That was fun....your wife is cool, and quite spikey. Love the relationship that you obviously have. Man she even called you 'HOT', so you are doing something right Ryan! Particularly loved the "I don't want to see the ice on the windscreen" sketch - very funny. Best wishes from the UK
LOL... My wife's an RN like yours and I'm a retired emergency responder. When you said you and your wife like to do things together, she shook her head no and that just cracked me up because that's EXACTLY what my wife would do or say!
Going through your videos and stumbled upon this one. I lived in NLR for 8.5 years and now live in TX. I didnt know i lived so close to a famous person! Love the videos!
I live in south Arkansas and have been watching your channel for a few years now. I really like your channel and I’m glad that you started posting again.
Ryan, Cool career progression to "jet pilot"! I worked for Air Evac at Springdale as the Lead Flight Nurse the day it started back in the 90's. Arkansas is a great state to rotor wing around!! Stay safe!
I used to fly Metroliners for Scheduled Skyways at FYV Drake Field Fayetteville AR back in 1979-80. I enjoyed living there. Great hearing about your background.
Dude, your story is insane! I don't think very many people would handle what you've done...I know I wouldn't. Bad timing, lack of funds, and not being great with making connections has me failing my aviation career, no matter how talented I may be. Business aviation is what I would have liked, but Each time I restart my flying I get grounded. 4 times I've had to quit flying, and now in my 40's I don't see myself flying again. Can't do it without money
In 2021, the Baptist chopper flew down to El Dorado to take my newborn daughter to the NICU at Baptist after aspirating a large amount of amniotic fluid. We really appreciated the Baptist flight medics - they were very professional and did a great job making my wife feel confident that our daughter was in good hands. It was tough watching our 6 hour old daughter fly away in the chopper but the Baptist crew was amazing. My daughter spent 10 days in the NICU and is now almost 3 years old :)
Great to hear that there was a happy outcome! Baptist MedFlight is the helicopter that I flew for. They are great people there, just like you experienced.
You've been a busy guy. I'm impressed. I did a little chopper time as a US Air Force Pararescueman (combat search and rescue medic) in Vietnam. I then worked as a C-5 and C-141 crew chief at Travis AFB in Northern, Ca. and retired in 2012. Now volunteering with the Civil Air Patrol Search and Rescue program locally. Fun ! Enjoy the videos !
Pilot AND a tiller operator AND on a medical chopper! Dang we need to meet😊 OMG I need to wait till the end to comment. Lol you answered my question! How cool! Love the vids man! We come from very similar back grounds.
Thanks for submitting the question! I was actually assigned to the engine, so I didn’t tiller all the time. We would get moved over as needed when someone was off. Easily the best job on the department!
Dude that’s so insane! I’m a firefighter/paramedic literally looking at going the same path right now!! I’m praying through it right now but hopeful it works out!
Good luck to you! The firefighter schedule lends itself quite well to working towards a goal like this. No one wants to instruct, but I would recommend getting your CFI as early as you can. I held off for a long time, but it was the final push I needed to get where I am. Don’t delay, just get it over with!
Dude, so cool! You have a great wife to do what she did to help you get there! Being in my early 60’s I am a little late but working the day job and doing CFI on the side. 1100 hours right now. Would love to do what you are doing. So frigging cool!
So Ryan where can the Rest of Us fellas Get some of those Fire pants 👖 🔥 She didn't deny that the Pants and your personality solid the Deal!!❤😊 Love the channel keep it up
Thank you Mike! Your professionalism is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to finally become a pro pilot! You’d be amazed how much I learned from you sitting back there.
I am so happy for you brother! We are so blessed to be able to be a part of this aviation UA-cam community. Keep doing what you are doing. You are inspiring others to remain steadfast on their journeys! Fly well! ✈️✈️✈️
Ryan, you're completed the track that I'm on. Starting with fire and flying. Working for AMC now close to Little Rock on rotor and fixed wing. I'm pursuing the pilot route and starting to put time in. Thank you for this video. If you ever want to do some teaching, I can make the time!
Glad you liked the video, and congrats on pursing being a pilot! I flew fixed wing Medevac for a little bit. I thought it would be neat to also be a PRN flight paramedic for the same organization so I could have Pilot/Flight Medic on my name badge. Never happened though!
@@TheRunwayRyan Did a few tiller runs in Tampa back in the day…(80’s) What a ride! Was a volunteer at the Gunn Highway VFD for quite a few years in the mid 80’s. Did my 240 while active duty at MacDill but finished my 20+ here in Little Rock. Miss the fire service and the Air Force.
That’s a tough one. The vision jet is good for that (compared to the SR22) because as you mentioned it is pressurized, and it is smoother/quieter. I didn’t like the vision jet, and there are some situations where the SR22 can actually carry more weight than the vision jet due to alternate fuel requirements. I think there’s many better options than the vision jet out there, but I would say it is the most attainable owner-flown jet.
Great video as always! We are usually at YingLing at ICT but heard that facility is awesome. Been career FF/EMT for 29 years and working on my commercial so when I get off the DROP can do some flight instruction.
Not only do I love your videos, but I have to agree with a few of these. Super cool career as a fire fighter myself empty myself a few rides on the bird myself. Super cool! Just to add to that last comment your wife is a total Smokeshow. I’m lucky to have one that’s far out of my league as well! Keep up the good work and the great flying maybe someday her daughter will follow in your footsteps through the path! I have high hopes for mine! Love the Contant bro!!
Do you have any interest in flying for a Corporate Jet manufacturer such as Dassault Falcon Jet in Little Rock? I retired from there after 34 years in the engineering & certification departments. Fantastic company to work for.
I won't say never, but as of right now I don't think that's quite what I am looking for. I think the cloverleaf test crew would be interesting, but I don't feel like it would be something I would enjoy long term. I like going to different destinations and seeing he country/world. I have heard that they are a great company though!
Chicks dig a man in uniform. Turnout gear or a police uniform, it doesn’t matter. I was a cop (state trooper) so I was in the ER weekly investigating crashes. I’m absolutely NOT a handsome man. I wore a wedding band to work BEFORE I got married to keep em at bay.
Networking more than luck, but I do admit that being in the right place at the right time plays a huge role. I stated flying the CJ3+ with only 1500 hours too.
Oh my God are you unique that you have that many chat hours and you're so good that's amazing I would've thought you to have 30,000 hours tremendous congratulations
That was fun....your wife is cool, and quite spikey. Love the relationship that you obviously have.

Thank you for watching!
What an AWESOME story! You and your wife are truly blessed. I always wanted to be a pilot, love to fly, but it never happened for me.
Thank you, very blessed!
Why did it never happen for you?
Dude, you’re my hero!
I’m only 66 years old but when I grow up I wanna be just like you!
Haha thank you! Very blessed to be in this situation.
LOL... My wife's an RN like yours and I'm a retired emergency responder. When you said you and your wife like to do things together, she shook her head no and that just cracked me up because that's EXACTLY what my wife would do or say!
They are a unique breed the nurses!

Nice, thanks for watching! Hope you are enjoying Texas
I live in south Arkansas and have been watching your channel for a few years now. I really like your channel and I’m glad that you started posting again.
Thank you for watching! Hoping to release a few more videos before too long. Sometimes it’s hard to make them, so I apologize for the long gaps
Love this video! Your wife is hysterical! Keep them coming Ryan, I watch every one of them!
Thank you very much! She is pretty entertaining, that's for sure. More to come!
Ryan, Cool career progression to "jet pilot"! I worked for Air Evac at Springdale as the Lead Flight Nurse the day it started back in the 90's. Arkansas is a great state to rotor wing around!! Stay safe!
Real cool! I worked for Springdale Fire for a while before we moved to Little Rock.
Great Job! Thank you for sharing your path of success. May God continue to bless your journey. Blessings....
Thank you very much, Glad you liked the video!
Now thats one heck of a road to jets! Well done! Funny wife.....
Thank you! I’ve been very blessed with the opportunities I’ve had.
I used to fly Metroliners for Scheduled Skyways at FYV Drake Field Fayetteville AR back in 1979-80. I enjoyed living there. Great hearing about your background.
Love the Fayetteville area!

So good Ryan.
Thanks for all the vids and your wonderful example.
Thank you for the kind words, glad you liked the video.
Me being a former FF/EMT, airplane buff, I enjoy the blogs, Thank's and stay safe!!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Always enjoy the stories of how other pilots started flying. New subscriber, thank you to the UA-cam big brother for suggesting you. 😅
Glad to hear that it is suggesting me! Thank you for watching, and glad to have you here!
Congratulations
What a wonderful story and a testament to faith and family.
Thank you!
Another great video - thanks. Love the banter!.
Thank you, she’s pretty witty!
As always great video Ryan. Impressive resume.

Well, I’m a new subscriber. Just discovered you guys. This is the first vid I’ve seen. Well done to 10k!
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you here!
Haha, I'm the high wing / low wing guy and fellow Arkansan. Fly out of KFLV now but hope to make it back upon retirement.
Nice! Thank you for sending in the question!
Thanks, Smokey Pants, good story.
Thanks for watching!
So Ryan where can the Rest of Us fellas Get some of those Fire pants 👖 🔥
She didn't deny that the Pants and your personality solid the Deal!!❤😊
Love the channel keep it up
Haha, thank you for the comment! You've got to go to the academy to get those!
Congrats on 10k
Thank you!!
Enjoy watching your videos, Ryan. Miss flying with you, my friend. Fly safe.

Yo Ryan…… Welcome home tiller driver! Just me, a diesel mechanic from Cabot!
Nice! Tillering was the most fun in the fire service, that’s for sure!

Curious if you would like the Vision Jet over the Cirrus recip as a personal plan - pressurization and kids seem to go hand in hand
That’s a tough one. The vision jet is good for that (compared to the SR22) because as you mentioned it is pressurized, and it is smoother/quieter. This was awesome learning about how you came to this point.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! Thanks for sharing all the information. Very interesting and enjoyable.
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Great video Ryan!
Thank you!
Got my sub! Awesome video!
Thank you for watching and glad to have you here!
Congratulations on 10k . I don't fly because of eye sight but really enjoy watching the flying videos.
Thank you very much, I’m glad you like the videos!
Great video as always! We are usually at YingLing at ICT but heard that facility is awesome. Been career FF/EMT for 29 years and working on my commercial so when I get off the DROP can do some flight instruction.
Best of luck! There’s a lot of pilots who were firefighters!
Forestry baby!!!!!! Good ole’ M78
Sure enough!
Awesome work Ryan!
Thanks a ton!
Great video! Love it.
Thank you!
Good video!
Thank you very much!

Well Done
Thank you!
Love your videos
Thank you very much! Tell your friends!
Im also a FF/Medic by trade but I really want to become a pilot!
You should do it! The FD scheduled allows for plenty of time to get your ratings and build hours.
Mama is a pistol. Good stuff capt.
She sure is!
Actually, you're right. Grouch. But, I'd hope/assume that's just playing.
It is! She's a sweetheart, just not 100% comfortable in front of the camera
Do you have any interest in flying for a Corporate Jet manufacturer such as Dassault Falcon Jet in Little Rock?
I retired from there after 34 years in the engineering & certification departments. Fantastic company to work for.

do you know Greg Brown he was a medic on medflight
No, I don't know him. He might have been before my time.
Ok fire brother Ryan i am 45 years old.... is it too late for me to work my way to pilot job? I hear mixed answers
That's almost 20 years of flying at an airline still if you had your ratings and went today. Never too late!
Great video, new sub here.
Thank you very much, glad to have you here!
oh snap retired ff/pm myself want to get into flying my friend. 300 hours on sim mostly CRJ4 and tbm930 all fake of course lol
👍👍👍
Thank you!
@0:01 never mention go home day😂😂
Quite an impressive resume...

You’re supposed to be paying attention…
🤣
She’s always watching out for me!
The best kind of airplanes are other people's airplanes. Like you, more than half of my total hours logged are in other people's airplanes.
That's exactly why I changed careers and became a full time pilot
Wife doesn’t seem to be happy???
She wishes she would have married the football star
K I N D A fun I suppose.. be well safe and sterile needs in cockpit. Be good Onward 🌈 for better tommorrow and clean up ready. Bye bye
2k hours? Yea just luck
Networking more than luck, but I do admit that being in the right place at the right time plays a huge role. I stated flying the CJ3+ with only 1500 hours too.
