Hello, Saileog here. It's kind of funny to see this exchange in the comments! The version I sang here for TG4 was a version sung by Maggie McDonagh of Fínis island, Iorras Aithneach, Connemara. It was collected by Seamus Ennis in the 1940s, and is one of the songs on my first album, which is a compilation of songs from that collection. The other version linked below is the
more widely sung version which I sang with my brother and sister, we heard it from our father at first. The song is more than 200 years old and comes from northwest Mayo, the Inishkea islands are mentioned in it.
