*100,000 VIEWS!* 18th Avenue Railroad Crossing, Nashville, TN

- Опубліковано 31 лип 2015
- EDIT 10/10/16: This video has reached over 100,000 views! My first video to do so! Thanks to everyone who's watched this video so far!
Recorded on 7-29-15
Signal on the left: 2 pairs of US&S 8 inch lights, a General Signals Type-2 electronic bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of US&S 8 inch lights, a WRRS mechanical bell, a WCH gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
This was the second train I caught up in Nashville, and it had an ES40DC leading an AC6000CW, both of which were in YN3. This was my first time seeing an AC6000 in YN3.
It's also rather hard to tell if the bell on the signal on the left is a Type 1 or a Type 2, mostly due to how loud the WRRS mechanical bell is. One of the lenses in the signal on the left's lights is actually not fit in properly.
This crossing is rather cool as there's an overpass built atop of 18th Avenue here.
Edit 5-14-16: This video has managed to get over 50,000 views in less than a year since it was uploaded! Wow! - Наука та технологія
This is one of my favorite railroad crossings
That's nostalgic. (If we forget about that E-bell.)
I like that.
MegaZsolti And probably the LED gate lights.
Actually, to me, the E-Bell is nostalgic.
That WRRS bell is extremely loud and healthy.
Right 👍
Update: lights on both signals have been replaced with 12x24” LED lights, most likely WC Hayes Frames with WC Hayes LED’s
Leotek EV Series LEDs, IIRC.
Rare railroad crossing and the first time I ever heard a horn with that kind of harmony. Thanks for the Nashville view, Mr. Railfan.

Jhh. Vvg
The only thing I like on this crossing is the 8 inch incandescents and the high pitched WRRS mechanical bell. Sadly, the lights were replaced, but luckily, the bell is still there
I love the sound it makes
The crossing it awesome and this is the best CSX horn ever! I give this video a 100/10
Thanks!
I like the two bells together
Great Crossing!
Thanks!
Great find and catch!
Thanks!
I like that horn. It's a pretty unique K5HL.
?
It's a spam bot.
Joe Dohn No, there was a person who had just commented "Bigmindcreator is just a name" in reply to Elliot's comment. I had removed the comment shortly after it was posted, but before Elliot responded to it.
I'm not that crazy (yet) Joe
Cool bell sound of the crossing signals
love it
sue!
Thanks!
Now. That would be a place to watch one!!Youd feel it and go thru your body to your bones even..
My hometown (Dayton, OH) has an overpass built over a railroad crossing along the CSX Toledo Sub, and when I lived in El Paso, TX, there was another one on-base at Fort Bliss near the Humane Society animal shelter that was used by the Army Railroad.
My husband was born in Dayton Ohio

That freight train is moving very slowly. Nice video!
Spoorwegovergangen Nederland Yea, trains along this line tend to go rather slow. Thanks!
Spoorwegovergangen Nederland, yep, I think this train was going at 25 mph.
Spoorwegovergangen Nederland its an intermodal stack train but it is kinda like a freight
Spoorwegovergangen Nederland greetings from the United States
@@trainboi6736 it’s a freight train
Now you're at 300,000 views!
Pretty cool. In Charlotte, we have a "diamond" crossing where NS and CSX cross that is also under an overpass. It's also downtown.
Deckerb8529 Cool.
was it in north carolina?
Herman Sprouse yeah

Probably a GS Type-1. If you listen closely, it sounds high pitched. Also, I love this crossing, great catch!
Thanks! Seems no-one's really sure.
Well take a look at that view count.
No It Sounds Like A GS Type 2 Electronic Bell To Me
As of Present Day some changes happened to the Crossing first the US&S 8-inch Lights were Replaced with newer WCH Lights on both sides but the WRRS Machanical Bell was turned to face forword
I'm well aware.
I did too hear the Tear drop yes I did ! is it still there I go to Nashville tomorrow and what road is this I gotta have the road address.
I love trains
how many trains go through here per hour
Nice! Like how the crossing is under an overpass.
Railfan Cali UPRR Yep! Part of the reason why I recorded this crossing.
It reminds me of the 16th St crossing I recorded in San Francisco Under the Highway.

Nice crossing and catch! RIP 8 inch lights! Any plans to come back to Nashville and film or any plans to film other crossings along this line such as 17th,16th, and or 12th!
Thanks! Maybe eventually.

And the gate mechs….
A 😂😂3ert😢😢😢😢😢😢😢eee 😊😊
I heard 19th Avenue (the crossing with the teardrop bell) at 0:09 Listen very carefully
+Damonlive783 I heard it as well (I pointed it out in an annotation). Sadly, I couldn't hear the teardrop from here.
+freebrickproductions but I could :/
Damonlive783 I was able to hear the WRRS (which my camera also picked up), but not the Teardrop.
I heard it too I kinda like nineteenth avenue it's cool I seen that freebrickproduction has had a video of nineteenth avenue go off before and I watched it it was cool it's not the trains I like it's the railroad lights I like ☺️😉
Make that 200,000 views
wow that CSX train is strong carrying all those cars
Ouhh
@@mazayashabrina Huh ?
Me: hello CSX AC6000CW! 👋
AC6000CW: hey Derrick!

AC6000CW: it's ok Derrick, you will be ok and I will still come back, just keep on praying for me and have a great day!
Me: thanks you too and I will keep praying for you to come back alive!

HARAY FOR THE 100'000 VIEWS!!!
Ha! This looks weird, cool, & funny all @ the same time! Also that bell is loud!
+Chess Eric Thanks! This is a really cool crossing here.
+freebrickproductions Ur welcome!
+freebrickproductions Also congrats on 50,000 views! My views haven't even hit 100 yet! LOL
+freebrickproductions Is this ur most viewed video?
Chess Eric At this point, yep!
Because 19th Avenue’s teardrop bell sounds beautiful and 19th Avenue’s railroad lights went off at 00:9
0:24 Bells dinging!
Make that over 400,000 views
Hey guys I am a railfanner in Murfreesboro so I am going to Nashville at the end of July and starting augest
MobileRailSpotterRxR, I agree with you.
it's long since 1999
That is a long train how much cars on it
Where he is recording is 18th Avenue left side where he is that is 17th Avenue on the right side where he is standing is 19th Avenue my favorite is 19th Avenue
Is the WRRS/FS mechanical bell still here?
Last I checked it was.
NOTE: They replaces the WCH gate mechanisms to Siemens gate mechanisms.
The lights have also since been upgraded.
Love that horn
Your older video of "*100,000 VIEWS! * 18th Avenue Railroad Crossing, Nashville, TN" has almost hit 500,0000 views!
Omg that horn is different
Was That A GS Type 2 Electronic Bell On The Other Side?
Read the description.
@@freebrickproductions Okay thanks 👍
What did the GSI replace
I would say another WRRS mechanical bell, but I don't really know.
Nice teardrop bel!
No teardrop here, lol. But the next crossing west has one.
It’s the bell
@@tutinator305 No, it's not. Neither bell here is a teardrop bell. Read the description.
I’m a railfan ear to
That’s interesting.
Not sure if you are familiar with the Dry creek road crossing in Waverly TN? The WCH bell is dead and the MI bell is dying!
Ethan's told me about that crossing before, though I think when he last visited it both bells still worked. Shame they're on their way out now though.
@@freebrickproductions yes it’s a shame. The MI bell is probably going to die within the next year at most if it even hangs on until then! The WCH bell is already dead!
I'm not sure why is different horn
why csx in tn
Because the L&N had a lot of trackage in Tennessee and they merged with the SCL to form the Family Lines system, which was then merged with the C&O to form CSX.
Why is this crossing underneath an overpass
Because Nashville built one over it, but buildings along the road underneath it required the crossing to remain open.
There’s a gs type 2 in the background on this crossing 😊
I'm aware, lol.
The GS e bell is a type 2
Thought so. Thanks.
realimbored668 i agree
i think long one are cool
Old school teardrop warning bells....
Actually, one's a WRRS bell, while the other is a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell.
Very cool under the overpass. Hear the other crossing too. Your friend kinda distracted the whole situation with constantly moving and staring into the camera. He was cute though
David Imhoff pause.
He wasn't David (photographer)'s friend... he was some random person there.

This is a road under the bridge
That is rare!
+Haydn Haycocks (railwizard2014) Yep!
2 hours from Nashville is my house
Thought this crossing was creepy at first
Look at the other siganl tho it has a new gate and a gs type 2 why is that
Because those pieces of equipment got replaced.
BOTH CANTILEVERS are grisswood
They're US&S.
www.rxrsignals.com/Tennessee/Nashville/19/
0:35 Bells stopped.
The lights have since been replaced with LEDs
I know.
Nice.
Thanks!
freebrickproductions Your welcome.
God thats loud!!!
I've been here before too,
1:05 CSX train
Is that a teardrop bell I hear?
Don't think so. The Teardrop at 19th Avenue wasn't audible from this crossing. Likely what you heard was the WRRS bell at 19th Avenue.
oooooooooooooh
It still sounds good though ;-)
The 18th avenue mechanical bell is a WRRS/FS
tat e bell is gs type 3,2,1?
Read the description.
This train is a CSX
DanielElevators correct
Yep... everybody knows...
i mean US&S
I think thats a hybrid K5HL.
The train
Early Raised Letter K5HL 2PC-1L
IC WHITT AH HAHAHA
the bell is type 2
why is it there id get it
What?
***** why did they put a mini crossing there
Because the overpass wasn't there originally. It used to just be this crossing. And it's not really a "mini crossing", it's just a standard one.
Ayee bro I found you on my other account "2 years ago" damn
