An inspiring and beautiful watch as ever 😊 Respect for cracking on in this cold, I took one look at my half-done Honda Aerodeck wheel arch project and ran away for tea and reinforcements.
Love the cinematic start to this - always a solid 'feel' to your storytelling. I feel for you working in the CADshed at this time of year with all the polar vortices going around - at least you're moving around when you're outside and the blood doesn't congeal in quite the same way 😬
I was thinking " if you wanted to get to there you shouldn't have started from here". Then I saw the landrover interior panel come out and that's when I realised where you were going. Nice job.
Thanks for the new Patreon shoutout (David Carson) - I’m hoping to increase contributions in the New Year to help keep the builds moving 😉 P.S. Those window trim pieces look awesome 👍
Stay stuck in and good luck. There is just something mesmerizing about this sentence at the end, I almost await it with the same impatience as each of the new episodes. Take best care George and keep up the good work!
Haha! the weighing of the 'coins' and off cuts made me chuckle, done exactly the same on my projects in the vague sense/hope (or is that morbid curiosity?) of "as i'm adding this - i've saved this much in weight by taking this off..." - for sh!t's and giggles obvs!
@@breakshot7451 My little tank has 507k miles. Blew head gasket. Won’t let it go. Only drive the best. My 5.3L 2002 Silverado has 459k miles. Don’t get me started on my w116 1979 300sd, my w108 1970 280SEL and my w126 1988 300 SEL (Mercedes Benz). Solid cars!
I was wondering where this was going until I saw the Landy interior panel. You are full of ideas. Can't wait to see how you're going to design the interior layout.
The type of project that i love seeing... not the van, tho i love vans, not a merc, tho i love mercs, but a major surgery mod for whatever sensible reason... if its done well, it shows what can be done, and gives potential new insight into ones own project problems or ways of approach... Also, that mass removal was more than what the scale shows, as the plasma cutter evaporates 2mm circles... Theoretically, the mass removed by that could be closely calculated and added to 1190 grams the scale measures, and it would actually, i would wager, be around 200 or 300 grams extra, as that is the largest part of the cut, so even tho its 2 mm wide, its also 2(i assume) thick, and has the largest radius that that applies to, so it would amount to a deceptively large amount of mass removed that you cant just measure without measuring the rod itself and after it was lightened... the discs are not really all there is to it... Its just my machinist considerations, not saying that you shoulda done the precise measurement, since the whole van has a different mindset behind it, so its not like you track micro-grams shaved... All the best!
👍👌👏 Very "weld" done again (video, work and stop motion). 2) Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and health in particular.
god i love these videos, such a good thing to just chill and watch. eat a crisp and drink some coffee. but what really sets it off. is the music, SOOO many other youtubers just use the same sounding generated beat or song it kills me. not here dawg
Birb friend was a fantastic new character in the storyline. I expect great things from his character arc. Perhaps a new apprentice? Maybe he’s already gotten some experience with CAD…
Sounds like a setup issue with the hole sizing. You should be drawing them finished size and it should be automatically doing the offset of the cut width.
Why didn't you just "moved" already welded roof reinforcement, between the alpine windows? Maybe add one, or two, extra, in front, and at the back of the alpine windows? That way, you would got 3-4 reinforcement bars, that are already designed to be in that van? After that, you could do your reinforcement, but with the twist, to strengthen those punch holes, racing guys have special equipment that would do a little bent on the edge of the hole...
Will patreons get a special "behind the scenes" montage of you cursing? Like the ones out there for Sean Bean and Samuel L Jackson? 🙂 Keep at it George.
George, that is ingenious. You also employed the late great Colin Chapman's philosophy of added lightness. I'm sure he would be proud of you.
Love your attention to detail and sheer persistence even when it’s freezing your nuts off weather. I salute you!
New Soup so fast! I’m so happy! Playing this in my home theater is a real treat with your amazing choice of music and your brilliant narration+voice!
This man is an artist and a treasure. Long live Soup.
An inspiring and beautiful watch as ever 😊

What a ballsy robin... not scared of you in the slightest George!
Love the franken-fascia. I though the Lotus was cool but I think even Chapman himself would have said - ‘Now that’s some slick fitment.’
The difference the fascia added to the windows is amazing! This build is gathering pace and fantastically!
It's almost like he's planned it!

Blessed to have three soups in less than 3 months 🎉
Wow. I couldn’t understand where it was heading with the box section then you broke out the trim panel. Bravo sir, Bravo 👏🏻
Alpine glass really adds ambience and light. The trim really finishes it also.
Nicely done. Holes = race car. Like it.
A beautiful journey of transformation of both van and man.
Really cool progress especially with the plastic trim around the skylights! Like the shorter videos!
I was on the edge of my seat there when you were welding next to the Alpine windows. I was thinking "oh no. not again, please not again"!
I was thinking " if you wanted to get to there you shouldn't have started from here". Then I saw the landrover interior panel come out and that's when I realised where you were going. Nice job.
That's (for me) some cold weather to be working in! Looking good there with persistent progress being made.
Great build, big fan of the sprinter vans. That respray colour works really well.
Thanks for the new Patreon shoutout (David Carson) - I’m hoping to increase contributions in the New Year to help keep the builds moving 😉
P.S. Those window trim pieces look awesome 👍
💪🏼 thanks, Dave
The interior trim to hide all your hard work there is a nice detail and one that's really going to make the final interior look proper.
Brings back memories of converting an old Ford Transit Ambulance , back in my hippie days 🌼 thanks 👍
Nice job as usual. I have to say that I just expected you to move the roof rib to line up with the alpine windows.
ps I see you had e cold snap too!
Will. Look cool Esp with the LR interior panels around those windows. Merry Christmas George!
Thanks again George for your great video. Some of the best on UA-cam!
Glass of whisky ( Irish) and 4 days off, perfect start to the holiday.
Loving this build, as I did the previous builds, the narration adds hugely to the overall story.
Saving weight makes alot of sense in these camper builds.
At least you can park your private helicopter on the roof now👍
Clever work-around, Bub: kudos. Looks well. Keep it up. Time I bought you a coffee...
It is always sweet, no mater how short it is. The episode 😁👍
Christmas soup! Have a relaxing and restorative time George - looking forward to more adventures next year!

the opening 2 minutes were golden George, good to hear that tune make a come back in your videos ;) Cheers pal!
Perfect timing. On a break in my garage. About to re-surface an engine block to a 91 Honda Civic (D16A6).
my first car. 91 civic, until i thought my 175 cm rubber pizza cutter were 265 racing slicks i miss him;)))

Dang it George, you deserve a lot more subs, cheers from Scotland brother! Top notch.🏴👌
Amen to the inner jobsworth . The "no step" sign is a good idea
Should be ‘ no feckin’ step’!🤣🤣
Small steps gets the job done!. Really good idea with the Disco windows and using the original trim. 👍👍
Another great job! Your vision of this Sprinter is awesome. Keep up the amazing work!
This is coming along beautifully, George!
Awesome Work George ! Hope your keeping well mate Regards MEC from MEC-TEC 👍👍
Great presentation & content. Hats off to ya
The opening segment tells me you have a huge spider problem. Yikes! Nice work on those supports by the way.

Christmas is saved!!!!! You posted !!!
How’s the Lotus?
Have to admit i thought you were crazy for getting those windows to fit but it looks great
Yeh to the plans for those windows (and protecting the replacement glass at least once) 😂
So happy to see another video so soon!
You are going to tour America with the van when finished Right?!
Ello bud , what’s happened to the lotus ? I keep looking for it but .. no updates
Love ur editing and wot ur doing to the van
Long tome follower.love the content. Would be really interested to see more about the cnc machine, cost etc, seems a serious handy bit of kit
Looking good, ans Merry Christmas.
Was there a reason not to cut the holes in all 4 sides of the bars?
I got nervous when you started welding without the window shields on.
The CAD will be even easier if you use pattern tools instead of copy-paste ;)
Plasma cutter. Sweet ❤❤❤❤
Also, it’s at least ‘this much too short’ (holds out hands in front of me)!!!! 😂😂😂
My christmas gift arrived in the shape of a 16:01 clip of my favorite show👌👌👌
Looking forward to the things you do.
Great job! But it seems that original crossbars could be detached and moved to the sides of the windows.
Cad alreet ...great content great delivery

I need to meet this man and van in person when it's done..wonder where in ireland he's based
You know it's cold outside when you go outside and it's cold outside
Superb George, Mind the head and keep making those soup coins.
Amazing work
So it's a MB Sprinter Spider... Sporty 👍
Great video , great work thank you very much

I was literally just thinking of you....!
Desperate to see u back on the Esprit....whats the story and when is it likely to return?
