- Lost his arms from an accident at age 10, Liu Wei from Beijing never gives up living strong. He managed to do everything with his feet and started to learn to play piano at age 19. His dream is to become a musician. He just turned 23 and he won the China's Got Talent Show on Oct. 10, 2010. In the final, he played piano and sang the song "You Are Beautiful", perhaps his vocal is not the best render of this song, but the power and inspiration of his zest for life won him the final. Bravo! Liu Wei's motto is,"I have two options - I can die as fast as possible, or I can live a brilliant life. And I chose the latter." Congrats to Liu Wei!

This guy learned playing the piano at the age of 19. I was stupid to think that learning to play the violin at the age of 17 was too late. To think that I have a complete set of arms and legs when he himself had no arms.
This video inspired me to have a strong heart and great passion like him.

I'm happy that I watched this video. This young man does a fantastic. I'll bet his friends and family are so proud of him. He doesn't have arms but he makes up for that loss with his soul and dedication. I'm glad that the voters, judges were able to look past any issues with his voice and focus on how much time and dedication was put into this song. He's singing a totally different language and playing piano with feet. He deserved to win.
Liu Wei serves as inspiration and hope to all whose lives have been shattered and inflicted with too much intolerable pains and bad experiences, I can't help myself to cry while watching and listening at this truly -amazing young man. In spite of his physical condition he doesn't feel hopeless, sorrow, weak, and pessimistic.He accepts his fate courageously.He doesn't get drown with self-pity and self-uselessness.He clearly shows us that nothing is impossible- with strong determinations.BRAVO!

How important is every second. What Liu Wei did is - imposiible!- He is playing piano with his feet - and this is enough amasing and worth of highets respect. But - he started to LEARN playing piano with the age of 19! In order to achieve this level in five years time, you have to live so intense that every month is like an year.

Am I the only person who thinks his singing was a bit ropey?
Impressive piano playing for saying he's using his feet (although I do wonder how he's going to use the sustain/mute pedals).
So, yeah he deserves the credit for playing piano with no arms, but that doesn't affect his vocal work.
Its all about position, try to sing this way with the feet up
I find it how people heart breaking how people can actually dislike this... This is proof that the human is able to accomplish anything if they have enough will to get to it no matter what the odds

am i the only one not impressed with this? First of all his vocals were definitely not that good, made me cringe a couple times. Second of all the piano part was not that hard to play. Yes he played with his toes, but there wasnt anything complicated and since he uses his feet for everything i assume he has to have much higher dexterity then what was displayed here. Idk i didnt think he was that good i expected more

well no, you have a point. it IS easier for him because that's what he has been using his life, but you still have to realize it's his feet and toes. they don't have the dexterity and flexibility or reach/spread that fingers do, even with constant use and training. your toes will never stretch as far as your fingers can and be able to play 10 notes at once.
Jessiker the thing is that he didn't heven play two notes at once( with the same feet,like we do with our hands when for playing chords) or stretched his feet.
Wich explains why he said he thought it wasn't that hard.

It is astounding to me that on such a moving, heart-wrenching, amazing story of a person who lost his arms and still found the courage to go on, to even succeed beyond people without his handicap, there are still narrow-minded people here who choose to ignore the beauty of it all and post racist hate-filled comments instead.
