- Queen Elizabeth II's coffin left parliament's medieval Westminster Hall on Monday, borne by red-jacketed soldiers from the Grenadier Guards, en route to her state funeral. The coffin had lain in state in the hall since Wednesday, viewed by hundreds of thousands of public mourners. It was placed on the state gun carriage, to be hauled by Royal Navy sailors to the funeral in nearby Westminster Abbey.

The pipes and drums always get me on these occasions!
im an Australian born Asian so HRM has been in the background growing up and didnt think that Queens passing had any impact on me. I like the rest of the world had noticed but I, thought I really didnt care. But as soon as those boys pulled tight on that line and linked hands and the pipes began everytime i looked at that coffin and remembered who lay insie i didnt stop crying until the pipes stopped. Picture a guy standing at attention in his bedroom watching the Tv crying.
4:08 . Still gets me more than 5 months after. The men and women Royal Navy Ratings did an outstanding duty.
It’s a shame the commentators can’t do their research for such an important event, the officers with the white plumes close to the coffin are not the household cavalry, they are The Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.
🙌 Sending LOVE from SA 🇿🇦❤️❤️❤️🙏🕊️🇬🇧🕊️🇬🇧🕊️🇬🇧🕊️
As soon as the pipes and drums started my eyes went wet
The only TV station to have commentary over the solemn parade and ruin it
They did her proud. Defiantly arrangements she would of approved of. To me she was the most beautiful woman in the world apart from my own mother
I would have liked to see more of the Pipes and Drums in the procession after the service, very moving and entirely apt for the occasion.
Her majesty choose the same pipe tunes that her mother, the queen mother, had requested on her final journey, the only exception being the queen mother also had Oft in the stilly night.
just a word to ALL the OVERSEAS commentators when watching an Important occasion ( inside Westminster Abbey, during a VERY IMPORTANT SERVICE) you really really need to learn to BE SILENT.Please dont try and fill every second of empty air, some pictures really DO SPEAK A THOUSAND WORDS. the english " Experts"!! have NO excuse to blather on and on. Bear this advice in mind at the CORONATION.
Ruined by people babbling on !
