@@dannyphantom121 😴 that 'big metal bar' is not a 'b m b' !! It's a normal sized bit that fits his mouth ( they are not one size fits all- obvs) and of course they can drink with one I their mouths!

it's the 2nd time I have seen this happen. The 1st time a mounted guard requested it.
Tbh in all the years that I’ve been around them that’s possibly the 3/4 time I’ve seen it, mind, I can’t remember what the weather was doing at the time!
It was a very hot day. You will probably see them watered all week as the weather uk will be unusually hot for this time of year

This horse was not drinking, he was playing in the water. When horses drink, you cannot hear a thing. The upper lip thing is called the Flemming response. It is done to collect more scents in the air. Stallions do it around mares.

@@dannyphantom121Horses suck the water up between there teeth, they don't gulp like us.
The bit bar does not prevent them from drinking or eating ( even though they shouldn't eat with a bit in the mouth/being ridden etc)

He is such a character.
He is so patient and relaxed and often takes little snoozes when those pesky tourists give him a bit of peace.
I think he's quite new and young but he seems to have the sweetest nature.
And his Guard matches him beautifully.He too seems relaxed and laid back too.

It could be a Canadian horse . The Canadian Mounties are very closely involved with the royal family and have gifted the family many Canadian horses over the years which are always used in our processions/ weddings /coronation and jubilees. They most recently led the funeral of queen Elizabeth and the trooping the colour 🇬🇧🇨🇦

Yes they do smile, I have seen it many times, also look on UA-cam you see this on clips when someone is helping them. They are very tuned in and are used for healing.

Horses are prey animals and, as such they do not want to attract predators. They suck water into their mouths silently. You can tell how much they drink by counting swallows. About 30 to a gallon. This horse was playing in the water. It is a very popular pastime for a lot of horses
