Hi everyone, I'm so sorry but I made a mistake in the first round. To clarify I'm making a size small - Ch 3, DC 34, 3DC, DC 25, 3DC, DC 35, 3DC, DC 25, 3DC, sl st to join = 132 sts. Please refer to the free written pattern on my blog - forthefrills.com/crochet-magnolia-sweetheart-crop-top-free-crochet-pattern-video-tutorial Grace
A little question I have. I made my top in an xl, and I tried on the yoke and one sleeve is larger than the other. I don't know what I did wrong. Any tips or help?
Wow I never saw the comments until I tried the pattern 3 times and each time it was wrong. The pattern is very cute just wish I seen the comments first about how you got the pattern wrong. So now i think i have your numbers right so i am continuing and hopefully it works out.
Hi Tina, I'm just working into the foundation chain for the first row. Some people prefer picking up both loops but I find it easier to just pick up one :) Grace
Hi Grace I tried to crochet this and when I was on round 1 of the yoke I was at the end and I was following the pattern and I had a few extra chains..... could you please tell me if u know what I did wrong.... : ) Thanks
HI I really need a response fro someone and fast. I am making mine in a size xs, but mine seems to be way too big. I havent finished mine yet. what should I do?
Hi Sophia, how far into the project are you? If you've passed the yoke phase and its too big please view the free written pattern (link in description) and make sure your gauge is correct. It its not adjust your hook size accordingly. Also, I always recommend swatching your gauge and checking the pattern's measurements whenever you're making a garment to make sure that it will fit correctly! Grace :)
Hello, your video is very beautiful, I have a doubt for the big size says, 132 Ch but after following all your intrusions I have 19 points left before the end or I can't find what to do, help. PD: I'm taduuiendo your video because I really only understand Spanish.
Hi, in the video I'm making a size Small, If you're making a different size please follow the stitch counts for your size which is in the blog post - forthefrills.com/crochet-magnolia-sweetheart-crop-top-free-crochet-pattern-video-tutorial
Hi Grace, I crocheted this exact top and referred to the instructions to make a size S. It turned out beautifully; however, the neckline was quite tight and the armholes a little too tight, too. I suppose I need more width concerning armholes and bustline, and would like the neckline to be a bit "deeper" (mine ended just like 2,5 cm beneath my collar bones.) The body part wasn't tight however; it was pretty loose and it shouldn't be wider. So now I undid the whole thing and am ready to start again. I use category 3 cotton yarn. Do you have any recommendations how I can achieve the perfect fit? Was thinking about making a foundation chain of 132 stitches to achieve the "deeper" neckline and then maybe kind of experiment my way down the body, since I think that the default 3DCs would result in a top too wide... Would love to hear any suggestions! Best, Aylin
Hi Aylin, Just wondering if you checked your gauge (all details listed in the free pattern on my blog! - linked in the description bar)? It sounds like your foundation was too tight so it made the rest of the top tighter. If you'd like to alter the top, I'd suggest creating a yoke that's closer to a square rather than a rectangle so if you want to start with 132 sts each section you would have 33 sts and then when you connect the yoke together, chain around 4-8 stitches in between the armholes. I hope this helps, Grace :)
Hi Grace, Thanks for your advice! My gauge seems to be a little smaller than the one you had - problem solved :) Thank you very much for your help! Since I am posting here, just wanted to let you know that I crocheted quite an amount of tops from your blog, thank you so much for doing what you are doing! Best, Aylin
Hi, hope you answer. I had a question. I'm doing a size small and I stitched 124 then did the 33,23,33,23 but I have 5 chains left after putting the last round of 3 DC in one chain. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Cassie, I think you might have followed the wrong size for Row 1. 33, 23, 33, 23 is for size XS not size small. In the written pattern size small is the first number inside the brackets. I hope this helps, Grace :)
@@forthefrills Hi thanks very much for the pattern but I'm abit confused. Were you meaning to say you were making size extra small in the video?
Hi Shani, oh I'm so sorry I realised I misspoke in the first round. For the first portion you had your turning chain = 1 DC + 34DC = 35DC. And then 3DC, DC 25, 3DC, 35 DC, 3DC, DC 25, 3DC, sl st to join. = 132 sts. I think I must have gotten confused with size XS when recording the voiceover. @@forthefrills okay Grace, thanks very much for the clarification and the pattern! I still haven't finished but I cant wait to see how it will turn out!
I'm usually an xl but when I chained 132 it seemed so small so I went to 3xl and chained 140 but it was still to small, did I do something wrong? Or do I just need a bigger size
Hi Kristin, Most likely your gauge is off or your tension is too tight! I recommend checking out the written pattern (linked in the description) to check your gauge. Grace
Hi Nene, I think 5ply yarn might be a bit too thin and your gauge will be off. You could try holding 2 strands of 5 ply yarn and see if you can meet gauge :)
Hi, unfortunately 250m isn't enough to make size S - you'll probably need twice that amount! All the yarn amounts are in the blog post (linked in the description) Grace :)
The reason I'm asking is i checked online and fou d that dk=8 ply... but the 8 ply yarn that is available in our city/ online in my country is worsted weight... your dk yarn looks thinner than my 8ply yarn... please guide me!

Hi, I am using size 3.5mm crochet pin, how do I know the measurements??
