spoilers)
They need to fix it.
my issues with S6 Part 1
1. the way Eli is being handled is really frustrating, he really doesn't look nearly as strong as he did back in season 4
2. Kenny and Robby should've had a at least one moment together after Kenny joined Myagi-do
3. how the heck is Kreese travelling from one country to another, and on the topic of kreese that entire sequence with the cobra was goofy as heck
4. Anthony should NOT have gotten this good so fast
5. some cuts were REALLY bad, especially Robby's second point on Miguel
6. some of the dialogue between Mike and Johnny was kinda cringe but honestly this isn't really all much of an issue
7. I am so tired of seeing Johnny and Daniel fight again over and over, Its getting old
8. I have mixed feelings on Tory returning to cobrai kai.
For a world tournament to show whos the best fighter, they sure like to limit it by adding so many rules that don't make sense. Plus it looks point based. be cool seeing it similar to blood sport
Miyagis tekai headband was covered in blood so maybe it's hinting to how dangerous the tournament is
did you not see Miyagi's Seikai Takai headband? It was covered in blood.
National champ against all-valley champ.
yup the writers are crap
True. Although Barnes is very rusty at Karate while Johnny has been training since Season 1.
Mike Barnes was out of shape he dint trained for more then 30 Years

It should be hawk and Kenny no doubt. Kenny’s cockiness would be a lot more interesting than demitris. Causing him to maybe lead him down his brothers path but remembering how his brother doesn’t want him there.
Kenny is an over rated character.
There is no way they tarnish Mr Miyagi’s legscy, especially when the actor is no longer with us. There will be some kind of dumb twist
True, if they tarnish Miyagi and what he stood for, it makes the whole franchise, Cobra Kai especially, a waste of time.
Dude I finished season 6 in a day💀
Not that impressive, just 5 eps
I finished it in one sitting. It went by incredibly fast. The episodes aren't shorter but they feel shorter. Maybe bc their rushed and it's only 5 episodes

I remember watching episode 4 and watching the part where Johnny and Daniel are discussing on who gets to go to sekai taikai, and when I saw that Daniel had put Anthony on the list I was “wtf” first of all I’m genuinely curious how long has Anthony been training, second of all is there not any information of the sekai taikai and how dangerous it is because I’ve heard that it’s very dangerous
Yep, I doubt that 1-2years of karate beginner and without any previous physical training are enough to be on the team... but it's daddy's boy...
@@Ichi-San-1501 The fact Danial was gonna put Anthony in the sekai taikai before hawk is INSANE 😭 he doesn't even try to hide his bias.
The other storylines I'm okay with except for Robby's story. What is his future plans? What is he working towards?
Spain has an extradition treaty with the US so Creese should have just gotten sent back to jail
@@unclippable there’s also a law preventing people outside of the family to get calls from the hospital regarding a parent or guardian died, the show defies the law all the time, I dont think it’s something it will stop doing unless everyone in the entire cast gets arrested in the end
It's called escapism, and if you want a fictional show expecting reality (there are some exceptions, I am sure) then you are going to be disappointed.
Scorched Earth theory:
-Miyagi stole the Medal of Honor
-Daniel is proven wrong, as you do get the MoH by stealing it
-Hawk wins the Taikai
-Hawk was the main character all along
-Hawk is the new Miyagi
6:48 the headband scene kinda annoys me, you can tell Robby isn’t happy, but then Sam is there with the biggest smile on her face even though she’d just realised Tory had lost her Mum, I just think it’s a bit wrong
Actually the fact miyagi has a dark past actually makes miyagi better…it really explains so much from how he was in the films
There's just too many unanswered things they cramed into this first part they'll either have to answer or leave alone and think the ppl will forget.
I felt the same way it felt different i didn't know what it was but was it just weird or the some of the characters are unlikable them fighting again is so repetative
Like this season so far. Dont judge too early
Aint no way people take this show serious 😭😭😭😭
Thank you Cobra was my favourite show and recently it’s gone on a down hill.
the thing is people get concerned mainly because many things from the original karate kid saga are being shown as differently or somehow being changed in sorts and that does worry audiences who adore the original saga but for the 7 years this show has been going on they have never really made us upset with any of the shows twists or plots,
I don't even need to watch this, This show went from Average Netflix show to Holy shit Cobra Kai is Badass! Such a Great Show and First Part!
Devon said “after the power couples and Hawk only one spot is up for grabs”, Demetri says “it’s the big 4 and Eli and probably Kenny gets the last spot” and Eli briefly fights with Miguel and Robby but gets sandwiched between them
For the tournament I gotta agree with the captain position.
Kreese spent most of the season in Korea and now he's in Spain. The police aren't searching for him in either one of those.

I actually feel there should have been less.. they’re taking the focus from Miguel who was is supposed to be the focus of the show

How the hell does bro have 900 subs, this is a great review of the seaason.
I agree they lowkey
be nerfing hawk like that ahahaha
You have nothing to worry about
Daniel was granted unnatural strength by the demon-sorcerer Miyagi.
Imagine at the end Miguel imagine all of this and sees Jhonny drunk enetirng his home and he asks him can he teach him KARATE 😮

Appreciate your video. We all want the next 10 to be phenomenal. I mentioned on a few other platforms that it reminds me of Breaking Bad Season 5. Very good points, man 👍 Fingers crossed for Part 2! 🤞😱
This season took too long to come and it's taking too long to finish.
