I've been using the p20 pro for a little over 2 years and I have been extremely happy with it. I am giving the p40 pro a shot and will be getting one real soon
Gotta say, I'm not missing Play Services overly much. I never integrated them too deeply into my daily life anyway, luckily. Gmail - don't care, can just add the account to the regular old email app. UA-cam - A combination of Vanced and a browser bookmark is working very well for me. Maps - It does complain that it won't work without play services on startup - then proceeds to work perfectly. No complaints there. The only thing I actually miss is Android Auto because my Hyundai i10 supports it, but I can honestly live with just using the phone itself for navigation. Not really using any of the other stuff, and there's very little I can't get from the Aurora store or APKpure. So for the price of some very minor inconveniences, I get an absolutely stellar phone. That's good enough for me.
Similar situation here, even on a phone with google play services, the only app that I really use is the play store, for whicch I already have 3 other app stores anyways( appgallery, APKpure, aptoide), so this no google situation really isn't an issue for me
@@indreams22 More than 3 years later, no, of course not. I did use it for a long time though and didn't have any meaningful issues. Went with an S22 Ultra after the P40 Pro. Still was a pretty damn good phone.

Its amazing how some tech reviewers change their tunes on why we need more than Apple and Google app store but I remember when Microsoft wanted to do the same many of the reviewers never gave them a chance.
This phone can run most Android apps without problems and those apps can be regularly updated using unofficial app stores. Microsoft's Windows Phone Store was a barren wasteland and app updates were non-existent.
Amir Alavi What’s the different between what Microsoft did and what Huawei is doing? At least Microsoft had real functional apps and not browser linked apps.

Huawei is developing their own services without any dependency with Google APKs. They already have many services ready I believe, so users won't notice any differences except everything will happen in different service
I loved this fluid and well rounded review of this new flagship device. I’ve watched a couple of reviews of it already and have yet to find someone not liking this machine. Thank you! I am having a difficult time waiting to buy the P40 Pro as my iPhone 10 is tough as nails and still gives me what I need. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll make the purchase by year end.

Excellent device for anyone who wants superb camera, fast processor and excelent charging + battery. Been using mine for some time now and even without google i got everything needed to get it work.
At first I wouldn't entertain this phone. But the more I see the more I like. I'm really underwhelmed with my s20 ultra to sat the least. Was hoping to get rid of that for the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro. But if the rumours are right about its new price I won't be getting that. I'm leaning towards this phone tbh. I'm not worried about the app situation. There's a work around for those. And in fairness to Huawei their phones in my opinion have the best cameras bar none! They seem to have had the sensible approach. 90hz instead of 120hz refresh rate which is definitely the sweet spot 50x zoom instead of that absolutely useless 100x zoom on my s20 ultra. Yep looking promising.
I'm very tempted to buy one. But I haven't fount one single review or article on how I could connect my Wear OS watches to the new Huawei phones! Not to mention, Google Maps 🤦🏽♂️
@Nilab Nangarhari I did. While I enjoyed the designed, I could not stand the battery life and overheating from the Exynos processor in our region. Prefere using the Galaxy Fold (as it comes with Qualcom) & the P30 Pro
@@23brazo23 Aha. I'd get around 3 hours SOT max! Compare it to what I get with the Galaxy Fold 7:30 SOT & The P30 Pro just under 9 hours SOT.

As a Huawei fan, it's really happy to see someone still making a Huawei phone review seriously and without bias after the US ban for the Huawei company. Monopoly is not what we want, I hope Huawei and Google can both work on their ecosystems even harder so as customers, we can really benefit from this competition. With the HUGE market support in Asia, especially in China, I believe they won't disappoint us in the future!
my next Huawei phone for sure. great video thanks.

@SavageArfad I use Huawei too and have never had any security issues, All the accusations against Huawei are merely accusations, there is no evidence. However, talk about something and you'll soon see IG ads about it , an indication about who is actually extracting data & it sure isn't Huawei

Well I own the Mate 30 pro and I can tell that life without GMS is absolutely better :) Huawei offers the best specs (except for the 120Hz thing, but lets see how batteries behave in those phones and how long it takes for Samsung Users to disable the feature). The esthetic of the phones is just perfect (but this depends on each individual opinion) and improves competence in the market, which is always a good thing to have...
Amir Alavi Also there is no design difference with the Samsung Galaxy S10. The phone looks like a full carbon copy of the Samsung phone.
@@AsuquoTravelsProductions you seem to hate huawei, the problem at the moment is trump not google. trump presidency will end then this google issue disappear and everything go back to normal for huawei beating all flagships once again

Huawei: lets make an assistant and make it original.
Also Huawei: lets call it celia, not siri.
Ciri 😂
The Chinese or Japanese pronounce "l" as "r" and vice versa. So it's even more similar to siri.😂

Hope to get your reply or video to guide us soon...
Anyway thx for the videos. 😊
If you download those apps from unofficial stores such as APKPure, you will also get regular updates.
Same might be true about the AppGallery.
Huawei is developing their own services without any dependency with Google APKs. They already have many services ready I believe, so users won't notice any differences except everything will happen in different service
You can still get Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and other non-google apps from Huawei, for google apps, other comments offered some solutions.

At first I wouldn't entertain this phone. But the more I see the more I like. I'm really underwhelmed with my s20 ultra to sat the least. Was hoping to get rid of that for the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro. And in fairness to Huawei their phones in my opinion have the best cameras bar none!
