protection of the loving family protects you from every bad event. When you lose it, you will have to use night and day patrols in case of bandit attacks.
If you destroy bandit camps from your neighbors, the relations will rise.
Everyone around you is stronger than you and doesn't attack you because of the protection of the loving family, so try to get good relations with some of them.
The alliance is a good option, especially for someone who wants to be militaristic.
The Kaidan nation you saw is already allied with Dust Valley.
