- FRUGAL LIVING video is here! The cost of living and the price of food has increased so much that many people use a food bank or food pantry to make ends meet. The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.

Food Haul & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing To Be Able To Have. Thank you food pantry
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled. Sometimes the food is very out of date and not suitable. Please check the best by dates! If you receive spoiled items, then I'm sure it was an accident. Food banks and food pantries move a lot of inventory and there are times when the food has turned. They have a lot of food that comes through and they're not perfect. Volunteers help rotate and shelf products at the food pantry. Just keep your eye out for best by dates to make sure you are getting the best quality items you can find!
Frugal Living - Food Haul
Low income life is what I know and I don't mind a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

HOW TO GET FOOD BANK HELP?
Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get food bank help. Each county has a social services department that can direct you to food pantry resources in your area.
WHAT FOOD DO YOU GET FROM A FOOD BANK?
All types! I get all types of food from the food bank from unknown brands to name brands. Each shopping trip is different. I also get a lot of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Some food pantries offer staple items like beans and lentils, other food banks may even offer organic food.
FOOD PANTRY NEAR ME TO DROP OFF FOOD?
The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.

Oh no, keep your celery leaves. Leave the leaves on the stalk and add to your stew. The size you had cut to put in compost perfect to use for cooking, or cut smaller pieces. I add them to soups even can soup, salad, tuna salad (chopped) sky's the limit. Love your food pantry day.

Sarah, I gave a big thumbs up to the cheese tray, as always! My Mom used to take the celery leaves and put them on a cookie sheet, put them in the oven at the lowest temp and try them out, crumble them up and place them in a jar and put them with the spices and when she made soup, she would use them and they gave the soup a nice flavor. I'm sure that you could try the leaves up in your toaster oven, if you wanted to. Great food pantry haul!!!

If you were to freeze a few bottles of water before food pantry day, you could put them in your new little cooler and store some of your less perishable items like fruits, salads, and vegetables in there until you have room in your fridge.

Just a thought, I like to use the inner leafy parts of celery in a salad or soup. It adds a mild celery flavor. I also use limp vegetables such as celery in stir fry. They cook quicker but still have some crunch.

Sara hi. I think if you are planning to get some tongs for your kitchen then you should also get a pepper mill. You will much more enjoy grinding fresh pepper into your meals than the jarred pepper that loses its freshness quickly. We all know how much you love your pepper. Most new pepper mills come right away with whole pepper kernels when you purchase it. Go for it. You deserve that bit of luxury.

My area has mobile food pantrys too. I participate in those if they are close by..
My family goes fishing and camping for fun. We can afford that easily. We make tents Dollar Store tarps! Dig eorms for bait and use cane poles lol.

Sarah l use freezer baggys for food storage that saves tons of room. I wash them too and reuse them.
That sounds like a lot of fun! I enjoy nature, too. It's good to get outside and breathe in the fresh air, and look up at the beautiful skies! Using freezer bags is a great idea to make room in the fridge. I think I'll pick some up at the dollar store!

Thank you! I got the top from the thrift store. I buy most of my clothes there, and it's been great. When I first moved here, I had to re-build my wardrobe. It's been a great experience to collect pieces of clothing here and there!

Funny how you call those cheese trays "fancy". Don't you use celery tops as well as the rest? I use the bottom parts of it in soups when build broth, and use the leaves and such for the actual soup. Edit.
Oh yes, cheese trays are fancy to me! If I was making soup, I would definitely re-use the pieces I trimmed off the celery stalks.

Good Tuesday evening to you Sarah. I made it early this evening. Have you ever tried celery with peanut butter? All the food looked so good, I wish I could eat some of the foods you show. I'm picking up fresh in state strawberries tomorrow, I bought them last year, oh they were so juicy and sweet, nothing like the store bought ones. It's to bad the refrigerator didn't work I hope the rest of your week is good.

the best places to get high end flatwear is at estate sales.The people have died family wants it all gone will bascicly give to you very high end products, may have been worn but still in great shape

It's a journey for sure. When life was different, I juiced greens and have to say I felt very good doing that. I haven't tried that in some time and would like to get back into it. I'd be grabbing some Tomatoes sauce boxes. For veggies soup, V8, barbecue sauce, ketchup, and other dishes . That's an incredible food bank. Ours is a drive threw only and it's gone really bad at helping for churches are buying up 30 million new place each to extend school's so I think that's why food bank is about five thing's.

AND girl yes!!! I would take the probiotics too right now I'm under 50 and my dad passed last year and I will soon be starting on his mens senior multi vitamins because we were not gonna waste those. Good for you!!
I am fascinated by the irises too. We had these in our yard growing up if you have the opportunity to either dig up some that no one wants or just plant your own bulbs you should around your house they are hearty like daffodihls and they are just so pretty to look at.
A dollar store trip is in the future! Thank you for the help with pronouncing sriracha, that's an unusual word for me. The irises are beautiful! I planted 3 bulbs in the ground and think it's the iris. It's green right now, no flowers yet so it will be a surprise. I don't mind taking men's supplements either (so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad).
Also want to say love the almond tortillas they are like the Siete ones which are pricey and they are good. and the Organic Dino (lacianto probably didn't spell that right) Kale you got is my favorite kind. it's much easier to chew and I love it sauteed with like some garlic and olive oil and of course Black Pepper.

Hello Sarah, Happy Food Pantry day for you!! If ever don't get the cheese tray, I may be like NOOOO loll just kidding but really cheese and those almonds are life. Also Vega Protein is usually pretty good. I am sure this one is too. The chai flavor is excellent if it every pops up at your food pantry.
Oh I've not heard of Chai protein powder, that sounds good! Yes, the cheese trays are great to get. I like making cheese toast with it. Good stuff!
I have dollar tree spoons and ladles and tongs and even a strainer. Especially now that they bought the liquidation of Bed Bath and Beyond, you can get some great stuff.

Beef stew tip to stretch it. I make it with lots of flavor and just carrots, celery and onion. Instead of serving it with potatoes in it... I serve it over mashed potatoes... but you can do mashed cauliflower too... or a mix of the 2. Really you can go all out and do some fancy mashed taters... or use your potatoes graten.
That's a clever idea to serve the soup overtop potatoes! Thank you for your suggestion. I'll keep that in mind that next time I get those fancy potatoes!

You should refrigerate those almond flour tortillas from Trader Joe’s!
Good point! I put them in the mini-fridge. The nut flours tend to go rancid unless refrigerated.

Me and my mom love your videos. I would go to dollar tree to get my stuff. I love dollar tree. I go to the food pantries for me and my mom. What where food me and my mom don't need we give it to my aunt. I go to the food pantry on Fridays to for the weekend. We go to food pantries to save money ❤
