Question: Does everyone in Utah go to the same hairdresser and clothes shop, and are they all at least fourth cousins? WHY DO THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME. Like I bet at least part of the swinging was down to people just mistaking other people's spouses for their own because Tan Beachy Waves And Honey Blond Extensions saw Square Head Lightly Squinting Designer Stubble and thought, 'yeah, that's my Brayden' but actually it was Chadley who was also mistaking McKiggley for Mitchelynn

Honestly converting to fit in is such bs. I was the only Jewish girl in a class of mostly Roman Catholics and never even once considered converting to fit in.
Well I mean how do you know 😭 I’m assuming you’re talking about Layla, she was young only 16 and Mormon culture is almost synonymous with Utah culture so she was constantly surrounded by it
In addition to what @Valentineatelier said about the Mormon faith permeating Utah culture. There’s also the proselytizing aspect of the LDS Church. Everyone is expected to serve a mission with the specific purpose of converting more people to the faith. So a major part of the culture is actively trying to bring people into the church. That same expectation doesn’t exist in the Catholic Church so there wouldn’t be the same pressure on outsiders.
@@Netalula0707 your situation is really not comparable, even in rome, especially BECAUSE you're jewish. for most people judaism isn't just a religion, it's an ethnicity, something that's inherited. It makes complete sense you'd have no interest in converting. But if you don't already have an identity like that and virtually everyone around you shares an identity that you could pretty easily convert to..? not saying it's right, I think it's really sad, but it's obvious the situations are REALLY different
A marriage with a big Mormon check of approval. You can't just go to the church and say "I would like to marry here" you have to "earn it". It's the magic clothes and passwords to prove your Mormonism. Very private secret temple ceremony, not a public wedding.
In addition to what the other commenter said, temple weddings can only be attended by Mormons. I found out outsiders aren’t allowed in temples in high school when I was invited to my friend’s sister’s reception and gentle told only Mormons could attend the temple wedding :’)
I'm a mormon and we believe in being married for eternity and not just till death, you can choose to get married in the temple, its just more private and simple. I am very dissapointed outsider can't come into the temples but they have open houses where anyone can come in!

Tyler I love when you bring out the wall! ❤️❤️❤️
WAITED FOR THIS ONE
@@Valentineatelier i was 12 and living in Rome.
@@Netalula0707 right….so your situation’s different
@@Netalula0707 your situation is really not comparable, even in rome, especially BECAUSE you're jewish. for most people judaism isn't just a religion, it's an ethnicity, something that's inherited. It makes complete sense you'd have no interest in converting. But if you don't already have an identity like that and virtually everyone around you shares an identity that you could pretty easily convert to..? not saying it's right, I think it's really sad, but it's obvious the situations are REALLY different
I’m not Mormon - what is a “temple marriage”? Is that just when the husband and wife get married in a church?
A marriage with a big Mormon check of approval. You can't just go to the church and say "I would like to marry here" you have to "earn it". It's the magic clothes and passwords to prove your Mormonism. Very private secret temple ceremony, not a public wedding.
@@SpicyPlur thank you for the explanation!
THIS IS SO GOOD I had no idea about anyyyyy of this
Thank you for this Tyler! You are the goat, now I don’t have to sit through 8 episodes.
Ok thank u bc I was so confused apparently no one in the show was actually doing the swinging
Thanks for enduring all of that so we don't have to, enjoyed your synopsis!
