This was my moms fav movie. She watches it a few times a year my whole life. I called and asked and she swears it’s “he will come”. She went into detail as to why that line specifically always spoke to her and is why she rewatches it so often. So I HIGHHHHLY doubt she would get it wrong
The whole idea of the Mandela effect being real is so stupid. People just misremember things or even mishear them in the first place. Yes, a huge amount of people could misremember things. Jim Carrey even got this line wrong in his movie Cable Guy. Even I misremembered this line. "If you build it, he will come." This makes way more sense than they will come, especially considering how the movie ends since the he is referring to Ray's dad. It's just that we get this wrong just like the several words we get wrong in the English language, like using to when we should use too. Someone might even write the Mandela Affect instead of the Mandela Effect.
Maybe some things sure but as a collective and on multiple things?.. I have a hard time believing my brain and millions of others are collectively imagining the same things. Sure one or two things may be remembered incorrectly but it's way more than a few things and millions of people agree.
@@ascendordie7427 My birthday (9/11) might be a thing that is not remembered correctly, but I think that is a case where we were told a lie about it and people believe the lie about it rather than it being a case of the Mandela Effect. Unfortunately, millions of people can and do believe details about something that is inaccurate. Millions of people may have thought that the sun revolved around the earth. Many people believed the earth is flat. It's not an insult to people, rather it's just how things are. It's an admission that our memories aren't perfect. It is possible that there are larger forces going on in our world, but I find it unlikely to come to that conclusion because of people (like even me) who didn't know if it's The Berenstain Bears or the Berenstein Bears. There should be much bigger examples than that to demonstrate it. Little details like that that are questioned doesn't mean much to me. There has to be something much bigger. Something that can't be questioned. Something that is so big it can't be denied. There are other signs, but I don't think misremembered words are one of them. Especially since millions of people even get English grammar wrong.

Negative ghostwriter. In your imperfect and open to suggestion memory, it was "they", but it was always "he". Look up the term "confabulation" amigo. That's why on a first watch, a lot of people would mention that when Shoeless suddenly appeared one day - they thought/assumed that was the "he" that would come...especially because the movie was an adaptation of a book called "Shoeless Joe" (assuming they didn't actually read it) but then it gets confusing again when the voice says "ease his pain" and Ray gets on the Terrance Mann kick. I can't explain the Sinbad genie M.E., but this one is null and void because although I can't remember where I put my keys 20 mins ago, I can recall most movies like I just watched them yesterday

Ok. Right. Perfect. ...exactly why I didn't mention losing my keys, or anything like that. You assume too much. I mentioned the Sinbad/Shazam instance because had I not already been in tl;dr land as it was, would have said more about how interesting the phenomenon is *in other cases*. I love it. Just because I tell you how one UFO sighting is not real, does not mean that I don't believe in UFOs. Understand? This instance is just not a good example as it is easily explainable/verifiable to some of us who do recall useless information quite well *unlike some of the other cases*. Same goes for the Queen song. People chalk that up to the Mandela Effect too, but in reality it's just that they would often sing the last line "of the world" in live performances whereas most studio versions don't have that last line in the song. Lo and behold though, the internet chalks it up to "supporting evidence" of the phenomenon :( ...I'm saying this because this topic IS very interesting, startling, creepy, and fun to discuss/debate (not argue) with others...especially in the cases where there are no good, logical explanations. That being said, trying to use easily explainable cases as support of the bigger whole is weak tea. If you want to convince someone that magic is real, you don't just pull a quarter out from behind their ear. Get it? Ask a question next time instead of auto-completing someone's argument when you don't have the vaguest idea what their argument is. If you assume what I am saying, and then counter it, then you're just arguing with yourself. You are what is wrong with the internet. ...and the news. ...and politics. ..and people. Thanks.
Everyone can relax on this one. It was misquoted in a Wheaties commercial (not sure if on purpose for legal reasons or other reasons) and everyone has, typically, seen the commercial a lot more than the movie and just filled in the blanks in their memory. See the commercial here, thanks ua-cam.com/video/5wQWpRKQd58/v-deo.html It has always been "he will come". I watch that movie about once a year.
It never said “they” it always said “He”. This is my moms favorite movie of all time and she made us watch it probably 40 times. Did your mom make you watch it that many times?? No, you just watched it once or twice 30 years ago and remember how many times that phase was reused in advertising and other shows with that alteration. Everyone of my siblings can recite just about every line from this movie. It was a staple in our house. The character Terrence Mann does say “they will come Ray” more than once at the end but “ The Voice” never said that. The movie starts out wanting you to think it means Shoeless Joe Jackson will come but at the very end you realize the “He” meant his Father. It’s amazing how many people have instantly jumped to the conclusion of a parallel universe based on there loose recollection of the actual movie. Yes I get it, you remember it said they will come, but there is a very simple reason for that that doesn’t have anything to do with multiverses. If you loved this movie, If you were a film major or if your mom forced you to watch it over and over and then would recite it though out the House then you remember that it said “He” and remember that the subtle theme of the movie and main twist was that it was about Ray(Kevin Costner) getting the opportunity to mend his relationship with his father. If you were not one of those 3 mentioned then you like everyone else remember the more obvious theme of the movie which was a guy built a baseball stadium in his corn field a bunch of cars/people showed up. That was the theme that was then picked up and passed along by people and shows and advertising. Rightfully so because that theme appeals to people...lots of people. If you believe and go for it it will happen for you!! Pretty much describes the American ideology. Unfortunately the theme - if you turn your front into an amusement part you can bring grandma back to life was not as popular and unfortunately did not go viral. So what you and everyone else is really experiencing is the association that preceded the movie and not the actual movie quote. I can just hear it now- But wait bro how do we know this guy isn’t working “for them” you know “them” or maybe this guy was already in the universe before the shift and that’s why he remembers it said “he”. Hahaha!!!
