Pat's dad was a man of letters. Burning the books at the end would be kinda fucked up and make little sense.
My teenage cousin is OBSESSED with getting into Stanford. It is as if her life will be over if she doesn't get in. It makes me really sad because, "no one cares" in real life. She's 15 and has no life because all she does is school. I was skateboarding, playing in bands, goofing around and still managed to get a degree and have a good life. Considered sending her this song, maybe with lyrics. Thoughts anyone?

Remind her she has her whole life to work, but only so much time to enjoy life.
If that's what she wants then good luck to her. Hopefully, her parent's remind her that it's not the 'be all and end all' though because not all dreams are realised. I feel more sorry for the kids pressured by their parents, when it's obvious the kid neither wants it, nor are they really suited to said path.
graduated in last November with my bachelors in social work and only worked in an corporate office for 8 years/ major career change haha and the pressure still isn’t gone and the thought of my masters make me want to projectile vomit

hahahaha oh buddy..... the real grind starts after the degree. I got a econ degree also and you will be surprised how much you really use it. You will get a solid job. However using the degree effectively is the challenge.
