The English people are do just correct and yes, refined in their speech. Their emotions are so stoic and reserved!! Totally different here in US!! But I love them anyway! So glad we won the war, good for booth does!

Fiona Bruce, as ever, in tune with the working classes. In Victorian times you could go for a picnic in the country for only 18p on thye train, so easily affordable, she says. In those times servants rarely got more than 12p per week wages.

I think I remember that these men believed the birds sang better if blind. So these men would blind the birds, to win.
These horrendous actions only stopped after WW1, due to the men who came back blind, from the war, who actually grew uncomfortable with the deliberate blinding, just to win a stupid singing contest.

A fantastic copy of Bronte, and that damn lousy appraiser has once again contributed to the destruction of the binding of the book by not using the elementary taught book cradle, again! He did this every single time someone brought a valuable and fragile book or papers on. He really is an amateur at handling these kinds of things

I am appalled at his insulting attitude. She didn't damage the book she rescued it and gave it proper admiration. That appraiser just seems arrogant to me.

Once upon a time, the British government wasted 10s of millions of taxpayer money propping up the price of the pound. Not sad that they stopped wasting taxpayer money like that.

I'm amazed how the appraisers seem to think it's ok to touch things. The gentleman kept rubbing his fingers on the Chinese sensor. These are supposed to be knowledgeable people. In some episodes I can see the people wanting to tell the appraisers to stop. I cringe every time..

Please don't tell me those poor skylarks were always kept in that box like he just said...ohh no no no... and they gambled on the best longest song. That's barbaric and horribly abusive!..

It's nice for some people to know the history however I wish they would get to the point what is it worth? Because at the end of the day that's what most people go for yet they have to make a show of it

    • @basstrammel1322

If you don't listen to the history, you don't know why it's priced as it is.

    • @terranceparsons5185

For many of us it’s not about the money, it’s for the sheer pleasure of having the experts open our eyes to many things of interest which might otherwise have passed us by.
