So after 25 years, found this in my parents' basement. Just had a game night with my old bestie and whoa. It is just as much fun as I remembered!
I love that!
This is probably the best board game of the type ive ever played!!
Thx for the review and Happy New Year
wish they still ssold this instead of teh reworked ugly one that you can buy now :D
Sadly where I live there are only like 3-4 used ones, all beaten up/missing pieces.
Also my favourite is the one that was made in the 90s. Just played with it for the 2nd time yesterday and it was awesome.
I had this game......it was cool! I used to have a huge collection of board games, but my mom finally made me get rid of most of them because I was using an entire closet to store them. I’m still bummed 25 years later.
It's still around on eBay. I think it's going down in price
I loved this game as a kid wish I still had it
Played this game back in 91-92. Alot of fun
Classic stuff :)
Great review. Video idea: A comparison of the board, components and gameplay between the original version and the new Hotel Tycoon version.
This was an incredible board game. Super fun. Miss playing it.
We like it too :)
Fantastic channel, my guy. Keep up the great work and the memories!
Thanks so much!
This was around that time, MB dropped the “Key To Fun” tagline and replaced with just the name itself, and the MB logo stays the same, the address was the same, but added “A Subsidiary of Hasbro Inc.” on there since Hasbro bought MB in 1984.
Wonderful game for three players, I tried it yesterday.
Hotel Tycoon is the new version of this. I have the early 90's Hotel version and the pricing is faulty. Who gets the president wins almost every time, and most of the hotels are useless to buy. We did new cards for the hotels to even out the game, but the game starts to last out for hours. Needs some work to make it perfect. Perhaps some additional chance cards to mix things up.
I loved this game my friend had it when i was a kid in early 90s
I have the original UK version from circa 1974, played it last weekend with a friend, we had SO MUCH FUN!! We cannot wait to play again. I got absolutely DESTROYED, it was hilarious!
Going to play this tomorrow, has been a while so can’t wait
Hope you enjoy it :-)
I grew up playing the old game, the one called Hotel (without the 's'). Boomerang was so damn overpowered, but it seems like they might have changed the prices and more.
You from outside North America? Hotel is the same game as Hotels. Hotels was the name of the North American version.

I love this game and been looking for it for years 😔
My parents once owned the Hotels board game.
This game and monopoly started many of a good fight between me and my friends
:)
Lol I can imagine. One of my sisters is like a soar loser. She would flip our 80s copy Monopoly board game over during sleepovers back in the day.
hotel, monopoly and risiko are best games ever in my opinion
I still have this game.. not in good condition though.. i've had so many memories wth this.. playing fr hours wth friends
It's a cool game. I think they've rereleased it somewhere
An Excellent game, made for Sweden too. Sadly, I let my ex keep our copy, so I'm hunting a new one. (She liked the game too much as well!)
They repackaged it as "Hotel Tycoon" I just bought a copy. Updated look, same gameplay.
Good game. Great review!
This game looks great, luv the 3D hotel structures. So pricey online, tho would be fun to play someday. 🤔
You could try hotel tycoon. It's the repeint.
@@BoardGameMuseumer I actually budged and bought a copy of Hotels. I read too many bad reviews about the cheap components and the game design just looks so kiddie with Tycoon. 😬
I loved this game I wish I could find it for less than $80
I know makes me wish I took better care of mine growing up:-(
I wish I'd held on to my copy, I got a different board game a while back that limo game pieces from Hotels would work great with.
Just saw a complete copy for less than 40.00 on fb market. Of course I jumped on it...of course it was sold that morning :(
where to buy this board game???
If you buy a site but don't have planning permission and land on free building space can you add a building to that site?
You can if you already own it
i asked for this for xmas when this game was on commercials. friends and i loved this game but was disappointed the high rises werent reflective like the commercial showed them to be. edit: oh weird yours are reflective. mine were just dull colored silver
I'm keen to 3D print replacement buildings for this game. I've beem looking for the files online hoping someone else had already modeled them. Looks like I might have to do it. Anyone else interested in them if I can pull it off?
I think you would probably get a little bit of interest from people that enjoy older games.
I remember it being called Hotel, not Hotels. Mandela effect?
Dawny P yeah I had Hotel.. I
seem to remember it was by Denys Fisher.. Aunty flos was the cheapest and The Towers were the most expensive..
No. Its always been hotels.
How many version of this game exists ?
There's been a few printings in the 70's and 80's and in different regions. Some printings are just called Hotel. In later printings the buildings are less shiny.
Are they still selling it?
I "sold" this game online and and he never paid me. Back in the day...oh well. Cool looking game.
The hotel in the middle is absolutely busted. Too many places to put entrances and you get way too much money from the guests. If you get the middle hotel, you win.
Hate monopoly with a passion! LOVE Hotels and no frills version, Hotel!
I have older hotel game than that
This game licks nads
The video of trash night in fun slain
