It’s looks to me replacing the current vintage spec reissue diamond brackets to the modern G4825 diamond brackets would solve the problem. It’s a shame to order such an high end kit & all the parts don’t match.
    Hopefully it will be fixed

It’s been over a month and the Gretsch rep up here in Canada has done nothing to resolve this. Starting to wonder if I should have gone with a Ludwig Legacy kit instead. Not a great first experience with Gretsch which I thought their quality control was flawless.

That sucks man! Like I said before for the price of these high end kits we should get matching customer service!
Last year (end of April) I placed an order for a broadkaster kit that was supposed to be finished in around 9 months. After many delays, I’m still not expecting it to be finished until end of December now. Getting information from gretsch is like pulling teeth. It shouldn’t be this way

That's lame at any price. Not sure who you bought it from but I'm sure they'll take it back. But it's a colossal pain and waste of time packing all that up to return it. Unless they just send shorter wing nuts and better fitting floor legs.

Tgats why vintage spec remakes suck somtimes is your remaking the stuff that had issues or just plain sucked. Ive never played a gretsch kit, but damn i wish i had your set
