We, who are enjoying the recording remotely, owe a great debt to not only the superb artistry of the musicians and the craftsmanship of the film crew, but also the excellent skills of the audio recording staff. Thank you, thank you, thank you, whoever you are.

I am honored to have met prof. Julia Fischer twice. She teaches at Munich University of Music and organises free concerts by her talented young students. Amazing and very kind person on and off the stage. Also, Congrats to prof. Ferenc Krausz, one of this year physics Nobel prize winners, I am honered to be one of his students at the University of Munich LMU.

@A.J314, I did not know Julia Fischer is that popular/famous. My innocence, till today. Years ago I bought classic violin music by her through iTunes advertising a new release in classical music. The picture of her in the album is a young lady in her early twenties. And I said, wow she’s talented! Needless to say, I loved what I heard so I bought the album! Time and time again I would listen to it if I want to listen to pleasant and happy classical music. I can say, I had sophisticated ears not realizing she’s famous!

Good on you! I've graduated with a bachelor of music (contemporary) and bachelor of business. Even though I'm not Swedish, I'm Australian. I am classically trained. But I've had lecturer who study at royal college of music, Griffith University, University of New South Whales, Sydney University all of whom study their phd or doctor of musical arts degree. Even though my degree was focus on contemporary performance, I didn't do any classical music. I still till this day play classical music. But anyone who has the ability to play any instrument, their brain works differently, IQ is different than a regular person, I don't know the scientific terminology for that is. But I know from my experience playing multiple instrument, I finish high school at age of 16 and went to uni age of 17 and graduated with two majors. I met alot of uni friends on campus who study their postgraduate degree master of music programs and already graduated and now pursuing their doctorate degree in America or I have 2 friends who's not pursuing music anymore and now doing their doctor of medicine degree to become medical doctor instead. People who say that majoring in music is useless, I deny that statement, music has help me put me through uni and I attended to a top performance arts school in my state when I was high school student. Not only that, I just graduated my bachelor of business (honours) course and now thinking to pursuing a phd in business later.

To the pioneers of quantum dots, Profs. Moungi Bawendi (MIT) at 1:12 and Prof. Louis Brus (Columbia University) (1:49) we salute you! From the symphony of a quantum confined wave function (the electron) in CdSe to the glorious sonic waves from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, all is harmony. There is no better way to introduce the wave nature of electrons then with the vibrating string, notes and music! The constructive interference of electrons creates chemical bonds that form the basis of life as we know it, while sound waves create the wondrous and joyous expression of life through music. Science and art are more entangled then we realize

I was also surprised that the distiguished guests and public have no idea that Brahms' concert has 3 movements, and they should not applaude in between...First I guessed they thought there will be played only the first movement...( is true that part's end sounds like it's the end of the entire concert -don't know why Brahms composed it this way, would be interesting to find out)...afterwards I thought they went so enthusiastic about the interpretation, that they couldn't help themselves to give applause after each part of the concert.

A wonderful celebration concert and Julia Fischer was just superb in this Concerto by Brahms. One thing I am curious about - the audience clapped between movements of this concerto. Is it now a tradition to clap between movements in Europe? In my city in Canada, clapping is discouraged and all of that is saved until after the major work is completed.
