Hi Andrew ,
Congratulations on another outstanding and interesting review !
How much better is the B&W compared with the new generation Klipsch Reference Premiere 600M series 2 ?
And how far are you from reviewing the new generation Klipsch Reference Premiere rp-8000f series 2 floorstanding speakers and if possible the new Klipsch Jubilee ?
Many thanks ,
Brian
@@bmultimate1One The 705 S3s are notably better than the new 600M MKIIs --both subjectively and objectively. Admittedly neither speaker is "perfect" but you are buying a better, more accurate and solidly put together speaker in the B&W in direct comparison to the Klipsch. We don't have any current plans to review the new 8000F MKII in the short term, but maybe that will change, I don't know. As for the Jubilee, I'm on the fence about reviewing them given their size and logistics.
Hi Andrew I one of your new subscribers. Let's talk about bowers and Wilkins 705s3. Now am a huge fan of bowers and Wilkins speakers I got the old DM 601 S3 since 2004 they are good but when you said decisions compare to PMC speakers twenty 21i your nail it because I was confused at the time between those two company brand. So easy I go for bowers and Wilkins 705s3 I love the style and carbon dome tweeter. So thinking to get one near Christmas.
Urgh you paired it with a $7,000 AUD Amp 😨😭 I was hoping it was $3,500 or less. The Marantz is $3,700.
Your channel is like a sanctuary for for those of us who want the straight scoop on audio gear. The point/counterpoint format together with the chemistry that you have together never gets old!
Sometimes I just want to watch a relaxing ass well made video, and I just replay some of the reviews for good vibes
Really enjoyed this episode, Kristi's insights and impression on the blind testing are really appreciated, and she described it really well!
Thanks for watching through to the end!
I'm a long time B&W fan as well, but their pricing has kept me from buying another set. I get that they want to remain an "elite level" speaker brand and thus, keep their prices high, but I don't believe that what they charge equally correlates to the differences in sound you get, i.e, Kristi's take on the Lumina II vs the 705. I would LOVE to have B&Ws in my house for listening, but they have priced ME out of their audience. I know there are lots of people that can afford them, I'm just not one of them. The 802s will always have a place on my bucket list, but it's the part of my bucket list that likely won't ever be fulfilled, lol. As always, thanks for all the work you both put into these reviews, I can't wait to hear about the 805s and the Marantz Cinema 50! Thanks again!
I'm with you. The price jump between the 600 series to the 700 doesn't make a ton of sense to me either. Really appreciate you hanging out with us today!
Jason I appreciate you sharing and for being so honest. I hear ya. I was hoping the new 600 Anniversary Series would've been the perfect "entry-level" B&W but it was a let down. Hopefully the next gen will be better because B&W used to make really good, approachable speakers too!
606 are still amazing😜✌️😉
@@andrewrobinsonreviews I appreciated your reviews of the 600 series. But I couldn’t pass up buying them for $500 a pair. For my first fancy speakers they work for me.
🤗 I ACTUALLY AM BLESSED TO HAVE A PAIR OF 802 D2s and I will just have to save for a pair of the 705 S3s for my rears …which may take years 😁🤗💚💚💚
You two just keep getting better and better on the quality and content of your videos. Also, the blind test is great. Next time Andrew needs to sit on the hot chair as well. 🎉
"Those are some subjective thoughts but they are the correct ones." 🤣 Kristi is the best!
Also the 705 grilles look like leftover grilles from the older 805 speakers from a couple generations but agree that the 705 grilles look crappy lol. I look forward to hearing the new 700 series
Great review per usual!! 🎉
Happy to see this channel grow and reviews getting better and better. Cheers 🥂
❤
Once again a great review! Footage and comments are like it should be!
At home, I'm still enjoying listening to a pair of B&W XT2.
Keep up the good work!
I AM SO HAPPY! I put 3 x 800 D3 Diamond Tweeters (ZZ28738) in my 705 S2 and HTM71 S3... They fit perfectly and it works tremendous without the need to change crossovers or such and now it is so hard to tell differences to the 805 D3. My favorite look combined with the diamond tweeter. I love it.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - those dreamy, slow slides across the woofer or tweeter with a wide open aperture and creamy bokeh is straight up product shot pr0n. Some beautiful camera work Andrew.
Funny, I hadn't even noticed it - I guess that happens when you like what you see😄
Totally wasn’t expecting this review. Bravo. Can’t wait til the 805 D4 comparison!
I love my Bowers and Wilkins 702 S2.
I upgraded from the definitive technology bp9040.
My reciever is a Yamaha A2080.
I can't wait to complete with the center and rear channels and also adding the DBS4 subwoofer.
Keep up the great reviews.
They are very informative, thank you
I owned a pair of Bowers and Wilkins for well over 20 years without fault. Fantastic speakers. At the time when it came to renew they never really had something that worked for me and I wanted a sub satellite system. In the end, I went for something extremely niche. The Ken Kreisel Q125 Quattro Speakers.
Id love to see some of the new Ken Kreisel speakers reviewed on this channel.
Great review. Have been enjoying my 703 s2 for a couple of years and now a upgrade. Be nice to see some s2 vs s3 comparisons in the 700 series.
What a wonderful feeling to be “hoping” but expecting a let down, only to be blown away! Nice review as always! Keep it up!
Thanks!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews just thinking, I bet that warmer Denon was an awesome pairing!!
@@lfazio9690 Pure magic!
B&W is literally musical butter!!! I am still rocking my 2007 (last year made in England) 604 series 3 towers, and I LOVE them... Waiting for my Emotiva XPA-2 gen 3 to arrive to throw some clean power to them... Wish me luck.
Thankyou Andrew and Kristi for your review. I was demoing some speakers at my Hi fi store recently and nothing was appealing to me (with NAIM UNIT STAR), as a last resort I was told 'try these', out came a pair of the 705 S3's. Wow! B&W were off my radar but I was so impressed with these, and for all the confirmatory reasons you mention, I will probably buy them, now there's a surprise!! 😊
Having two persons with slightly different opinions is what makes that channel so interesting and informative. Two heads is always better than one, right!
I REALLY enjoyed the fact that you guys did blind listening tests! I think the pricing is wild, I have a spreadsheet with 3 way centers and when I made it originally 1 year ago you could get the HTM71 S2 for $1500 before the price hike to $2000 and the HTM71 S3 is $2500. Really makes me sad because the S2 was stretching my budget but the S3 is firmly outside of it once you consider I'd want 5 speakers (705, 704, htm71). Also I still miss the specs being visually shown, don't think I've forgot haha. Also gloss black is 🤢for me personally where's my black oak veneer!
The speakers in your setup at 1:46 look absolutely stunning! I love it!
Thanks for the review, always enjoy your upload :)
Thanks so much for tuning in!
🤗 I CONCUR WITH THAT 😁 and their EAMES chair compliments the whole picture as well 💚💚💚
Great video, I am an old B&W fan. I have never owned a pair but my best friend has a pair of DM604s that I always had a blast listening to.
Thanks for the review! Nice tease for the 805 review, looking forward to that one.
It was interesting to hear your comment about “powering” B&W’s, because I used to own the 704 S2 Towers, and although I absolutely LOVED them for music, they were disappointing in the dialogue arena IMO when it came to movies. Even after adding a center channel later on. I guess I may not have paired the right amp with them, or some other setup flaw on my part. Great review! 👍🏼
Earlier this week, I received a HTM71 S3. I returned the HTM71 S2, I had, as a recommendation on the S3 was favorable to the S2. I ran ARC Genesis again to calibrate the S3 with the rest of my system. I can say that there is a very noticeable difference between the two models and how they blend with my 805 D3 fronts. I'm assuming the same would be true with the other new 700 series speakers.
Your videos have improved greatly. Nice job
Andrew and Kristi, I so enjoy your reviews and always look forward to them. I was wondering about Andrew’s commitment regarding “low volume listening” on the 705 S3 speakers. I have the 705 Signature speakers powered by a Naim Uniti Star and feel the speakers are lacking unless I turn them up to levels that make my wife want to leave the room (which is really not that loud). On paper my speakers and yours appear to be nearly identical. I am wondering if the newer version is that much better/efficient or if I still need more power for low level listening.
I recently bought the B&W 702 S2 Signatures and thought they needed a little 'something' to bring the best out of them. After seeing Andrew's review of them, I bought a Musical fidelity M6 PRX and "hey presto"! They were the speakers I always hoped they were. Thank you, Mr Robinson (no relation) :)
🎉🎉
I love both of you guys, but I have a hilarious confession. I often go straight to Kristi’s take and then later return to hear the whole review. It’s not to devalue Andrew’s excellent insights, it just works for me. What a team!
😊😊😊
Just wanted to give a compliment to both of you in regards to your command of the English language. Not hearing fumbling thoughts is refreshing. This was very informative, and the subjective styling argument at the end was fun to engage in. This is my first time on the channel. Thanks for the review 👍🏼
Welcome to our channel and we hope to see more of you!
I currently own the 702 and love how clear they are compare to my previous 704. Thank You both for reviewing the new model. BTW.. love what you both did with your room, I looks like some is a great interior designer. Also love your camera recording style.DOF.Awesome work guys.
I’m thinking of getting the 704s2 as they are on sale right now. What did you think of them?
@@hclandscapes I have those in my family room and the 702 in my living room. These are both excellent speakers. If you get a great opportunity to get your hands on the 704 s2 you will not be disappointed. The sound all around and details are amazing. This is why I kept both as I spend lots of time on both rooms.
@@omarseneriz5577 I have a Hegel H120 do you think that would work well with the 704s2’s?
Omg your room looks more amazing with every new video ❤ Fun to se something from your movie, would love to watch it!
Thank you!
Thanks for the review, it looks like a lot of good products are coming through after lockdown- good times ahead I hope 🤞
Thanks for watching! And lots of goodies to come!
Loved this review! This one and and your upcoming 805 D4 one are super timely for a decision I'm still wrestling with. A little context before the heart of my question: I'm wrapping up a home theater project, but I'm also a music lover. Factor in having a daughter with autism and all the things that come with that, and the new theater room is also going to be used as my home office / music enjoyment space. My final gear mix pending rack and stack is listed further below. Temporarily, for budget reasons, to avoid buying 2 sets of L&R speakers, my Marantz Model 40n will be dual-purposed:
- Standalone 2.1 setup for music only (vinyl, CD, Airplay 2)
- 40n flipped to amp-mode for L&R when I'm running full theater off of my pre-pro. (When in theater mode, that means L&R will be on only 70W per channel vs 150W per channel via amps used for all other channels including center, which is admittedly bassackwards.)
Here's the core of my question for you @Andrew / @Kristi -- I'm interested in eventually carving off the 40n for dedicated music enjoyment, and wiring the rest of the theater-use equipment to the AV8805A and 2 MM8077s. That would mean adding another pair of speakers in this same room (again, due to my daughter's situation). The 40n currently sounds SOOOO good right now with those 702 signatures and the T/9x, so I don't want to feel like I'm going down in my music quality if I carve off the 40n and get separate speakers for that. What's your take on speakers to use with the 40n if I go this route?
- 705 S3 w/ my T/9x sub or maybe just a T/7x?
- 805 D4, with or without a sub? I know the 40n would be underpowered for driving the higher end 800 series, but the 805 D4 doesn't take that much to drive (50-120W per B&W).
In short, I'm trying to get the benefits of carving off a dedicated 2 channel music rig w/o feeling like sonics are a step backwards from the 702 Signatures I'm enjoying with the 40n as I type this.
***
Gear:
- Marantz AV8805A pre-pro and 2 x Marantz MM8077 amps (doing 7.2.6 setup on theater side, and AV10 and AMP10 weren't out yet when I bought these)
- Marantz Model 40n - @Andrew / @Kristi this is all your fault - it's every bit as good as your review said!
- Marantz CD 60 - thought I'd long-since retired from CDs but this unit's quality paired with 40n and some nice indy release stuff hs me enjoying discs for the first time in forever
- vinyl rig and even a Marantz PMD-300CP for analogue goodness
Speakers:
- L&R: B&W 702 Signatures (some of the same tech now in the S3's)
- Center: HTM71 S3
- B&W 6 x CCM7.5 and 4 x CWM 7.5 for height and surround
- REL T/9x and S510 subs
Good review, but I feel like like you missed out on arguably what would have been one of the more interesting comparisons and that is the B&W 705 S2 and/or the B&W 705 S2 Signature.
Thank you both for this surprise review! Can't wait to see your 805 D4 review. Loved the D3 already. But tough competition at its price point (from Dynaudio, ProAc, etc.)
Cheers from France!
Thanks for watching. Stay tuned for the D4 review.
Merci!
The price point of the 805s is very interesting there are many great speakers worth considering.
Andrew should do a huge group test here's a list

You look SO happy Andrew! At the end your correct, Mucho $$$ for most of us. Enjoy!
Thank you for the review. I love B&W 705s2 and B&W 702s2. They are amazing. I’m not sure how much better the new s3 compares to s2.
The highest production quality I’ve seen for an audio-oriented channel. The reviews ain’t bad, either!
Thanks!
Hi Andrew and Kristi, first of all I really like your work : each video is a pleasure !
I've just heard this speaker with my amplifier (Marantz 40n) at my dealer and I'm really impressed : it sounds great, clear, accurate, spacious whatever the style of music. Even at low volume !
I'm saving money to buy it beaucause it's simply and perfectly the sound I want.
Best regards from France !
Great B&W review, thoroughly enjoyed it.
A great detailed review. Looking forward to the 805 D4 review. Which legacy B&W line tweaked your interest during your journey?
I was surprised by the comparisons at the end- for me and my budget the B&W doesn’t hold enough cards to surpass something like the Lumina 2 given the reported minor differences sonically. I think the Lumina 2 is also better looking. Did you try the B&W’s with a modestly priced amp like the Audiolab?
Love the review! 😃😍 I'm looking forward for more B&W reviews from You 😊 Have you listened to the B&W 603 S2 Tower speakers...? Do you know if they are also disappointing as the smaller 606/607 versions?
Always great educational videos!
Question, do you think 705 S3 with Rel subwoofer is better than just 702 S3? Or maybe add subwoofer to 702 S3?
Thanks
Hahaha, got nervous in previous videos when seeing the B+W B roll happening. After the hubbub from the 600's, and knowing Andrew's love for the brand I was worried that he would be predisposed to lean into any enjoyment coming from B+W. Truly a fun review. Production quality was stellar as always. Looking forward to the review for it's big brother.
Thank you !!! Awesome video Can't wait for 805 D4 review! Question do you know if there is a big difference between 805 D3 vs D4 👋
Great review. I currently own the 705s2 with dedicated B&W stands and the HTM71s2 center channel. I am looking to upgrade to the 702s3 with new matching center. So… I guess I am curious if you will be testing the 702s2 vs. 702s3, would love to hear how you would compare them.
Hi guys, I just pick up a pair of 705 S2 for $2635. Today I’m waiting for a Hegel 190, to pair with these beautiful speakers. I want to thank you for reviewing the B&WS3. The 190Hegel I was also able to get a great price from Hegel for $3200. They just drop the price this month $1100 on that amplifier. Andrew, I just had a chance to finish up watching the whole review. I’d like to tell you I am a huge fan and like you of B&W since 1986. I bought my first pair of DM sevens , that same year I also picked up a pair of metric ones. I still have both sets of speakers along with my Nakamichi equipment. Thanks to the both of you again for such a great review.
I saw that Hegel was on sale this week. Enjoy your new setup!
Thanks guys for your reply B&W Speakers in general have always been close to the heart. You guys are so good together in your reviews you make it a lot of fun. Thanks.
I wish you guys would have compared the 705s2 to the 705s3s. I’m trying to decide what to get because the S2 line is going out at a good price, so what do you think help me out thanks great review
Gorgeous looking speakers! I do agree, the mock-up grill design you made would take them over the top. Great review as always!
Thanks and I appreciate the vote for my grille design!
I couldn’t agree more on the grills. They look cheap and could have done better. Also I would want the speakers to show their logo up front especially when you pay that kind of money for them.
@@typeonegsr And look like the new Mission 700s? If a company wants to advertise in my listening room (or on my chest for that matter) I think they should pay me 😂!
Thanks for another excellent review! I know it's been a few years since you reviewed the B&W Formation Duo but any thoughts on the 705 S3 + a 2-3k Amp/DAC vs. the Duos?
The best view on B&W 705s3! Perfect 👍
Great review Andrew!!! I hope you will consider doing a review on the 702 S3. I am considering purchasing them as my new speakers. I'm looking for an upgrade for my now 8 year old Monitor Audio Silver 10's.
Thank you Andrew for your review WOW!! Do you have more information on the standard ?
I enjoy your succinct reviews. Curious what sized Solidsteel stands you have. Also, how do the various bookshelf speakers that you review remain stable on the stands?
Found your channel watching the Klipsch 8000F tower review- I watch a lot of tech reviews with nice production but yours is a step up. What microphone are you using? It’s the best I’ve heard!
Hi Daniel McGuigan, Thanks for tuning in! You'll find that information here bit.ly/ARFilmKit
Another great review and comparison. Thank you.
You have the best job in the world. Listen to great music on great systems and then talk about it.
It’s something that millions do for fun and you get paid good for you !
You do help people save $ for great audio experiences .
good video. You know the amazing thing... the B&W 705 cost what the 805 used to cost 15yrs ago. The 805s are just insane expensive. My buddy just bought a pair of the PRO-Ject bookshelfs... very nice. BUUUT I still think my Quad S2 sound better than the Pro-Ject, and I still think they are the speaker to beat in approx 1000/pr range.
Thanks for the great review. I’m a Dutchman and over here b & w is widely sold as well. Triangle speakers however don’t really get a lot of love on your side of the pond. Could you perhaps take a look at the Esprit or Borea or even the signature series sometime? I think you would enjoy it and a lot of your European listeners as well
ANDREW,KRISTI…🤗VERY HAPPY YOU GOT THE SPEAKERS YOU WANTED AND THEY 👀 LOOK GREAT 🤩 In your room,I hope you enjoy them for many years 🤗💚💚💚
Thanks for a super informative review. I've had the original B&W N805s for twenty years now, and have been eagerly awaiting your review of the new D4s. But it's great that there is a mid level alternative out there in the 705 S3s...while $3400 isn't cheap, it's a lot less than the $8500 for the diamonds. An as an aside, I assume a review of the Denon A110 will be forthcoming. I have the matching DCD A110 cd player, so I'd be interested to hear your's and Kristi's thoughts on how it pairs with the B&W's. I know the B&Ws can be challenging to drive with some big impedance dips despite the nominal 8 ohm ratings. I thought the Denon's power supply might be a little suspect (mostly due to not a lot of filter capacitance compared to some other brands), but I was wondering what you thought. Just for reference my long time integrated is a Bryston B60, so similar power to the Denon A110. Thanks again for a great review!
Being that we're heading towards the end of 2022, would be cool to see some type of look back episodes (maybe one for audio and one for video) where you put top recommendations for surround sound at a budget level, mid range level, and money is no object level based on units you've tested. Same with video, budget tv, mid range, and top
We're rebuilding our house from a hurricane last year, and I'm definitely upgrading. Leaning towards a 77" C2 for TV but not sure what direction going with audio yet.
We do this every year in the form of our End of the Year Awards Show. It comes out in December and it's a lot of fun!
Great review as usual! My question is: I know that they are in different leagues but how does it compare to Q Acoustics Concept 50?
Very nice transition to speaker with&without grill!
I have the 707 s2 and Like you say in the Video they Sound very fantastic with Marantz parts. With the new CD60 the 707 Sounds full and have "Bass". Now i wait for the new Marantz Cinema Series in Germany
Comin’ in from outer space! Shmoly Cannoli! I need to savour the anticipation of watching this one! ❤🍾
Great video, lovely hear about the blind test
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent review. Happy Fall guys!
Same to you!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Seeing all the fall colors change in the High Sierra Nevada Desert is awesome! Especially sitting on the back patio listening to music!!!!!!!!!!
You two are so talented!
Well done
I have not watched any HiFi channel for a while but I was interested in the new B&W speakers.I enjoyed this episode that both of you are reviewing the speakers I was at one point going to buy the Signiture speakers the only thing was they did not do the centre speakers or sub.
I think this could be the better choice for a surround speaker set thanks all the best🤩👍
This was awesome to watch, nice work Andrew and Kristi.
Just a thought. Is it possible that your new listening room is more ‘forgiving’ of brighter or more energetic speakers than your previous space, and that’s part of the reason you really liked these? Either way, I’m glad you did.
You could make that argument. This room measures differently as all rooms will. That said, I don't believe "forgiving" is the right word. More balanced? Yes. The issue in our old space contrary to most people's assumptions was never brightness. The old room was bass loading - something I was aware of and took into account in all of our reviews. I am confident in saying the room was NOT the issue with the 600 series. We didn't like it in our old home and we didn't like it here in the new space. It has a smile like curve to its response no matter what room you put it in.
Thanks for the response, Andrew. Once again, fantastic content.
always nice to hear Kristie’s take..she really articulates everything so nice❤
@@andrewrobinsonreviews when is the 805 d4 going to come out?
Hi Andrew and kristi. When i first got into this hobby, i used to buy all the Hi Fi Magazines i could find. They were mainly from England and the U.S. Both magazines only reviewed speakers from their own country. In Australia speakers were very expensive to buy, especially the British ones. Basically you could only choose Goodmans, Wharfdale, Quad Electrostatic, B&W from England. AR, KLH, JBL and Bose from the US. Now that most British speakers are made in China, many of them have become more affordable .
However, the quality of many of these speakers has diminished to when they were actually made in England, Just wondering, do you have any "Direct to Disc" records ?
After the VERY positive review of these.......I'm curious to know if you two prefer 705 S3 over the Formation Duo??? Please and thanks.
705 S2 are great sounding speakers. With the new S3 line I do wonder if the 702 S2 Signature is better than the 702 S3.
Nice review Andrew! 💜my B&W cans, also had the B&W 605. Purchased the SVS ultra bookshelf and never have looked back… with that said there’s a part of me that feels like not owning the 605s anymore. I’m losing prestige or quality but that’s not the case it’s just a feeling that I have. By the way, I kind of agree with Kristi in regards to the looks. I guess because of the color and the design it looks very hospital sterile but I’m more interested in the sonic properties than the aesthetic.
Hey Andrew, many thanks for the detailed review. I've been following your reviews for a while now. B&W is in fact my brand by election. They have their very own personality. I think this new 700 series is amazing, very beautifull and very well made. Probably I will be buying a pair of 705 S3 but in "mocha" finish, one of these days 😅. A review of the new KEF R3 Meta is planned? Thanks for the excellent work. Keep going.
Hey Kristi & Andrew, thanks as always for your great review.
Just wanted to let you guys know that I received the Speaker Box 5 S2 today, which I traded for my B&W 606 S2‘s based in your reviews. Best choice ever! Got them for 500€‘s over here in Europe.
Thank you guys so much!!
The SpeakerBox 5 S2 is better than the B&W 600 Series for sure! Enjoy 'em!
🙌
Also took the green one 😉
@@floriandobbratz7580 NICE!
As always, a great review. I don't think these are for me because I have a small space and therefore like powered speakers, and, as unreasonable as it may be, I HATE the look of these. Great video!
Team formation duos I now have besides the bass and the audio I now have a pair of the flex, another bass and the sound bar to complete my system. All I need now is the wedge
Hey Andrew, how close in natural tone, spaciousness, depth, and imaging would you say speakers like the Concept 50 with rel sub get to the ultra high end 50k speakers from the likes of Raidho, Dynaudio, Wilson, Sonus Faber, etc.?
Really enjoying your channel and reviews. Would love if at some point you could do a some kind of ‘historic review’ where you’d look at products in the past and compare them to the present. I.e. I have a 600 series B&W speaker system (683, HTM61 and DS3) - these are a decade old but I have no way of knowing how it would compare to speakers of today. Getting a sense of products over time would be great and never seen it done before.
Also I have an arcam avr400 and thinking of upgrading it to Marantz SR7015 (as it’s now $1600 - cheaper than the new cinema 60) - so again seeing prices drop on older models, how you’d compare dollar for dollar previous generations that are higher up in the line, but now are cheaper.
I did an in-home audition of the B&W 607 S2 and was appalled by the harsh highs and recessed mids. Glad to hear that these issues are one-off and only apply to the 600 series.
100% different speakers (thankfully 😃)
I'm on vacation so I was able too see this video during the day. LOVED Kristi's "Let's move on" comment. Too funny. On the serious note. Was a subwoofer used in this review? The comparisons gave all of us a sense of how competitive the Bookshelf speaker market has become. Have a great day Andrew and Kristi....... Let's go 300K subs.
Hi Brian! Yes, we tried the speakers with our SVS (bit.ly/3xnMlrE) and these blend very easily however, the commentary in the review is more reflective of the speaker by itself.
Yeah for vacations!!
Great review! And can you please tell me what stands those are, they look great!!
I agree with eq you can make a positive difference to speakers
Oh my... I'll order them tomorrow! Thank you.
Hi Andrew,
Just wanted to say I love your content and think your reviews are the best around.
The tripod speaker stands you have these on are stunning, I have these speakers in white and would love to pair them with these stands.
Any chance you could share the link
Thanks again for the amazing brilliant vids
So, I have the CM10s. Series 2 did not improve enough for me to switch. Any opinions on series 3 vs series 2 or the CM10s?
Hi I was wondering what type of cable do you have for the speaker and brand they look really good.
Andrew you are the n.1! And Tori music is a great test for speakers 😊
Soft dome tweeters are not always softer around the edges. The Polk RTi A9s are right in your face and hardly soft around the edges. I have several aluminum dome tweeter which are much smoother and more accurate.
Great review! Thanks!
I would really like to know how you would compare midrange and treble of 705 s3 to 702 signatures?
As a 705 S2 owner, would be great to have comparison review between the S2 and S3, especially since the Frequency Response you have looks just about the same as what my 705 S2 measures at.
Unfortunately, we've only heard that speaker in store and have not measured it.
I agree. I would like to see this as well
I'm curious between the 705 s2 Signature and the 705 s3. They say they sound very alike because of the improved filter of the Signatures.
Having the 705 s2 as surrounds it be no reason at all to upgrade to the 705 s3 very much satisfied with the 705 s2
Would it be worth upgrading from the s2 to s3 for the longer haul?
Thank you for this review. B & W are an amazing brand. Again, the Brits take centre stage!
Great catch, always enjoy your videos when you cover a pair of bookshelf speakers! 😀
Let us know what you think when the video is over. Appreciate you tuning is as always!
Thanks for joining us this morning!
@@KristiWright Thank you, Kristi, currently enjoying your comments!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews The detached tweeter looks quite cool, always have been an a fan of art deco. If I was in the market I'd probably be opting for the Pro-Ject just because of the less forward sound characteristics. I found myself to be so heavily prone to listening fatigue. Totally agree on what you said about the grill design!
@@phonatic 😍
Can't believe I wasn't subscribed to your channel Andrew. Fixed that..love my AV equipment. And I'm looking to maybe spending more money in my stereo speakers and the 705s really appeal to me..although I will still wait for a price drop.
Glad to see that you are happy with the B&W. I can't really answer your QOTD because I've never heard a B&W speaker. Well at least not focused listening, I remember hearing some at Classic Stereo high end shop back in the late 90's and early 2000, but I couldn't to afford a grill for that speaker back then, so I didn't really focus on it.
I have a question for you guys, you mentioned that the 705s don't have a real wide sound stage, what brands and models can you point out that can produce those attributes? Another question do you guys own the Technics R1000?
Lastly, that Denon behind you is looking freaking awesome, I can't wait for that review.
We do not own the R1000. It is here on loan. I would look at Focal for a wider sound stage. The Utopias were amazing but at 18 grand, they bloody well better be. For something more approachable, the QA C50s fit that description (bit.ly/3ccXaGZ).
This review was unexpected for me,
Really good review, i have 702 s2 and love them, did a camparsion between with 603 s2 anniversary edition against 702 s2 before i bought the 702, i think even with s2 the difference is big 702 is much better with everything i treated
