Disco inferno! Cool device. Add a color-changing bulb and some good disco music (as if there was ever any bad disco music) and let the dancing begin. Oh, cool for lightning, too.
Fantastic. I plan to put it outside in my back yard. Have sound effects speakers already hooked up for bird sounds. I live in the desert where rain is very unlikely. I want to freak out the neighbors to think only my house it's going to rain. I also have speakers on the roof for the thunder effects and now with your idea of the perfect storm who knows what I can come with. Thks very ingenious
The "frugal version would be great. You can have 2 for the price of one. This would allow 2 sets of lights triggered separately giving an even more realistic feel.
that's awesome, there's other times in music videos, trippy stuff etc where it would be really cool to have all lights flashing in sync with one another
Any suggestions on bulbs for the most realistic effect? I feel like the white lights I've seen in other videos doesn't quite look right. I was thinking maybe one white and one blue or purple?
NEVER BLOW INTO A MICROPHONE. The wires inside of the microphone are finer than a human hair and can break under the pressure of the air being blown into it.Therefore causing the microphone to fail.
Replace the microphone with a phono jack and use a Computer/Smartphone/MP3-Player with storm-sound to trick the box in to thinking someone blows the mic

Very cool! Looking forward to the DIY version.

I can't find this or anything similar anywhere! I don't know if it's just because I'm in thr Uk but my life needs this!!
Seems like a missing feature not to have an XLR, jack or RCA input.

Great overview of the Perfect Storm, looking forward to you DIY Frugal Storm. lol.
Norman? NORMAN! Mother loves you.
I'd love to see this set up to music. Might be good for my DJ rig too!
Nice stuff! Looking forward to the DIY version. Are you still gonna make a DIY version?
You can probably use an mp3 player and tape or glue an earbud to the little mic

Photoflood bulbs work great.
Great review but I’m in the uk and really need to make a DIY version. Any help out there? Greatly appreciated
Very cool! Your lead in was seriously creepy! I hope your next film project incorporates this or your DIY version into the storyline. *thumbs up*
I love that the sound comes first and then the light reacts to it with a slight delay. xD It defies the laws of physics.

Reminds me of a light organ I used make in High School. SCR Controlled? Beware, SCR puts a lot of noise into the powerline.
Where is the follow-up DIY version?
Are you thinking about making anymore DIY builds in future episodes?
Yes, as inspiration comes.
Found my local halloween express has 10 of these in stock for 50 bucks.
Where's the video on how to make it???
Thank you!
Did the diy video ever happen?
Sadly no.
Wondering when or if you have did the build for the for the perfect storm ? If so , can you send me a link or info to take a look .
I partially built it, but it got backburnered due to other projects.
Very good . Thanks for the response. Really looking forward to viewing the build before halloween.
Or just wire in a phono Jack. Boom. Lighting to Storm-Sound without messing up your audio.
John Smith explain. I wanna make one!
Replace the microphone with a phono jack and use a Computer/Smartphone/MP3-Player with storm-sound to trick the box in to thinking someone blows the mic
Hey! I bought this and connected it to an LED strip but there is a delay and doesn't work very well. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
+Samantha DiGeorge Have you tried it with regular light bulbs? I'm not sure if it plays nice with LEDs.
+thefrugalfilmmaker I ended up using white Christmas lights and it worked perfect! Thanks for the response. Much appreciated
Did anyone else think of Daleks because the lights flicker with his voice?
Reviews it doesn't show it in action
The light and the sound of the storm do not arrive at the same time... Your simulator is wrong
Precisely!!
I guess everyone likes what you suggest because most of them are "out of stock"...LOL
Blowing on some mic types can ruin the mic. At a minimum the moisture that goes along with human breath doesn't play well with most electronics.
I honestly don’t think it’s possible to pick a more boring person to promote a product
