Culinary 3D printing is new and rather niche but it could be an answer to some of the food industry's biggest challenges. The FT’s Patrick McGee meets two Dutch students using the technology to cut food waste, improve diets and combat climate change. He also finds printed food is going down surprisingly well in an Eindhoven restaurant.
3D food printing looks to be an innovative but the only problem I have is that it is only catering to clientele that have a lot of money. It is especially telling about that one company that is recycling the food and turning it around to sell it to high end clients. To me that isn't making a difference. All they are doing is just using taking old food, reprocess, repackaging it, and sell it to a rich client. I'll just wait till it reaches to a scale where a family of average means can afford and use that technology. Then and there would make a really big dent against food wastage.
Every new technology starts off expensive. Give it some time it’d be affordable (or everyone forgets it lol)
Hey guys good job loved the sky at the start good touch
If I want 3d printer ? Please provide me details.
Predicting half a billion dollars by 2023 when in reality it hit 22.39 BILLION in 2023! They definitely underestimated the value!
Fantastic
Anyone remember the movie Soilent Green? Creeping me out folk
Soylent green is people😂
The only downside is, the quantity. These things print very, very small amounts.
the way I see it we will probably be forced to eat food based on our dna
by food waste they mean saliva, whatever the fuck touched the food when it was "thrown away" and the moldy ass month old food

Make food good for your body - DNA
Very good
buen bideo
SERVE LESS FOOD THEN
@Joe Sheppard humans can do things of different sort than machines, as machines get better at substituting humans, humans will get better at doing what machines cant.. Instead of seeing it a machine taking your job you can see it a machine making you free to have a better job and thrive! (its not like that yet as we are in between phases and the system is not ready for this) Face it... if a machine can do your job, it was probably too boring for you and you can do something much better with your skills
@Bali Breeze It's called, EDUCATION. GET SOME!
@@neroarchangel Why? So you can be a brainwashed sheep?
BAN 3D FOOD NOW
Whyy?
@@sayaluv42 because i believe food is best when natural, 3d will create job losses and it will for little chefs starting out and lies can be added through human interaction and we all know humans cant be trusted at the moment, but i do see a benefit but bot yet more testing needed too
@ Yeah but people like me would REALLY like to have ready-made food prepared for me by a machine so I don't have to. Don't take away freedom of choice just because you don't like it
@@Wakish0069 you have the choice now, its not getting taken away cos i said so, there are many things that i have an opinion on and 3d printer for food is one of them, it could take jobs from people in kitchen eventually and it will in time, then we will ask why
@ Cars took jobs away from horse farms, that's just how reality works. In the future automation and artificial intelligence will kill most jobs forcing society into Universal Basic Income, it's inevitable
